QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) I disagree, I thought that this would happen for a long time. It keeps some continuity for cutler in language, and it's clear that the team really liked Tice, and want to give him the shot. I think Tice is a tremendous coach and I think if he succeeds here he should get another shot at OC. Obviously the moss rule failed for everyone, but I like the fact that he was so open to looking for those tendencies and working them in. I should clarify, I meant an OUTSIDE OC. Someone who would bring in his own system knwoing that in a year his boss (Lovie) could be fired. I like this idea of how they are dealing with the OC position. -

They will be hiring a new OL coach and a QB/Passing Game coach. -

I think they were smart enough to know that no one would want to be the OC under a lame duck coach. -
Man, Brandon Short is a D-Bag.

So, Penn States needs to hire a Penn State guy. Can we go back in time and retroactively not hire Joe Paterno?

Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?

QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 01:09 PM) Deck McGuire sounds like a fake name. It also sounds like the bully or star QB love interest from an 80's high school movie. Or something you want to do to Mark. -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 08:24 AM) Oh yea, the benefits are supposed to be out of this world, not to mention the work atmosphere they have. I should've been a CS major instead of an IT major, because apparently if you're a CS major with an outgoing personality you can get a job anywhere. Same here. Goign into my senior year of high school I had three options i was looking at: Architecture, Computer Science/IT, Radio Broadcasting. I went with Radio Broadcasting.... I havent stepped into a radio station since I graduated college... and I am now an IT with no "IT" degree.

Should this be in a new thread? dunno, but two pieces of good news... 1) Have a 15min phone interview tomorrow which is most likely a precursor to a face-to-face interview in a few weeks. 2) A friend of mine passed my resume on to his boss and he's apparently very interested in me. I need to get him a revised resume by noon tomorrow and I'll probably have an interview within the next week.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) Mike Martz "resigned" when he didn't have a contract. How does that work? I was thinking that too, then I thought that I bet the contract expires at the end of the NFL season, not the Bears season. So, he might have been under contract until Feb. Just leaving a month early. -

Is it really "resigning" if his contract was up? -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) That might be, but Bill still had veto power I would assume. If he thought Chris was making bad personnel decisions he should have stopped it. This is why you never work with/for family/friends. My dad learned this one the hard way. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) Because the Colts showed this season that they have a stockpile of talent after Manning... I'll pass on Polian. The point Hub was making is that many in the Colts org feel that the team went down hill after Bill turned the team over to his son. The drafts and player management was bad after Chris took over. Bill built it, and Chris ruined it. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 10:03 AM) LOL! Earth to Bears fans. Nothing like this is going to happen. The end. Oh I know... but a guy can wish, cant he? -

Hub is reporting on The Score that Irsay went to Bill Polian and told him to fire his son (there were people revolting inside the organization against Chris), and Bill refused, so they both got fired. Hub said the Bears should call Bill Polian right away. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) It's a great day!! I think Lovie gets a bad rap and is still a pretty solid coach, but Fisher/Cowher are two all-time greats. Wonder if Cowher would want to be the GM? Cowher/Fisher 2012? -

The problem with the Polians is they haven't exactly done a great job in Indy the last few years either. Draft problems. -

I think Lovie stays, and if they team fails next year, then he's gone.
