  1. Even though I hate having another day without baseball, (even if it's our boring team) a day off could be a blessing for some of these guys.
  2. Knights lost 2-1 in a day game Carlos Torres pitched very well. Danks 1-4, 2B, K. Lillibridge 3-4, 2B. Flowers 1-3, BB Everyone else plays later tonight. Birmingham: 6:30 CDT Lowe W-S: 6:05 EDT Edwards Kanny: 7:05 EDT Hopps
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) It's not like he's been tearing apart the league for 3 years with no recognition or anything. He was great in half a season last year at age 28 on an awful team and coming into yesterday's game his OPS for the season was at .750 with 1 HR in his previous 131 PA. He hasn't done nearly enough to earn an outpouring of affection. Thats why he needs more love.. now give him some love you douche. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) How are we worse? Their sucktitude is just about equal. I would rather have 6 (though I could say 7, but I would be seriously "hyperboling" it if I included Castro's limited at-bats) guys in my line-up hitting .300+ with a sucky bullpen (minus a couple of guys) that can be fixed in a trade (if the GM was any good) over only 1 guy in my line-up hitting .300+ with half the bullpen sucking and half the rotation sucking anyday.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 15, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) Juan Pierre has the second most ABs with RISP on the club, it's pretty ridiculous to be ok with him not driving any of those runs in just because he happens to hit atop the lineup, as a high average hitter he needs to be picking up hits in those situations same as anyone else in the lineup, it's simply unacceptable that he's 4 for 29 in RBI opportunities, that's WAY too many wasted opportunities. Given that he gets the most PA on the team he's going to get plenty of late inning RBI opportunities and he doesn't deserve a free pass in those situations just because he's a punch and judy hitter or a "table setter". Exactly. You can tell that to thw Twins how valuable Denard Span is not only hitting lead-off, but hitting with RISP.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 15, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Wow. You can add that to the Alex Rios (our best defender) never played LF in his career until this season as well.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 15, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) So I guess you are part of the fan base that wants mediocre Mark out of the lineup every day? Or you wanted Mediocre Mark to DH and Omar at third? This. Remember I was the one earlier in this thread that thought Omar should have played either 3B or SS today over Teahen (mostly) or Alexei. (more or less a day off fielding) I still think Vizquel has been seriously mis-used this year by Ozzie. I thought the guy would be in the field alot for defensive purposes late in games from whomever in the diamond minus Konerko. (Teahen's weak D, Alexei's mental lapses, or Beckham's new transition) also thought he would be getting alot less at-bats than he probably will this season. One time at DH for Vizquel was one time too many. One time in LF for Alex Rios was one time too many.
  7. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 15, 2010 -> 12:50 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/blog/roto_...=fantasy,240938 Yikes. I was right then. That is seriously f***ed up for him. Pretty much a DH/1B at this point as I don't see how he can recover from what basically is mental stuff that alot of MLB players had happen to them.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Hybrid Insanity Core balance/Back and Biceps workout today. Lots of sweat on my floor. I've slowly come to realize Insanity is killing me, though I haven't helped myself on eating healthy the last few days. Cardio power and resistance kicked my ass today. Not looking forward to plyo cardio circuit tomorrow.
  9. Vizquel actually would have looked good at 3rd base, perhaps saving Buehrle a couple of runs. f*** you Ozzie.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 14, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) So Delonte West was banging LeBron's mom. Terez doesn't lie. Wow.. ya I see it on some reports now. I know Delonte had his issues off the court before, but jesus. They are speculating that's why LeBron played so bad from game 4 on cause he found out.
  11. Amazing what the Flyers did. Down 3-0 in the series and down 3-0 in that game 7, to not only come back 4-3 and win the game, but also the series. Crazy ass playoffs for hockey. Flyers and the Habs are just head-lining it. Fitting both "Cinderella" teams would meet, not to mention they are both the 7 and 8 seeds respectively. 1-2 in the West and 7-8 in the East. Really bizarre. I'm sure Boston fans are pissed (though I would be too if my team pretty much gave one of the worst choke jobs in not just the NHL, but in sports history), but really their future is bright. They will probably have a top 3 pick (from the Kessel trade) and will be even better next year what that top player whatever they decide to do.
  12. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 14, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) always liked garrett jones He is pretty good and gets no love. Will probably always be underrated by most people except die hard fans and Pirate fans.
  13. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) the Yankees must put a sign of them choking the Twins in the clubhouse or something because its just ridiculous how the Twins can win in New York. Grand Slam this and Grand Slam that and heartbreaking loss year after year Some teams just have another teams numbers. There own-age of you guys reminds me of how the West Coast teams (especially Oakland) used to own us in every way.
  14. Greene with a 3-4 night (now up to .354-.448-.619-1.067 numbers) God the Barons are horrible. They are a young team, but just reading their box score most nights bores the hell out of me minus guys like Morel, Shirek (who was good again tonight) and Marrero. (Gallagher has disappointed me) I don't think Kevin Dubler has had 2 consecutive days with hits in his minor league career. Limited at-bats in May.. .417-.611-.583-1.194 Baby steps...
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) No vote of confidence from KW. From the rumors circulating, he is really fed up with Guillen. He's been fed up with Ozzie since 2007 really. And honestly I don't blame him one bit.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) Yep, I'll take an .800 OPS, .390 on base guy anytime. 16 of his 17 RBI are with RISP this season. This guy is hitting .407-.469-.630-1.098 with RISP. He is basically telling Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau that they ain't s***.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) On a positive note, Juan is doing better? Although his .252, 0 home runs and 3 RBIs is kind of laughable. Three RBIs all season for a regular is amazingly bad. Speaking of which.. if only we can have a "lead-off hitter" like that man who can still drive in runs when called upon. I would love me some Denard Span for example.
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) I was thinking about the Pierre thing when i phrased the post. That's why i added usually to it. I didn't want to make it so absolute. Ah I didn't catch that. Gotcha.
  19. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 14, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) Thanks. Interesting. Legit high school bat. Hadn't even considered him really. I'm sure many would prefer Wilson over him though. I like Sale.. alot. But ya I would prefer the upside of Wilson mostly, but I also agree with you DS that we will indeed draft a pitcher first anyway. I would prefer Sale in the supp. rounds if I had the choice however. QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ May 14, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Josh Sale. Welcome to soxtalk!
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) The lesson is that Ozzie is usually a man of his words, and the ideas behind those words are tragically stupid. See now that is bulls***. I won't even bring up last season, but Ozzie said the same crap about Pierre getting time off and then hitting him 9th when he comes back (Pierre was in the line-up the next day... though he did put Pierre 9th for a couple of games then put him back in the lead-off spot) and said Beckham would get a few days off to clear his head, only to have him back in the line-up with only one off day. (though I can at least agree with that decision, young hitters can't figure it out on the bench) He said some serious crap that he'll half-way do, then go back to what he originally did the following day. This is the same man who had Alex Rios play LF for a game.. our best defender in LF... where he never played in his life prior to this season.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) Here's a list of mangers that weren't stupid enough to DH Omar Vizquel because they actually know where his value lies: Ron Washington Eric Wedge Charlie Manuel Joel Skinner Mike Hargrove Lou Piniella Bill Plummer Jim Lefebvre Sad when a crack-head is brighter than you Ozzie.
  22. Decisions like these are why Ozzie keeps hearing those fire rumors, constantly defending himself. I don't even think Dusty Baker or Ned Yost are this stupid.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 14, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) Vizquel at DH tonight. Pierre lf, AJ c, Rios cf, Konerko 1b, Kotsay rf, Ramirez ss, Teahen 3b, Beckham 2b, Vizquel dh, Buehrle p. Wow.. the first time that has happened this season, and that is one time too many. Ozzie is an idiot. Jesus, he couldn't just put Teahen, or Alexei at DH and have Vizquel's defense out there? My god. He really should get ripped to shreds by everyone, including the media, on that move.
  24. My little guy.. Jordan Shipers. Would be a great pick in the later rounds. In fact.. I mentioned his name before. I also like Dan Tillman.
