  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Ryan Field might be a decent substitute. no booze on weekends. I think that was a contributing factor to the Bears going to UofI while Soldier Field was under construction. There is also not a ton of parking over there.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) That movie's going to make so much money. uh huh
  3. Personally, I am not opposed to a second team. but, there are too many hurdles it would need to clear: The city and state dont have enough money to be building a new $400-$500 million stadium There is no way the Bears let another team move into Soldier field without a fight I dont see a realistic way to renovate The Cell or Wrigley to be a "duel purpose" facility Toyota Park wouldn't be a viable option. It would have to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) Then again, the plan for the stadium was cheap material and very bland so they could turn it into a much smaller venue. Well, that was the Olympic plan. Two things could have happened if Chicago got another team: 1) Chicago lands a team before the stadium is built, Chicgao alters the plans to a permanent structure 2) Chicago lands a team after the stadium construction has started, and they renovate it after the Olympics to make it permanent.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) For about what, 30 seconds? I actually think the DNC was really worried by Palin because I bet they had little to nothing on her. Remember, Plain hurt herself more than the DNC hurt her.

  7. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 01:12 PM) both her and Romney. Whomever runs will be hit with the flip-flop alligations, (aka Kerry) The DNC must have been PISSED when Romney wasnt picked. They had to have had entire servers worth of video, pictures, and news articles ready to rollout.
  8. Harry Reid's Tea Party Challenger Owes More Than $200,000 in Back Taxes
  9. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) Not usually one to talk about Sarah Palin very often. But I thought this was interesting. She gave a speech in Calgary recently, and she admitted that her family would border hop into Canada to take advantage of their health care system. http://www.medicinehatnews.com/node/186723 Say good-bye to 2012 Mrs. Palin. Edit: now to be fair, it would seem she was talking about when she was a child... so she didnt have much control over the matter.
  10. Martin and Baldwin were not good at all last night on the Oscars. OUCH!
  11. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Footage taken from inside a cruise ship where a rogue wave struck and killed two passengers. OMG! Wow!
  12. @Adam_Schefter - Seattle is strongly considering signing Broncos restricted free-agent WR Brandon Marshall. If Seattle signs Brandon Marshall to the offer sheet, Broncos would have seven days to match -- or get back the draft's sixth overall pick.
  13. QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) I wonder if this uncapped season is going to bring upon a trend of long-term deals and if this will negatively impact the Bears once this whole cap situation gets figured out. I have a feeling that the Bears are going to regret this in the long haul if they tie these three up. Most of the big contracts being signed this offseason will be heavy upfront
  14. Bernstein just said there is a lot more going on behind the scenes and "draft day will be VERY interesting"
  15. SunTimes reports Peppers is signed
  16. @Jay_Glazer - Peppers and taylor in chicago taking physicals. Kampman on his way to philly for visit NOT seattle. Osgood heading to jags for visit
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) SPENDING IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!! WHY AREN'T WE SPENDING ENOUGH!!! ahh the fun Facebook responses: sure am glad the people of haiti got $100mil from him, while troops get practically nothing
  18. Newest outrage: OMG Obama is only giving the troops a "1.4% pay increase for active duty military in 2011. This is THE LOWEST SINCE 1973!" (psssttt.... because of the economy, I didnt get ANY pay raise!)
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) And if Anderson stays, I like the idea of a possible Peppers (please)/Brown/Anderson as our three primary DE's. Any chance Anderson leaves and we get a 2nd round pick? I'd like that
  20. @JasonLaCanfora - Pats and Eagles have offers on table for Julius Peppers as well as Bears.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 09:45 AM) That is funny. I think you are a little to into the show! Most of the time I can trace where a dream originated in my conscious. This one had it's origins in a recent episode of Ellen. We were over at my parents list night and my sister was watching a DVRed Ellen and she made a joke about the smoke monster being the next bachelor. In my dream, the smoke monster transformed into the giant statue and started walking around.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) Wow. Angelo must have had the McCaskeys kidnapped and stolen their checkbook :notworthy
