  1. Apparently included in the Knicks presentation to LeBron was a study done by an "independent" research firm that said LeBron would make $1 billion over the rest of his career. While that is fairly reasonable, here is the part that seems abit... well... unusual. The study concluded LeBron would make $700 million in Cleveland, and only $650 million in Chicago. Yes, LeBron would make more in Cleveland than in Chicago according to this "study". So, do the NYN actually think they can lie right to LeBron's face? You think LeBron hasnt done his own research on this? Various tweets from Chris Reina (Executive Editor of RealGM) The Interbrand study on LeBron's earning potential is interesting, but too many people I respect have discredited the validity to me. The math of LeBron having a 50% chance of becoming a billionaire in New York, but just 1% in Chicago is extremely far-fetched. Nobody doesn't believe LeBron will make the most money long-term in New York, but that report is an exaggeration on the difference.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) Real Gm reporting Wade has given up in trying to lure LBJ to Miami. It will be a 2 team race, imo, between the Bulls & Cavs.
  3. I always loved "I love to watch Ray (Durham) run"
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) The Score carried very little weight when he "covered" the Bulls. He did nothing more than carry a microphone. Boers is the one who has contacts, and people are getting them confused. Oh, there's not doubt that Boers has more contacts. He's been around forever. Even if Bernsie did just carry a mic, he did cover them, and therefor has contacts.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) I think you fools are getting Boers and Bernstein mixed up. Dan Bernstein didn't cover the Bulls, but Terry Boers did. Dan Bernstein blows smoke out of his ass more often than not, and the last time he leaned on his "sources" he "broke" the Kobe to Chicago rumor and guaranteed it. Guess what, it didn't happen. Actually Bernstein DID cover the Bulls during the Jordan era. Boers, I believe, covered the Bears. (I remember them telling stories about Boers and the Silverdome) With regards to the Kobe deal, it almost went down. The sticking point was Deng. The bulls wanted to trade him, but Kobe wouldn't come if they did. So, technically he was right, the last detail just couldnt get done.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Not questioning his sources, but he is way off base on this opinion. maybe. I dunno
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) He must have told you he was a knowledgable NBA guy. He really isn't if that is his opinion. Rose and Wade are not even close to being the same player. knowledge or opinion aside, he does have great contacts after covering the BUlls for so many years.
  8. K.C. Johnson - "And with the local product currently making Chicago his free-agent recruiting base, league sources told the Tribune the Bulls are finalizing details on a Thursday meeting with Wade at the United Center."
  9. Dan LeBatard is reporting that the big three will fit under the cap of a new dark horse team...
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) I heard LeBron is signing with the Chicago Sky no no. You miss heard the report. Since no one actually attends Sky games, he is signing a contract to buy all the seats and give them away as good will to CHicago.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) You think stuff will go down in that hour and a half? Nothing major, i dont think. It will just be interesting to follow the first few hours of rumors and real info that can start being released.
  12. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) Another "rumor" - LBJ contacts Ray Allen to take less money to join him, Bosh and Dwade in Miami for Dream Team http://miamiherald.typepad.com/sedano-says...dream-team.html Right, well since LBJ, Bosh, and Wade will take up all the cap space, Allen will have to make the minimum.
  13. I will not be sleeping from 11:01pm CDT and 12:30.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) he's not going to Wade's town to play with him. I do know that simply from reading up on him over these many years. I guy called the score and said something to the effect of "Have you ever been to Miami? I have. Wade OWNS that town".
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) F*ck Dan LeBatard. sorry dude
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) and i take a bow CLARIFICATION: I was referring to James Jones (he was released.) Have NO IDEA what LeBron will do. Stugotz
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) I agree. That'd then leave us with basically $8 million or so under the cap to go out and sign a starting center and shooting guard. If we can get a solid rebounding/defensive center, than I agree with you. but who could we get?
  18. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) LOL Thats funny. lol yea. It's a simple source though. no need to try and track down 30 twitter accounts when you can go to one place and see them all.
  19. I have to admit, this is really fun to follow. For the record, I think Dan Bernstein is using my LeBron Watch Twitter list. I e-mailed it to him and has since been using tweets off of it.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) If by "Joakim Noah" he means "Luol Deng and Taj Gibson", sure. I'd do that in a heart beat
  21. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Bosh sign and trade apparently was retracted (according to the Score). LeBatard now claims he "heard" about the trade as a possibility, but isnt reporting it as true.
  22. Dan LeBatard - Reporting definitively that James will NOT play for Heat next season. Stugotz
  23. @WojYahooNBA - AJC report that Hawks preparing 6-year Bird Rights deal is devastating news to potential Joe Johnson suitors. He wants to stay in Atlanta.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) You are an animal, AHB! I commend your obsessive behavior! Why thank you
