QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 14, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) I'd push Doyle straight to Double-A and leave the Dash rotation intact. Haha.. can't get any worse for the Barons.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Rios at CF, Paulie at 1B and a pile of crap. So I'm assuming Vizquel and Castro too? -

If I remember, Jones will not play today so its more Kotsay baby! Anyone got the line-ups yet? -
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ May 14, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) I think the fact that DR can hit an 18 foot jump shot with regularity makes him better than Rondo at this point in their careers. Rondo has a high Basketball IQ but watching him shoot free throws or a mid-range J is upsetting. Rondo gets seemingly lost on defense as well. Rondo's defense is overrated, but what he does very well is not only go for reach around steals (which is pure genius BTW) he commits on passing lanes, and he is always around the ball, forcing guys to make a mistake (dribble it out of bounds, fumble passes, etc..) cause they know he has lightning quick hands. Rondo can guard some PGs now one-on-one... Derrick Rose isn't one of them. That is what disappoints me about Rose. He has all the talent in the world to be the best lock-down defender at the PG position in every way. (a mini LeBron if you will with the steals, blocks, etc..) Rose averaged 0.4 blocks a game as a PG (I think only Westbrook is around there too). Most PGs average 0.2 or below. (unless your name is Jason Kidd)

QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 13, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Beckham must have like half of those too. I swear, he K's twice a game it seems like. Actually, Beckham does have the most K's on the team (28) in 31 games, so a little bit under 1 a game. His 28 are ~16% of the team's total.. I really hope he starts figuring it out. EDIT: Jones strikes out more times per game than Becks though, so he's not leading that category. Jones has 25Ks in 27 games played. Ya Jones K's alot in less at-bats. But he and Beckham make up for it by the number of walks they take instead of someone like alexei who only has like 3 BBs to 17 or 18 SO. I kinda figured when you have Pierre and AJ (or even Kotsay) in the same lineup, you probably will have the fewest amount of K's and that is what KW wanted in the off-season. Guys like Quentin, Beckham, Konerko (though his BB's are very high with reason), Jones, Teahen, etc.. will walk quite a bit.

Anyone catch Kevin Garnett's comments? Basically said if he was in LeBron's shoes, he would leave. Loyalty can only take you so far, as can youth and other stuff to that effect. EDIT: found it.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) I guess I just never noticed her chest that much because I always thought her face was very unattractive, and when I think a celebrity girl's face is unattractive, I don't bother to look at anything else. Yet, you look at Tiffany Pollard.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:47 PM) I just saw this. I'd die from joy to get Luol out of town, especially for another big piece. Quick question: Lets say theres a sign-and-trade for Bosh for Taj & Kirk, does his lack of D, losing Taj & Kirk's D, taking up remaining cap for bench pieces (a sniper?) get balanced out by his scoring? Plus, that would move LeBron to SG, but that doesn't matter. Well a S&T for Bosh for Taj and Kirk would be hard to do cause IMO Bosh gets the max. Now having said that, I'm all for moving Kirk cause I just hate his game, but I would think Deng would be the first to go even though I would not mind LeBron at SG but I feel this team would benefit more with a sniper as a SG rather than an ISO guy (like a Joe Johnson for example) unless your getting a PF who can shoot and stretch the floor. (i.e. a Troy Murphy, David Lee, etc..) Now if Gar and company think LeBron and Deng will fit than by all means, but Deng seriously needs to be more consistent in his shooting by next season.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) lol reply to me on FB to a guy who said (paraphrasing) "f*** LeBron we want Bosh" And @ keith get off dat losers nut sack we want CB4 he's a better pick up for da bulls everybody who's a real bulls fan knows dis man lol. Sorry but no. Everybody I know in CHICAGO wants LeBron. Chris Broussard live on ESPN now hyping the LeBron to Bulls talk, praising our team and putting up ideas for a S&T to get Deng out of here.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 13, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Last 3 starts: 22 IP, 10 H, 0.82 ERA, 0.50 WHIP, 1 BB/ 35 SO Yeah. He's too good for Low-A. He'll be promoted soon. 3 straight 10+ K games down there. Matt Hobgood pitched for the O's against Kanny (5th player taken overall in the country)

Mike Brown should be fired... seriously. He really is a terrible coach. LeBron can make anyone look good, but even he can take you so far. LeBron put up 27-19-10 tonight and still couldn't win. He really has to leave there and their management should be ashamed for not getting Amar'e cause of friggin J.J. Hickson. Now that I disgustingly rooted for the Celtics, I've never been a bigger Magic fan. Go Magic!! (and DBAH0.. ) Then when the Lakers take the title again, I'll be glued in to free agency.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 13, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Nash and CP3 are currently better than Williams and Rose and Rondo are younger and will soon pass him IMO. You give the "younger" argument in Rose and Rondo yet you put the older Nash over Deron when comparing both of them in numbers Deron trumps Nash over every statistical category minus one less assist a game and is like 10 years younger? Hell Nash has the better player in Stat (and better supporting cast) over Booz. C'mon KC. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 13, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) It's almost impossible to argue Chris Paul vs. Deron Williams. They are almost identical in production. But I give Paul the slight edge in defense and shooting. Deron Williams is definitely a top 10 candidate though, as is Carmelo if I expanded my list. Ya you really can't. The only reason I gave Williams the edge cause he upped his game and CP3 was injured this season. (not to mention his backup actually had very good numbers in the same system) Usually I'm taking CP3 most of the time over Deron, but as of this season.. Deron passed him up, though that could change next season.

Does this trade make sense? Info on Salt please
SoxAce replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
I would. Put him or Flowers over at 1B/DH and call it a day. Saltalamacchia is a nice switch-hitting young player (though his clock is ticking) at only 25. Don't know if he will ever figure it out at the MLB though. If you can't hit in Texas... well.... Anyone know if he has recovered over his "mental" lapses at catcher though? I remember it was sad seeing him not even come close to throwing back to the pitcher in between pitches. -
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I really don't like him all that much but I'd still take Nash over Deron. Dwill has never done it for me. Give me CP3, Nash, Rose, and Rondo over him. There are so many things wrong here I don't know where to start. Haha.. well I'll just politely say that if you think this, than Deron Williams is STILL underrated, sadly.

QUOTE (Wanne @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) I'd more than wet mine. I'd oil all the strings pretty well and literally soak it overnight. Sometime I'd beat it with the head of the bat in the pocket too. You sicken me sir. Its just a glove.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) Well that's easy. Kobe is 10 years older. By that logic if I had to choose between Grant Hill and MJ in 1998 I'd no doubt go with Grant Hill. Kobe's still a better player than Durant, IMO. Haha, I was thinking Jason Kidd (or Steve Nash) vs Derrick Rose in that instance. One game.. no doubt Kidd, sign in FA... no doubt Rose though I still think Kidd is just ridiculous still at age 36.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:50 PM) lol, I just like girls with more curvaceous features. I feel ya on some of the women you had on your list. Quite frankly, I like alot of them too, but if your telling me your taking New York over Katy Perry (who you might want to google wearing a bikini cause she really is "curvy" or really New York over anybody really since she is just horrible to look at, not to mention had about 5 different surgeries) then you disgust me.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) I'd agree that CP3 was passed by Williams this season, although that could change next season, which is why I pointed out that I thought CP3 as the #3 player in the league was a bit odd and started up this whole threadjacking. It is odd. Whomever said he was the 3rd best player right now in the NBA doesn't know basketball.

They might want to let LeBron finish the playoffs first before all this talk. They are acting like the Celtics already won the series. For all we know, this will go back to Cleveland in the next couple of days.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) I always want to say Deron Williams deserves more credit than he gets as a player, but I worry i'm just being biased since he went to Illinois. Like I said earlier, many would argue Deron passed up CP3 this season. I actually would put Deron slightly ahead of Paul (that probably will change next season though as CP3 will do his thing) but as of today, yes I think Deron is the best PG in the NBA.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 13, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) Aren't we talking for like next season? For all we know, next season Rajon Rondo might be the best PG in the NBA (if he improves his shooting in the summer like he's doing out of nowhere in the playoffs now), so you really can't predict what could be.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) I couldn't even imagine his numbers if he played in a hitter's park for 81 games a year. Oh no doubt. In fact.. I said that alot defending him. Kalapse gets props too in one of the threads.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 13, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) Ehh, I figured you were basing your entire argument on that one instance. Whoopdeedoo. He's no different than the other 95% of the leagues young guys that do the exact same things except aren't half the player he is You will never see Kevin Durant doing that or a young Kobe. Hell, even Carmelo got alot better in maturity over the years. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) CP3 still up there? Shocked myself though he is on my list as well, though many would say Deron passed him up this season especially since CP3 was injured.
