QUOTE(innersanctum @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) I got an email from the Peoria Chiefs to let me know that Nomar is going to be playing at home this week in Peoria doing his rehab stint. Why is he doing his rehab in Peoria rather than Des Moines? I know this is a Sox board, but I am just curious if anyone has any insight as to why Class A instead of Class AAA for Nomar. Peoria is closer than Des Moines. Plus, single A is usually the place that severely injured players go to rehab.

Then, they shall ban boards with nails in them. Then the world will be ruled by ruffians with pointy sticks.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) So I think the conclusion is that Burnett can be good and can be bad, too? Am I right? Similar to Contreras.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Ahh, which brings to mind the quote of the famous philosopher/poet Nuke Cleveland. "Eat s***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "I eat pieces of s*** like you for breakfast." "Ugh. You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast?!"

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) Buehrle throws 89, Burnett 98. If Buehrle is off his game he will give up runs. Burnett can get away with alot more mistakes, and still not give up any runs. Burnett throwing 98 and having pitching mistakes is like Contreras throwing 98 or Jenks throwing 98 and having pitching mistakes. The ball just travels farther than if it was thrown 89.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) NFC NORTH 1. Packers 2. Vikings (WC) 3. Lions 4. Bears Pack always find a way to get it done and viks defense has improved dramatically, therefore both make the playoffs. The bears and lions are just laughable, improved but not good enough. If Rex Grossman and the O-Line remain healthy this year. The Bears will make the playoffs with their weak schedule. You heard it here first. -
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) What is the deal with you guys wanting Griffey... I mean last time I checked this isn't 1998... 1995, more like.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Name them I've seen them, you've seen them. I don't remember the exact games.

Hermanson has been anything but overpowering when converting his saves. He has been fortunate so far on at least 5 or 6 occasions that that defense has bailed him out.
-
Would the trade proposals that I made, be feasable? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...78entry793478
-
This means that we would platoon Rowand and Dye if Griffey would come on...right? I would hope that KW offers a decent prospect or two then, so that Cincy will pay the deferred $$. 2025? Heh. NO way.
-
Cincy wouldn't have a place for Carl. He can't play a consistant OF, but when he does, it tends to be in LF. Unfortunately, Dunn is stuck in LF because he can't play 1b because Casey is there. Dunn is about equal to Carl in LF prowess, and I doubt that Cin wants to have Dunn and Everett in the same OF.
-
Alright, geez. Don't have to burn me at the stake, I was just asking a question. I missed the game today, but I noticed that he gave up a run in the ninth for the second time in three days. Hermanson is the closer, I'm cool with that. I was just speculating.
-
He still allowed the run to be knocked in. He's been shaky, not dominant like you'd expect from a closer.
-
Two games in a row he's given up a run in the 9th. Is his back still hurting him or is he just coming back down to the real world? Should Marte/Politte/Cotts/Jenks get a shot at closing a few games? Would Wagner/Batista be more important to this team than Burnett/Schmidt?

QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) I think you've got it right my friend!! There was a game last week where he answered someones e-mail, and as far as eating goes, he says he doesn't eat anything during the game, and that he'll go through 4 diet pepsi's per game. Do NOT go IN there! WHEWWWW!

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Did you read the post I was quoting? He was talking about chicken being half done not being as good as when it's done. He said that was Gio. My bad.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) I could use the same poultry analogy with Brandon. Give him more of a chance. Poultry analogy? "Don't count your chickens until their hatched?" "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?" "Why did the chicken cross the road?"
