  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Who gives a s*** how they advertise, even if it was on purpose. Even if the ad was in arabic, I don't care. amen brother!
  3. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ May 28, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) I had one of those. then you clearly support terrorist governments

  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 28, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) Maybe it's more than meets the eye.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:56 AM) Obama needs to make sure he doesn't say this out loud again lol that's classic!
  7. Talk about a VERY flawed poll...
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2008 -> 09:08 AM) The arguement falls down right there. You can't apply people's feelings today to how they would have voted months ago. The poll was conducted the day of the Michigan primary, not recently. So, it reflects the minds of the people back when the vote was originally cast.
  9. If primaries can get their own threads, this deserves one too. This from the Boston Globe... Dem lawyers: Fla., Mich. can't be fully restored As for those "uncommitted" Michigan Votes, well, Hillary says Obama should get none. But the exit polls show differently: If these had been the candidates on the ballot today, for whom would you have voted in the Democratic presidential primary? Hillary Clinton - 46% John Edwards - 12% Barack Obama - 35% With a full field, she doesnt even break 50%. That drastically alters her "popular vote" argument. I did some number crunching: Based on my numbers, Obama leads the popular vote +468,909. With FL and not MI, Obama +174,137. With FL and MI (MI base don exit polls), Obama +108,753. And this all assumes that "disenfranchised" Obama supporters did not come out to vote since he wasnt on the ballot.
  10. I am not sure if thi shas been posted or not, but... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24844889
  11. I want to draw an interesting comparison. For YEARS it was rumored that the president knew about the attack on pearl Harbor before it happened, but he let it happen to draw us into the war. To an extent, that has been since disproven... but this case there seems to be ACTUAL evidence of misleading the public into war.
  12. This warrants it's own thread in my opinion. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24848910/ http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/27/mcc...book/index.html
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) I think that's a great idea, but I LOL'd when I read that quote about McCain saying he'd educate Obama along the way. Not that he couldn't do that, but its just such a political statement, couched in this air of cooperation, I had to laugh. God I hope McCain doesnt try and educate ANYONE on Iraq. They'd be all confused as to who the SUnni and s***e are.
  14. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ May 27, 2008 -> 08:04 AM) I hate Uribe NO argument here. He would have been riding the bench since opening day if it were me.
  15. I have no doubt in my mind that when Uribe is healthy, he'll be back at 2B. THat is just how Ozzie works.
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ May 25, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Well I think its been pretty obvious Noah has always enjoyed his ganga. his hair says it all. I guess I just assumed he did it. Now it is confirmed.
  17. I chose "Voluntarily working" but I think I am using in a way that it is not meant. i worked as a volunteer at the Vietnam Traveling wall here in schaumburg. What an AMAZING weekend. Very moving with some great musical performances and VIP speeches at the programs. Ya know, it means a lot when the co-owner of the wall walks up to you personally and says "you did an incredible job". It means a lot.
  18. This is how you can tell Obama is trying VERY carefully not to make it seem like he is pushing he rout of the race: His campaign has pretty much said "we dont think it was malicious and she has every right to stay in". Let the record show, if this had been Obama making those comments about CLinton, she'd be down his throat with it and all over the media showing how he is a horrible man. Olbermann had a great point: her "apology" wasn't really that. She said she regretted her comment. Kinda sorta apologized to the Kennedys and NEVER mentioned Obama.
  19. I wanted to get your thoughts on this. Is Bobby Jenks one of the most underrated players in Major League Baseball? You never hear him mentioned as one of the elite closers, but he is one save away from 100 career saves in only his 3rd full season. For compression: Mariano Rivera got his 100th save in his 3rd full season as a closer. Yes Rivera is on a whole other level, but think about it.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2008 -> 03:51 PM) Of all the tight races in the past why bring up an assassination? yea, really bad. i would NEVER use and assassination or Nazi reference especially about someone or a current situation. Those seem taboo to me. ESPECIALLY, when there is that afore mentioned fear of an assassination attempt on Obama. When she makes a statement like that, I think it proves that in the back of her head she's thinking "hey, this guy could be assassinated. I should stick this out just in case." Even if that is a minor factor in her still being in the race, it's disgusting.
  21. Bill had the nomination wrapped up by March. it wasnt OFFICIAL until June, but he was the presumptive nominee back in March.
  22. New Projections: Based on MSNBC's Delegate Count, if we include FL and MI as is (this includes Obama getting NO delegates from MI), Obama would need only 19 of the 55 "uncommitted" MI delegates, if Clinton wins Puerto Rico 60-40 and they split Montana and SD 50-50, to win 50%+1 of the pledged delegates. If the proposal to count FL as half happens, Obama only needs 7 of the 55, assuming MI doesn't count as half as well. If MI gets counted as half as well, Obama doesnt need any of the MI delegates and only needs to net 12 dlegates from Puerto Rico to clinch 50%+1. This does not factor in the 11 Edwards delegates in FL, 50+% of who will most likely switch to Obama
