Rumor: Hillary Clinton to Concede Dem Nomination
HuskyCaucasian replied to BigSqwert's topic in The Filibuster
I got to thinking this afternoon... Clinotn is absolutely setting herself up fro 2012. Here is why: With all the rumors floating around about her wanting the VP and one of her "people" saying he got the OK from her to begin pushing for her to be VP. She hasnt conceded. Why all this? If it is PUBLIC she wants to be VP and Obama says "no", which it seems he will say it makes him look REALLY bad to her supporters. They wont vote for him out of spite. He looses. She is setup PERFECTLY for 2012. -
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) that's not the sole reason it's biased... This is all you need to see...

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) that's not the sole reason it's biased... They pretty much use Republican talking points and memos to shape their news coverage. Remember when they started drumming up the case for war with Iran the EXACT same time Bush was? hmmmm.....

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:55 PM) Some quality entertainment from TPM regarding McCain's speech last night. It's about 5 minutes long but worth watching all the way through. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/198681.php that guys comment on his smile is dead on! It seems so forced lame.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 11:45 AM) oh and ps, my dad just declared for Obama. one more delegate to add to the list. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) And not surprising. As far to the right as Fox News is, MSNBC is just as far to the left. Well, I wouldnt go THAT far. If I had to rank them numerically (1 being far left, 10 being far right), I'd put MSNBC at 2.5 and Fox News at 9.5. I cant get a read on CNN, but I think about a 4. As for ABC News, I never watch it, no idea.

Obama just WHACKED McCain on his "support" for divestment and increased pressure on Iran. Basically, He said "I put forth a bi-partisan bill to put the screws on on Iran. John McCain did NOT support it and there is a secret senator who is blocking the bill"

Rumor: Hillary Clinton to Concede Dem Nomination

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 07:37 AM) This was the trademark of the Clinton Administration, and for a long, long time, it was cheered. I don't get why everyone is so shocked that this is the way they conducted their business, when it has been their history, and to be honest, what they got rewarded for in the past. The whole point of Hillary running was to get Bill Clinton 2.0. They got him, now everyone is upset. LMAO. Someone on one of the cable networks made a GREAT comment last night. He supporters started shouting "Denver. Denver". At that moment, she could have quieted them down. Eased the situation and made it clear Obama has won. Instead... she basked in the glow and sucked it all. -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) Is Clinton Already Planning For the Creditor Calls? Hi, this is Hilary, please leave a message... I love Rachel Maddow. She said just said Clinton wont answer his call until 3AM. Update: MOMENTS after she said that it is reported that Obama and Hillary have indeed talked and agreed to meet "soon" -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) I'm not sure about the VP slot, because I don't know what Obama might want to do with that, but I'll bet that other than that he could get any position he wants. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he wound up with HHS or the AG slot in an Obama administration. Edwards has pretty much said he doesnt want to do that VP thing again. BUT, man... it'd be REALLY hard not to run with Obama and ride his coat tales if I were him. Especially with all the polls (yes it is early) that show Obama / Edwards literally DESTROYS McCain in the general. 8 years of Obama followed by 8 years of Edwards. Hard to pass up. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) yeah... part of me would looove an Edwards VP but I know he doesn't want it - which I completely respect. but I think that you will see poverty resurface in some way, shape or form with Edwards spearheading it, at some point in the future. yea. and Obama said he has adopted Edwards poverty policy / campaign. It was the "tipping point" in the Edwards endorsement. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) well i think we'll see her facing reality within the next couple days. thing is, she didn't face reality in the same way that huckabee didn't face reality for the last legs of his campaign, ron paul never faced reality. politicians really CANT face reality if they're to maintain their hold on their supporters. You've GOT to keep them going to keep your issues alive. Because once you're out of the race, those people will want to see your issues live on. for the ROn Paul cmment. As for the dead issues, kinda lke what happened to Edwards, right? It's unfortunate he kinda went away after he dropped out. I've said to you before that Edwards was my #2 love. I still dream of Obama / Edwards or Obama / Richardson. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) Huckabee conceeded the night that McCain clinched their delegate count, March 4th (Texas/Ohio). Here's his comparatively gracious speech. YOu can all tell how much of a centralist I am. i really liked huck. I would have still voted for Obama because of Iraq and health care, but as a PERSON, i liked him a lot. Policies... not so much. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) right but huckabee didn't run a massively long campaign and 18 million voters that deserve an easier letdown than her coming out and saying "no" when they were chanting "denver", as some CNN analyst said she should have... idiotic. good point. but it IS over when you lose. There is NO shame in saying 'hey I lost". In fact, I RESPECT people who can face reality. She hasnt faced reality for the better part of a month, -

After McCain became the presumptive nominee, how long was it until Huckabee conceded? I honestly dont remember. I thought it was that night. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) ... yeah, so did the germans. and before i get flamed i don't think obama is hitler-esque in any way shape or form, i'm just saying the ability to control people so thoroughly is a bit creepy to me. NOT if it is for a good cause. I dont see universal health care, an end to the war, and education reform as bad things to motivate people to do. But, I do completely understand what you mean.
