  1. Jesus... I totally forgot the game was an 11 am start. Glad we got the win.. Buehrle thrown out?! the f*** was that about?
  2. Sample sizes suck, but just trying to be an ass here... (same # of ABs) Castro: 6 GMs- 2/15 0 2B 2 R 0 HR 2 RBI 2 BB 5 SO 0 SB 0 CS (.133/.235/.133/.369) salary: 800K Lucy: 7 GMs- 5/15 3 2B 2 R 1 HR 2 RBI 2 BB 3 SO 1 SB 0 CS (.333/.444/.733/1.178) salary: 400K To Castro's defense though (pun kind of intended there), he has a better percentage of runners thrown out though not sure which pitchers each guy has had as I'm too lazy too look that up.
  3. Suns just evened up the series at 2-2. Can only help Phil's decision (whether that is retirement, leaving somewhere else, etc.) if the Lakers somehow lose. Amar'e really wants to get PAID.
  4. This team is just too inconsistent. Hopefully we can at least win this series, but very disappointing we couldn't sweep a horrid Indians team with two of their better players on the DL. Win one, lose 2, win 2 lose 3, etc.. etc..

QUOTE (danman31 @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) I made this same mistake earlier. He has yet to allow an earned run, but has given up three total. Ah my mistake. Still pretty nice to see though.
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 25, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) Again, this is a classic example of overrating OBP. You aren't going to walk in the winning run from second base. In fact, Swisher being too patient and looking for the walk cost him and the team a lot of important potential hits. Sure, that .350 OBP looks decent. But no matter who you are, a .200 BA isn't going to cut it over the long haul. It is virtually impossible to ever prove a point to you (or other posters who value batting average) in regards to OBP/OPS/etc over the years so I won't start now. I will say this though, I agree with you in regards to the trade.

Jimmy Ballinger (flying under the radar here) has yet to allow a run (21 IP) this season. Pretty cool to see, especially for a guy who is in an age appropriate league.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 25, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) Torres is probably worthy of a call up as a long reliever if and when the time comes. As I said in his last start, he is too good for AAA. Has nothing to prove anymore.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) So heres a picture from the event on Sunday. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7431/dsc0033gq.jpg You are a lucky man Gage.
  10. Magic avoid the sweep. DBAH0 can be happy for another day.
  11. Nelson is making Rondo his b**** in this game. Orlando actually showing up to not get swept. Haha... and now Ray Allen is taking over.
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 24, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) "Gordon > Teahen"? As lousy as Teahen is (and he is!), at least Mark is in the Major Leagues. Gordon isn't, and for good reason. He's been every bit as lousy as Teahen has been up until this point, and with plenty of sample size to prove it. Their poor performances at the Major League level to date are actually fairly similar. And that begs an interesting question: why is one of them in the minors right now, and then why is one of them the STARTING third baseman for OUR team! Please don't make me have to find a thread a month or two ago of why I presented Alex Gordon to be consistently dicked around by that organization despite putting up similar numbers to Teahen in his short career (.249-.331-.413-.744 97 OPS+ to Teahen's .267-.331-.415-.746 96 OPS+)
  13. Richards touches the trophy. Toews did not. We'll see who was right at the end.
  14. Flyers win 4-2. It will be Flyers-Blackhawks for the Cup.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 24, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Brett Lillibridge hit another home-run today. Who would have thought he would be the Knights second best hitter consistently this year. (though Gartrell could overtake him there too)
  16. Why did Alexei pinch run? I missed what happened.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 24, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Another nice stroke by Beckham. I'll take that kind of swing from him for nwo. He really has had a great day at the plate. Has hit the ball very solid. In fact.. that line out will add to the unlucky BABIP.
  18. And Andruw Jones' numbers continue to drop. I believe it was 3-4 games ago, fangraphs had an article around this time last year when he dropped off after his hot start with Texas,
  19. Bill Melton still calls J.J. Putz "J.J. Pootz" so who knows.
  20. Whatever happens this at-bat, Crowe did his job.
  21. If Trevor Crowe beats you.. fine. But not Shin Shoo Choo.
  22. QUOTE (docsox24 @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) why on earth is that guy swinging at a 3-0 pitch It is just amazing seeing him get the 3-0 green light when guys like konerko, Rios, even Quentin etc.. who are better suited not get one.
  23. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 24, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Flyers looking good. Hopefully its just the level of competition as I think the Habs finally came back down to earth. I believe they were the preseason Stanley Cup finalist pick before underachieving the whole year and having a ton of injuries. Won't be a cakewalk for the Hawks at all especially seeing they play almost the same style as the Hawks, seeding be damned. Other than Nashville, I think the Flyers will be the second best defense the Hawks will probably face this post-season. Pronger is nasty. Then again.. I never thought the Hawks would actually sweep the Sharks, so no team scares me if the Hawks are on their game.
