@JonHeymanCBS Its not the #dodgers for youkilis. #chisox appear the most likely winner, but still checking. -

@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Indians “longshot” for Youkilis. #Dodgers minimal contact with #RedSox today. Signs point to #WhiteSox, #Pirates or another club. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:13 AM) So I had those new McDonald's Orange Artic shakes. They are pretty damn good, and now my burps smell like fruit loops. There's a place at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World that sells something called the Citrus Swirl. Oh it's delicious. It's soft serve ice cream swirled with frozen orange juice.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:32 AM) The RT version (tablet version) of this product has no backwards compatibility and is locked into using Metro. Only the pro (and much bigger/more expensive version) runs full Windows 8+Metro. While pricing doesn't yet exist, they said it would be on par with ultrabooks. That would probably mean in the 1200$ range...which is expensive, but worth it for such a product. $1200? Oh, for that I CAN get an ipad and a laptop. eek. I though they said they were going to be closer to other TABLETS, not ultrabooks. EDIT: Ok, I was partially right. the RT version will be priced like other ARM tablets, the Pro version will be priced like ultrabooks.

as someone who works for a school, this is a very interesting product. Many applications used by the students for testing are Windows only. There is a desire by me to get more tablets into the hands of the students. But we dont have money to get iPads AND laptops. So, if I could get a tablet and a Windows PC in one, it is very compelling.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:18 AM) Is this serious or are you making a joke reference to the Windows 98 unveiling when Bill Gates said it would freeze less and then had it freeze on him? No, I'm serious. He was trying to use IE and open a gaming app and it locked up and he had to go grab another one to continue his presentation.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405...=googlenews_wsj A Microsoft tablet running Windows 8 on an x86 processor? If it has good enough battery, I want one. It's pretty impressive. But I had to laugh that during the web browsing, gaming, and app demonstration the guys tablet froze and he had to swap it out.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) The most common is firstname.lastname I wish the system had been setup that way years ago before I got here. I'd hate to make such a drastic shift. But I do agree it's a better naming convention.

Need a little IT advice. I manage my organizations Email system. Our email addresses have always been First Initial, Last name followed by @(companyname).com. For example, Ben Smith would be [email protected]. First the first time ever, we have a situation where two people have the same first initial and last name. I am conflicted on how to handle this. Should the new employee be first initial, middle initial and last name. or [email protected]? I am worked first initial, middle initial and last name will look too much like the other one which is just first initial and last name and that might cause people to accidentally send email to the wrong person.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Ouch! Just as ICS is rolling out on that device. I havent heard about any official T-Mobile G2X support foe ICS. I've only seen mods. I prefer official releases.

I just shattered the screen on my barely 8 month old T-Mobile G2X. I dont have the money to get a new phone right now. Are there any good/reliable cellphone repair places that will replace the screen? THere's a "hole in the wall" place near me, but I get worried about places like those. I like quality and reputation.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 10:41 AM) Yea it's more for a special interest, or for their business. I was talking to my cousin who is a graphic designer for a major tourist attraction in the SE United States () and he'd love the retina display in an iMac. Add a retina Wacom tablet and he'd be in heaven.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) Has to. And then Pat Riley and Co. need to take a look in the mirror and fire themselves. You have to give them the Bosh injury. But they've done a piss-poor job of putting together a sufficient cast around their stars. Other than Chalmers, there isn't one player on this roster I would accept a free autograph from. The problem is they packed that roster with three max players and didnt leave them much money left over to fill in with quality supporting cast. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 12:28 AM) Anyone else get the boredem vibe from the heat tonight? It almost seemed like they didn't want to be there. I've said for a while you can beat the Heat if you can get into their heads. Unlike other teams they've faced int he playoffs so far, the Celtics have the man power to take advantage of getting in their heads. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 08:16 AM) You'd be better off stripping on the side, Husky Caucasian No one wants to see that... not even my wife!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 07:43 PM) One of the scientists here described it as like watching paint dry, except you can't see it happen again for 100+ years. lol that's a pretty smart remark by him. I get the rarity of it, but, blah, i dunno. Things like this are neat, but not really news worthy to me I guess. Now if it crashed into the sun, i'd watch that.

I'm honestly not sure where to put this. I had it in the catch-all, but it's more job related. So, I thought I'd post it here instead. I graduated college in 2005 with a degree in radio broadcasting, but currently work in IT. I often regret not sticking with my original plan to major in Architecture. There's been something nagging me about that career path recently, I just dont know why. But I think the time in my life to go to school has passed. I'm almost 29 (yes, still young), but my current job doesn't give me a lot of time or money. Plus, I have two kids under 4. I'm about to finish paying of my wife's and my college loans next year. the idea of incurring MORE loans even if I COULD find time to go back to school is bothersome. If there are any architects around this forum, what would a "second career" architect school path look like? Would it even really be feasible?
