So, my wife's grandpa died this morning (we'd been expecting it). But, now my wife wants to drive from Chicago to Iowa tonight... yea, during the blizzard. This isnt going to end well for me. I understand the idea of owning guns to defend yourself against the government. I get the origins of the amendment. However... this was before the government developed flying aircraft and precision missiles. The idea that "I own guns to defend myself against the government" is out of date.

This will probably get political, but my god. Always tell your kids "I love you" before they leave for school, or anytime they leave your presence.

For many many years I have considered myself an independent, probably with a leaning toward democrat. I have issues that I side with on both sides of the aisle and I dont like being told "your a democrat because you support universal health care" or "your a republican because you oppose abortion". I think forcing people into republic or democrat does not accurately reflect the political views of a great majority of Americans.
