I need to vent: A few months back, my boss announced he is retiring in October of next year. I've been needing some additional help (I rely on volunteers) with some things that I do. When I asked for help getting some more people involved, he told me "maybe my replacement will help you." (paraphrased) The good news is that he is retiring in 11 months. The bad news is I need the help NOW! And just today I've had people asking me to do something that I dont have the volunteers to do. I was asked: "well, cant you just do both at the same time?" umm... no, I can not be in two places at once and you rely on me WAY too much. I have been actively looking for a new job since May and I will be very happy when I get a new job and see how much they miss me covering their asses all the time.
