  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) and Pena gets to stop pitching the garbage innings. That Torres guy (or Hudson) would have looked good for us early on.. but I don't blame sox management at all for knowing Pena would have to be pitching that many mop-up innings, cause of how brutal our rotation has been.
  2. Remember though.. this is Marty who has been spot on with signings/trades in the past, he docsox, Spataro, etc.. are very good in rumors and such and I trust alot. Only reason I would question it is cause it was a friend this time though Marty not the usual "connections."
  3. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) I would be willing to trade everyone with the exception of Danks, Beckham, and Santos. I think we need to seriously consider dealing Rios. I kinda agree with you actually. I think people are getting carried away of a couple of months of hot baseball from him (he has been a solid hitter over the years I know) and with the others sucking. Funny thing is, we heard the same stuff about Peavy last year in only 3 starts cause of his track record, as an untouchable for us by people. Rios' value may never be higher and he is still in his prime for teams even with the contract. (which looks waaaay more affordable now cause he is hitting, I remember last year posters here saying it was an albatross) The ONLY reason I would hesitate on Rios is because we really don't have a stud CF in the minors, who can step in right away. My guys I still want here are Floyd, Danks and Beckham. Everyone other than Peavy and Rios (who will probably stay cause of their contracts and I will put Buehrle in this too only because I love the son of a b****) is fair game. I love Santos, but I'm still not THAT sold on him, not yet to put as an untouchable. (we will obviously keep the kid however, especially with him being very cheap and has a good arm) QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) Thornton needs to be trade becasue his value has never been higher. Honestly, i don't see us being able to resign him either. Thornton's value has been insane for like 3 years now. Every GM knows he is a beast/what he is about. In fact.. I remember one GM gushing him up not too long ago (Theo?)
  4. 47 year old Jaime Moyer pitched another complete game. Hard to believe he nearly retired from the game back in 1995, now look at him... STILL going.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) He jumped past AA surprisingly fast. It's ok to be patient with him. The normal schedule was supposed to be AA this year, AAA next year. Better to get the AAA struggles done early. Agreed. I find it very helpful he only has 1 SO in 3 games (15 ABs), so he is not getting over-matched up there at all. He just hasn't found the hits yet. Santos Rodriguez, after his brutal start, has settled in quite nicely for W-S especially his last few outings. (only 1 BB the last 6 games)
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) There are only a handful of assistant coaches that everyone who's a serious NBA fan knows their name. Thibodeau has been in that group since at least 2008. Pretty much sums it up. I think people forget that VDN NEVER coached in ANY LEVEL in his life.

I fuknihg hate shady ass feidns that is fucng alll!! Ima edit this typing slowly as can be with water by my side for alittle bit now (time). Ok... I f***ing hate shady ass friends/people. That is all.
  8. There are big rumors now that the Bulls might hire Scottie Pippin to be an assistant. If that happens WOW, that is a big F U to Wade. Plus I like it cause he isn't a fan of Hinrich like myself.

I've slowed down on Insanity alot. Missed a couple days this week (I'm sure you know Rock anything dealing with MAX is f***ing hard!) I'll do Max Plyo in a little bit here and perhaps workout twice tomorrow to make up for some lost time.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 03:11 AM) Somehow after a year at southern illinois ive become such a lightweight, and I actually am happy about it... getting drunk with less alcohol is a good thing...... i typed this message with my eyles closed because it made me less dizzy. Don't worry. I'm not the same "freak" (as my friends like to call me) like I was a couple of years ago either when I drank. I don't drink as often, and I lost a ton of weight as well. Sad when most of your friends can now hang better than you.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) Makes Beckham's season-long suckfest even more discombobulating. Just remember when Beckham was called up last year he was sexy up here too. The ol' "sophomore slump" is where we will see if Posey can handle.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) Brentz would be a very good pick, but it just seems so likely that the Sox will take a college starting pitcher. I keep trying to convince myself the sox might take the best player available, if that is a position player, but I keep going back to college pitcher they would take. Still not a doubt in my mind we are going that route.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) I decided to watch the game. Hope springs eternal Your a better fan than I am man. Ima watch a couple of innings, but Ace is goin out tonight and hittin the bars!

There is absolutely no reason at all for Lucy to ever be a starting catcher in the big leagues. None. In fact.. I didn't even bother posting in that thread on pale hose about it cause I would think some posters would have the sense not to think that way. People should not let a sample size effect their judgment.
  15. Someone brought up an interesting stat. Every game 4 winner, since the lockout, has won the Stanley Cup. (Flyers just won game 4)
  16. Ya brutal game to watch though you have to admire the comeback by us. Boynton played instead of Hendry (figured that was gonna happen cause of the last game) and was a -1. Kane.. yikes. Sometimes the media can piss you off. They were really giving it to Hjammarsson on some bad breaks. I look for him to rebound the most for game 5 personally. I think this is going all the way to 7 games.
  17. QUOTE (kane0730 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 12:08 AM) Nobody wants Jake! That North of 6 ERA isn't too sexy. Some of you are crazy. I don't think a couple of months of bad Peavy would scare off many NL teams personally, especially with his NL track record.
  18. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 12:29 AM) What? QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 12:39 AM) Make that a double what? Maybe caulfield was saying if we didn't do any of those moves, Joey Cora wouldn't have been stupid enough to put Mitchell in LF as a defensive replacement, playing out of his usual position, in a spring training game and he would be healthy now raking or something.
  19. Wow... looks like Tom Thibodeau will get an offer to be our new head coach. (and I would like to say he should have been hired 2 years ago, but then again.. this is our organization) Good call by DBAH0 advocating this for two years for us as well. I like Thibs, and a big rumor (hope it is true) that Mo Cheeks might join us as an assistant (and Ron Adams... careful Joakim...) as well. (which can only help Rose and who was my 1st choice for weeks before Thibo-mania stepped in) Also remember... Thibs recently joined WWW which has that other big name FA who shares the same agency... hmmmm... LINK. more at link...

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) I heard my dad use the phrase "cool beans" twice in the same convo when on a conference call once.. I thought that was just a hispanic thing. Couple of my friends and their fathers say it all the time, but they are all hispanic. (hell I'm half hispanic and I don't even say it THAT much)
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) Grandal? Where did the hell did this come from? I think he's a stud. I just never thought he'd be on the Sox radar. Would drafting him speak volumes negatively towards the long-term future of Flowers? They could always move Flowers to 1B/DH, but I don't know/think if his bat would translate, but then again.. this is our org. so it isn't THAT much in question, but right now Flowers has some issues he (and the org.) need to fix. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) IMO, yes. Phegley as well. Phegley's future is already in question with or without the Grandal pick.
  22. Fun stat of the day. The sox are 7-0 when Andruw Jones homers in a game. (according to Hawk since they were 6-0 before yesterday's win)
