  1. This has been a great game. Both goalies are on their game.
  2. Shoemaker is still hot. Average now up to .302.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 21, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) He actually looked OK at the plate last night. Whats sad is he has been one of, if not... our hottest hitter the last 4 games. .455/.625 (5/11) 5:1 BB/SO 1 SB QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 21, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!!! :lolhitting
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 21, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Never seen Anderson play. But Henry as a frosh had better 3pt % numbers. I just think Henry has a chance to be a good one. Keep in mind that the college three is different than the NBA three and Anderson is known to make some deeep ones. No doubt though, (IMO) Henry has the highest potential of any SG in this draft, not counting Turner. (and even some people would argue that)
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 21, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) Henry wont be there for the Bulls. Just like Wade wasnt there and they had to take Hinrich. Book it. Though he has the higher potential, I would much prefer Anderson anyways and his shooting (think he is the best fit anyways) I will not be picky if either guy falls that far hopefully, though people have Anderson rated higher than Henry.
  6. Pre-draft measurements for those interested. It'll be updated everyday with the other stuff they do. Xavier Henry is impressing me more and more.
  7. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) It's me. Should have known! Damn you Jeff.
  8. QUOTE (NIUSox @ May 21, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) I would turn that one offer down in a second. I have been lucky enough to see a White Sox World Series win in my lifetime, but not a Stanley Cup. I would be able to handle another bad Sox season most of them in my lifetime have been anyways . I have the same feeling about the Hawks that I got about the Sox in the ALCS in 2005. Now, if you were to tell me that I had to take away 2005 to get the Stanley Cup in 2010, I don't think I would be able to do that. Agreed. If 05' didn't happen, I might be more inclined to think about (probably do) this especially since I'm a much bigger baseball fan (sox fan) than I am a hockey fan (the Hawks). Now post 05', there is no way I do this. Sox can go 62-100 this season for all I care, if that means the Hawks win the cup and end their own drought. The only long drought I want to see in Chicago is the Cubs.
  9. Happy B-Day to my boy and fellow late night soxtalk member. You too Sleepy.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:46 AM) I wouldn't say they are without payroll issues. Carl Crawford and Carlos Pena are definitely not coming back next year because they can't afford them. Once some of the other guys get older, they are gonna have to make some tough $$$$ decisions too. They will be 100% fine with Desmond Jennings, when he takes over for Crawford. Trust me.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) Torres was pretty good tonight. ERA continues to drop with his good May. He really has nothing to prove in AAA anymore. Hopefully Justin Greene gets pushed to AA soon. He's too old for high A.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) You don't honestly think we can get anything for Jones, do you? He's not a regular on any team but ours and maybe the Nats. You get maybe a Class A guy if for some reason anybody wanted Jones. Can play all three OF positions, making 500K, so far hitting at a solid production.. KW won't have a problem getting a call for him right now.. that is of course if we keep waiting and he keeps dropping.
  13. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 20, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) Frank and Mo Vaughn were both elite hitters who won MVPs. Sure, Frank was better, but your assertion that the Sox wouldn't have won the division with Vaughn instead of Frank is silly. We can agree to disagree on that, as your man-love for Frank seems to be getting in the way of your ability to think objectively. I actually agree with J4L on this one. There is a reason Hargrove (the Indians manager at the time of course) said that pitchers should not be alone with Frank at the dish. Or why Ted Williams called him one of the best RH hitters he has ever seen during that era. 93' Mo: .297-.390-.525-.915 139 OPS+ BB:79 SO:130 (29 HR 101 RBI) 3.3 WAR 93' Frank: .317-.426-.607-1.033 177 OPS+ BB:112 SO:54 (41 HR 128 RBI) 6.7 WAR Both great hitters like you said. But you can get Mo Vaughn out. Frank was just a freak of nature.
  14. We knew guys like Konerko, Rios, Jones would come back down to earth. The other guys are not hitting their share however to off-set it. Quentin is comming around the last couple of games, I'll give him that. If the sox were smart, they would trade Jones ASAP while his value is high. This is the time he tailed off last year as well.
  15. Well.... at least Quentin is swinging the bat much better lately if there is a positive to take out of this.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) The Sox are a lock to win this game. Fuentes is brutal. The way this season has gone... probably not. AJ's bad luck ground rule double cost us.
  17. I can't for the life of me understand why Ozzie doesn't have guys like konerko swing at 3-0. Love the Rios call though here.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) Time for the Captain. He is probably our best chance in all honesty.
  19. You are both outstanding posters. There is the money green.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) Gordon changed his AB music which is now: Seek and Destroy. My life will never be the same again. Man.. when its going bad for you... geez Becks.
  21. All I know is the sox really, really like Infante's arm. I think they want to put him back to a starter in the future, but doing the Nate Jones route to work on his command. I also think Carter from the Barons might have found his calling as a reliever instead of a starter. Supposedly he is really bringing it as well, though JPN can probably confirm that better.
  22. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 20, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) RHP Brandon Kloess was added to the Dash roster from Kannapolis. Hopefully another Alabama native makes it to the Barons, though in his case.. pushing all the way to Charlotte.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) And yet, it's even worse this year. He won't be great no, but it is still early Balta. Just 3 weeks ago I remember Pierre was sportin a -1.9 UZR in LF. Now it is up to +6.4. (alot of that you can see in games with some of the plays he makes, and this is comming from someone who hates Pierre)
