  1. Obama can motivate me to go fight for my country in Afghanistan. McCain couldn't motivate me to move my car because I am blocking him in at a dinner party. I want a president who can motivate.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) Oh trust me, I've been thinking of that scary scenario lately. My wife just said (half jokingly, half serious) that she thinks Hillary wants to be VP so she can knock him off and become president.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Do not question McCain-o-tron3000. can I change my user name? jk
  4. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Wait, she didn't concede tonight? She must really hoping for a disaster within the Obama campaign. That or holding out for Obama to pay off her debts or make her vp. Well, ya know.... Bobby Kennedy was assassinated (CLinton said it, not me).
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) "I will be making no decisions tonight" she's as much of an assclown as here RBC supporters on Saturday.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) You're welcome. God Bless the people of Iowa. My future home state.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) Unreal. He just yelled out "Are you ready for the next president of the United States of America!!!!" as he introduced her. What a bunch of delusional people in that campaign. wait, what? are you serious? Maybe they really ARE hoping for the assassination thing.
  8. Hillary takes the stage... let's see what happens. Update (Live Blogging/Typing): Clinton thanks Obama and his supporters Says Obama has done great things Thanks all the states and her constituency Says the people have said with their votes that she is the strongest candidate for president Says 18 million people have voted for her, more than any other in history Says hard working people (aka working whites) have supported her Says she has won enough states to win the general election (VP plug?) Seems to still be fighting for the nomination Proud she "stayed the course" (nice Bushism) Every single United States Citizen has voted Committed to uniting the party Talking about the people she has met across the country "None of you are inviable to me" (except those people in caucuses states... which dont count) What Do I Want? I want to end the war. Turn around the economy. Universal Health Care....
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) McCauliffe speaking now at the Clinton rally. I find that guy to be quite annoying. and Mr Icky (my new name for him)
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:22 PM) Let's just add, CQ= Congressional Quarterly, which sits behind a subscription wall. Here's the data table on McCain's votes for and against Bush for the last 8 years, also...since as I keep saying, it's just folly to plot up the votes of people who are off campaigning for a higher position, because they only show up for the strongly contested ones. Year Support Oppose 2008 (through May 15, 2008) 100% 0% 2007 95% 5% 2006 89% 11% 2005 77% 23% 2004 92% 8% 2003 91% 9% 2002 90% 10% 2001 91% 9% those numbers sting. well... not me, but McCain who is DESPERATELY trying to distance himself from Bush while letting Bush run fund raisers for him.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:16 PM) Damn. That took freaking forever. I told my wife back in December, if Clinton wins Iowa... it's over. She is the nominee. Obama would fight, but it was over. It is like a rolling stone down a hill. HOWEVER, if Obama can win Iowa, he's got a real shot. It's still hard, but the stone doesnt budge off the hill just yet.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:15 PM) Do you have a link for that? http://thinkprogress.org/2008/05/28/mccain...e-time-in-2008/ And that was only the times he was ACTUALLY there to vote. He's missed more votes in the last two years than any person in the senate.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) Yes and they didn't even bother to go back to show the rest of it. HAHAHA! AWESOME!
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) I know I may sound like a sissy but I just got shivers up my spine when Olbermann officially declared Obama the nominee a moment ago. I am at work, did they interrupt McCain to announce it?
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) I can't help but to laugh at all the Obama haters that kept saying how he just talks fluff and has no substance to his speeches. After 15 minutes of Obama bashing and forced one-liners I'm wondering where McCain's substance is. Double standard if I ever saw one. Oh he did that a while back. Remember that speech he gave (I think it was the 2012 speech). He opened saying Obama has no real plans. Then goes on tot talk about what the world would look like in 2012 after his first term... WITH NO DETAILS ON HOW TO GET THERE.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) Well, at least it's not lifted from an anti-depressant.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) Since we are all Sox fans, can we sing "na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey hey hey, GOODBYE? :headbang
  18. Every time I hear him speak, I hear one of two things... He sounds like he is reading an speech to a 5 year old... dull and mono-tone with odd inflections (Al Gore 2000??) "Forced" Anger. It sound like he isnt mad, but he wants to sound angry to sound forceful. Oh, and he has this odd forced smile.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) McCain giving an uninspiring speech in front of 100 people in Louisiana. *yawn* McCain officially begins the general election with a banner that says "A Leader We Can Believe In" Is that REALLY the best he can come up with??
  20. McCain officially begins the general election with a banner that says "A Leader We Can Believe In" hmmmm.... Is that REALLY the best he can come up with??
  21. This is pretty funny. MSNBC is saying that the Clinton people want Obama to offer her the VP spot. BUT, Obama will only offer it to her if she agrees in advance to decline it. lol
  22. Might I suggest 2 other threads? One for VP debates (make this a single thread, not divided) and one for tracking polls.
