QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) At first glance, I give the girl and the new guy 6 months to a year at most. They are at 2 completely different points in their lives. One isnt ready to be a parent and the there is looking for nice tatas and a warm nether region.

Interviewed yesterday for "Stage Technician" job at a local community theater (or is it theatre?). It's only part time, but it's flexible hours, so i can work around my current job. I felt it went extremely well.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) They don't want the Geological Society back because we didn't gamble enough. There's a joke there somewhere... I just havent figured it out yet

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) Unions get reflexively blamed for everything any time something goes wrong. Ignoring the fact that there's 2 sides in negotiations. It's always the union. What happened is irrelevant, the union should've taken whatever s***ty deal was offered no matter how bad it was and be grateful anybody wanted to employ them. Too often, in my opinion, they get TOO powerful and think they deserver more than they do.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Every building downtown requires union workers, from electricians to movers. It's pathetic. When my firm moved offices, we needed to install an electric card thingy for the door to unlock it. The job took 4 hours with about 4 people. To run on electrical wire and hook it up. The grand cost? 3,000 bucks. That's the problem with unions and why the majority of Americans think they're bogus. We should have been able to hire a one-man electrician owning his own business that would have gotten the job done in an hour and charged a couple hundred bucks tops. This is why a lot of trade show are going to places like Orlando, they dot have to deal with over the top unions. (Didnt Chicago/Illinois recently change the union rules for McCormick Place?)

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 27, 2012 -> 09:11 AM) That exact situation essentially ruined one of my good friend's relationship with his then girlfriend. They started, she got weirded out and left, and he and the other girl kept having fun. She didn't know why he didn't stop, he didn't know why she left, and sex itself actually lost its intimacy at that point in time. Well, that's a fail on so many levels there. I mean, seriously, how does someone keep going after their GF walks out???

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) https://twitter.com/11W/status/272780921449639936/photo/1 Bernstein said Illinois is actively working "back channels" to get a specific coach to replace Beckman that people will like. If they get him, Beckman will be fired. If they cant get him, Beckman will stay for at least another year. -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) My node is 10 feet from my doorstep and I have their highest cable package which is 24 down. With headers and all that taken into account, I get about 1.2mbps of actual download speed at best. Compare that to WOW in which I got 2mbps solid and up to 2.5 while having their 15mbps cable internet package. Xfinity also blows their internet out of the water as well. Also, you have to use their gateway which sucks IMO, and since you have IPTV, that takes up 25% of your bandwidth. If you're watching tv, and someone else is streaming, you can forget about downloading a file or even streaming youtube. Wow, really? I've never run across this. I have their 3mbps down and 1 up package and I consistently get pretty close to 3 down all the time.

I have it and I really like it. My parents had it, but they had problems. However, in their case, I think they had some older wiring in the house that caused the problem. We were early adopters. they began offering UVerse in my neighborhood the month before we moved it. So, we had some issues early on, but it's been pretty solid ever since. I like it for a few reasons. 1) record up to 4 channels at once. I use this more often than I wish to admit. 2) Channel arangement. The channels are grouped by "kind" (news, sports, family). The HD versions of those channels are the channel+1000. So, ESPN SD is 602, HD is 1602. HGTV SD is 450, HGTV HD is 1450. SO, it's super easy to find the HD version os SD channels. Plus, all the HD channels are together, so I rarely ever look at the SD part of the channel guide. 3) The user interface is pretty solid. Much better than Comcast.

QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) Sounds good in movies but that's real life trouble. Pretty much that. She'd prefer to know the person, but no one we know would be into the idea... and i think it would be very awkward if we were friends with them. However, she doesnt want to look for some random person online. So, it's a bit of a complicated situation.

Report: Max Baucus wants to preserve estate-tax cut This strikes close to home for me. My wife's grandfather is close to dying and has a ton of land in Iowa. As things are setup now, if he does and "the fiscal cliff" occurs, his children will be liable for a crap load of taxes that will most likely require them to sell off a lot of land just to cover it. This is not what he wants for his children. The land is supposed to be passed on as whole to his kids.

QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) So how long did you actually watch the movie? QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) Wow. So many questions. I'll just say, "more information please!" Kidding. But it's cool the wife would go for that. Did the movie have a plot? Just wonder what kinda XX movies wives will tolerate. Well, we watched the movie for about 10-15 minutes. That seemed to rev up the wife pretty good. In what can only be a positive sign of tings to come, she was very turned on by the lesbian scene...
