Daley Trying To Score 2nd NFL Team??
HuskyCaucasian replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
On a side note, did anyone else think that the Washington Park Olympic stadium was never going to be torn down? I was convinced it was going to be a second... larger.... NFL stadium. -
Daley Trying To Score 2nd NFL Team??
HuskyCaucasian replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The article nails Daley's problem on the head... Soldier Field. Such a small stadium absolutely kills their chance of landing another team. If they could find a way to modify the existing stadium to add 10,000-15,000 more seats, then you have something. But, I dont think there is much wiggle room in that stadium design to add a bunch of more seats. Remember, Soldier Field lost it's landmark statues... so they can do whatever they want now. -

QUOTE (G&T @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Sqwert's link is the best explanation of the technical differences. I don't know what kind of AWD the Santa Fe has so I'll give you my take from experience: I've had a Pathfinder with 4WD, driven a Lexus RX with AWD, and a CR-V with automatic AWD. Brass tacks, in the snow, the 4WD is king followed by full time AWD and automatic AWD. Don't even think of off-roading an auto-AWD. That said, most people don't off-road. The CR-V handles very well in moderate snow. In a bad storm, I would take full time AWD. However, auto-AWD is a nice combination that offers the fuel efficiency of 2WD and the safety of AWD. But nothing is like throwing a Pathfinder into 4WD and and just plowing through a snow pile. Awesome. thanks. So basically 4WD>AWD>2WD. Here is what Edmonds has to say about the Santa Fe AWD: "All Santa Fe models are offered with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive powertrains. The electronically controlled AWD system automatically routes power to the wheels with the best traction. For improved performance in slippery or off-road conditions, a driver-selectable AWD lock provides a fixed 50/50 torque split between the front and rear wheels."

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) Whereas Smokey essentially talks them, letting them decide how to act (choice/free will). I was thinking that too, but then this point was brought up to me: Didn't "Man in Locke" manipulate Ben into killing Jacob?

QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 10:16 PM) I didn't see this posted yet, but I heard on B&B that Thursday's game will be broadcast on the Score at 4pm. Gonna get us a little Farmio! :headbang :headbang

Can someone explain to me in layman's terms what the difference between AWD and 4WD is? I bought a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe last with AWD last night and I am curious how it compares to a 4WD car.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) You say that every week. I only say it when people say "this episode was boring. we didnt learn anything" stuff like that. After 5 years of watching this show, I've learned never to discount an episode, beacuse often it has bigger impacts down the line. Last night's episode was good. I was starting to like Dogan. I'm starting to think Jacob is the evil one, and "man in lock"/smokey/man in black is good.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) Conan's severance contract with NBC keeps him off TV until the fall. Conan, therefore, is considering a live stage show. Potentially touring the country soon. I'd go see him on stage. Why do i have a feeling he'd find a way to interview guests. that would be awesome.

For a number of reasons, I JUST dont see this happening. He wants too much money. It would take too much of a depleted farm system to get him. (I had another season, but I forgot it. lol)

Last night was a very good set-up episode.

Bulls waive Hunter The oldest player in the NBA is done. The Bulls will waive 39 year old Lindsey Hunter and sign Chris Richard for the remainder of the season. The move will come on Wednesday and help to fortify the paper thin front line. Hunter has hardly played this season but will remain around as a quasi coach in waiting. All along he was brought in to tutor Derrick Rose both on and off the court and that won’t change. -
So if my math is right, 600 million metric tons of water is about 1,322,775,960,000 pounds (earth gravity) of water! Being as one gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds, that's roughly 158,606,230,215 gallons of water. that's a s*** load of water!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) I honestly don't see much of a need for realignment right now, I think the divisions are set up fine now. If you were willing to play at least one interleague series at all times of the season, you can throw the Astros into the AL West and even out the leagues at 15. I agree, for the most part, the divisions are logical (regional). If teams move like Detroit, KC, or Tampa move, then i can see some minor adjustments (shifts within the league). For example, if the Rays moved to Vegas, then I could see them moving into the West and leave it as that, or move Texas to the Central and Cleveland to the East. The only way a "radical" realignment happens is if the DH is either abolished by the AL or adopted by the NL. Then you can do some major whole sale changes to create "hyper-regional" match ups (an Idea I love by the way). In a situation like that, you clump teams like the Brewers, Cubs, Sox, Twins, Royals, and Twins in one division. So, for the sake of some fun, here is my "Hyper-Regional" Realignment (it still has some flaws I need to work out)- D1 - Yankees, Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Mets, Washington D2 - Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Toronto D3 - Minnesota, Sox, Kansas City, St. Louis, Cubs, Milwaukee D4 - Tampa Bay, Florida, Atlanta D5 - Texas, Houston, Arizona, Colorado D6 - Angels, Seattle, Oakland, Dodgers, San Francisco, San Diego Note, i did NOT give the divisions names or leagues. In a massive realignment scenario, there would be a LOT of politics as to what divisions go in what league.

I am working on my alignment idea, but I need to know how much KC and St. Louis consider themselves "rivals". I want to put them in the same division, but it messes with the rest of my idea. So far, my break down has The 6 team divisions, a 5 team, a 3 team, and a 4 team. So, I need to do some shifting.

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) Has there been talk of expansion? I wouldn't be surprised...and I wouldn't be surprised if the Rays are moved eventually. I think it's only a matter of time. they have a crazy lease. So, it'll take a strong pull to get them out.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) GOP leadership promises to get it done, so they convince Kyl and the rest of the party to vote yes. They bring it up to vote again, today, and... Bunning says no again. Hey, if he doesnt want to get elected again, that's up to him.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 10:05 AM) I am being texted by a friend in Chicago that the Score is reporting the Sox are in "serious talks" with the Padres about a Beckham for AGon swap. You guys hearing this? Just listened to a "Scoreboard Update" on the Score... no mention of a trade at all.
