Konerko already with 3 LOB. Figures I hesitate to pick him for my PTC and he does this.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) How deep was Teahen's double? I love seeing the early offense, Pierre's doing a great job lately. I believe it was a 1-2 hop hit to the wall in left-center field. Easily scored Jones. We need Beckham to get going in XBH as well. Right now though, I'll take the baby steps route with him and just get some singles. Rios, Quentin (surprisingly) and Teahen are our XBH threats.

Beckham with a hit. Pierre just showed 320 feet worth of power..

QUOTE (juddling @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Slipknot bassist found dead in Des Moines..... Story One of my closest friends is gonna be crushed. He loves that band though honestly they have like 20 members on Slipknot so I have no idea who is who sometimes.

Kearns is up. Man I wanted the sox to get him so badly in the off-season. Would have been a prototype KW move buying low on a talented hitter who has underachieved in Washington (though played stellar defense in RF) for a couple of years.

The hell? I left and it was 1-0 with Rios on 2nd, and figured well that is a successful inning for us, and now were up 4-0 still in the first? Who is this team?

Does the recent success of Ely and Gio Gonzalez

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) And Pierre has been tearing it up? Jones had a nice first month but he's coming back down to earth now. I'd certainly take Swish over both Pierre and Jones from here on out. You may not like Swisher due to his poor performance and antics with the club, but let's not pretend that he's not a good player. I've said it many, many times here. Swisher really got a bad rep when he was here. Dude still put up a .351 OBP when was hitting like .190 (not to mention ridiculously bad luck in BABIP) for us. We'll be extremely fortunate if Pierre can give us a .340-.345 OBP for us. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) From 2003 to 2005, Rowand posted a combined UZR of +36.6 in 390 games and 2889.2 innings. That's a UZR/150 of 17.1, which is definitely elite. I don't think his defense was overrated when he was with the Sox at all... QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) His UZR and plus/minus numbers were unreal (at least in '05 his PM was awesome) during his stretch with the Sox, I don't think he was overrated at all. And I have and had no problem dumping him for Thome I just don't want to downplay how valuable he was to the '05 club. I'm personally getting tired of the overrated D issues as well from people. Sure he struggled with plays at times when he was here, no OF is perfect, but Rowand was a very good defensive center fielder for us when he was here. I still remember the clinic he put on at Yankee stadium.

Is this the first time this season Vizquel is hitting lower than 2nd (or 1st)? I can't remember.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Super Mario for 64 is possibly one of the best games ever. In terms of Marios I would rate them as follows (I have not played anything since 64) 1. Super Mario 64 2. Super Mario SNES 3. Super Mario III 4. Super Mario II 5. Super Mario Brothers Every single one of them I have completed from start to finish (all boards and stars for III, SNES and 64). 64 is legitimately a great game. Some of the stars were difficult even though I was in my video gaming prime. Preach brother. But Super Mario III still is the best IMO. I only played SNES once though (maybe twice), so I don't really remember it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2010 -> 06:58 AM) The Indians are without Sizemore and Cabrera. If we can't take 2 of 3 in this series, with D1, Peavy, and Buehrle on the mound, there's something seriously wrong. We shouldn't be 1-5 against that even with those two in the line-up.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 24, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Wilson is harder to get a read on, but supposedly his pitch recognition is becoming very worrisome and of course the signability issues. I keep telling people don't be surprised to see a guy like that slip out the first. (or even the supp. round) There have been prospects in the past that were hyped to be pick that early only to really slip for whatever reason.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Give me Dirk over Bosh any day if you're adding LeBron, as Dirk's a much better shooter. I agree with you completely. In all honesty, it's a tougher question to answer when you think about it. Long term, I'll take Bosh cause of the youth and other areas, but I think Dirk fits much better next to Rose and LeBron, even for only a 2-3 year stint cause of age. For me it is Dirk no question.

I would consider it a success if we got someone like Jonathan Singleton or Jarred Cosart in their system (which is also weak). Your not getting their best prospect for Bobby Jenks.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 23, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) Niemi's shown that he'll be the #1 guy here for a few seasons at least, and hopefully we can lock him up to an affordable contract for the long - term, and somehow get rid of Huet's deal. No doubt. But I'm sure we will think about that when that time comes. Lets enjoy the ride and hopefully some history for our franchise with 4 more wins. -
Teahen.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 22, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) That was Delmon Young. Twins win anyway. I was gonna say.. Span is pretty much money with RISP.

Gavin pitching after Buehrle instead of Peavy... I like. And against a NL team doesn't hurt either.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 21, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) Dude, you have no idea how many times I'd have to explain the tattoo...to Chicago area residents...yes, including the state outline. What.... your not a four corner hustler?

Ditto. Tomorrow I'm doing both cardio abs and cardio circuit (missed a day yesterday, damn Hawks game) and with Sunday off, I will have completed 4 weeks of Insanity. Next week is recovery week/core balance basically then after that, the MAX interval training begins..

Lets win more than 1-2 wins in a row before we get excited. As thunderbolt said, this team has a tendency to win one, get all of our hopes up saying this is where they turn it around, then all of a sudden lose the next game, or lose the series entirely. The only thing different about now is it is the NL so perhaps we might win some series (or sweep) at least.

QUOTE (The Critic @ May 21, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) I'm glad my daughter is at her aunt's house tonight - I would have woken her up for sure when Byfuglien scored that game-winner! Niemi was great, as he has been regularly. Oh, and I simply love Buff's "Captain Morgan" goal celebration! One more win to the Finals - I'm still a little bit in shock. One more to add to that sig of yours! QUOTE (NIUSox @ May 21, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) I hate when people complain about the refs, but I think that some of the penalties we got were kinda suspect and the icing call right before they scored in the 3rd was iffy too. Most people leave that for Canuck fans. I missed the overtime period (working out) but I'm glad one of my favorite Hawks scored it. BUFF!
