  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Would you like to bet on that? What's to bet? There's an uproar by the swing voters, the incumbent "house cleaning" occurs, and the house changes over majority every 6 to 8 years. The side that takes control thinks, "Man we're really going to do stuff now!"...and nothing of great significance ever gets done. Keep your rose-colored glasses on if you want, but all of politics is a huge bureaucratic joke - no matter who's in "power."
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:53 AM) Biggest swing since social security was passed. I'd say the biggest swing in 60+ years is a pretty powerful mandate of sorts. ...and it will swing back the other way by about 2014.
  3. QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) Merry-go-rounds are fun. This is more like the mood swings of a toddler. Not if the motor in it is dead and you have to manually push it.
  4. QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) Revolution? I don't think so. Anymore than 2008 was a revolution. Cycle, maybe. Pendulum, maybe. Revolution, hardly. Merry-Go-Round
  5. Looks like the merry-go-round gets pushed back to the right. All of this "change" is making me dizzy.
  6. Former Reds and Tigers manager Sparky Anderson is in hospice care due to complications resulting from dementia. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/da...-hospice-care/1
  7. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) Meh, sounds like work, but as long as I can drink a beer while writing about beer I'm game. General info. Maybe two or three paragraphs. Where it's made, its history, how it tastes, your personal memory or someone else's personal memory of it.
  8. If someone wants to write the bio for each beer, I can do the beer list. /I'm lookin' at you, Flaxx
  9. The Sox need a reliable RF with decent defense that hits left-handed. If this was 2005, Dunn would fit this need easily.
  10. Video Games would definitely have to be narrowed down by age or system.
  11. "Quietly so no one sees..." is getting a lot of notice.
  12. How many hits is he short of 3,000... 201? Nevermind.
  13. Living next to a rental house really sucks.
  14. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) What game did you hear them announce? They do football games sometimes.
  15. I still like the famous facial haired people in athletics idea.
  16. I saw it, but I figured that no one cared.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) {what are these guys called?} Braces
  18. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 03:56 AM) I too still have VHS tapes. Now they're stored in a box in the back of my closet and they're the tapes that I'm too sentimental to throw out because I got them as gifts. Plus some are my favorite films, such as "Mad Max 2: the Road Warrior", even though I also have a copy of it on dvd. Plus... I still use a vcr to record stuff. :/ I sent you a PM.
  19. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 03:33 AM) I never heard of Intellivision. It's amazing how fast technology go from being relevant to obsolete. Funny story, but I was talking to a 21-year old co-worker the other day and it made me feel old... The subject of digital cable came up, and I mentioned how it was a "shame" that kids nowadays won't be able to enjoy watching scrambled porn, and my 21-year old co-worker didn't even know what scrambled porn was! That made me feel old, and I'm 25! It's funny, cause I went up to another co-worker that was the same age as me and asked him if he knew what scrambled porn was, and he did. I guess even in my generation that I'm part of the older "Generation Y/Millennials" that remember the older analog technology. lol I'm 12 years older than you. I still have a giant VHS collection that I'm stuck with.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) My family had to put my dog to sleep tonight while I'm away at school. I'm a wreck. I've been there man. I'm sorry for your loss.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) Favorite mustaches, in commemoration of No-shave November I like it!
  22. "The iPhone: Now in 3D!" /runs to phone store
  23. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) I'm really happy for Rowand and Uribe it's just awesome that their careers brought them here. Also, hell of a thing for Posey and Renteria. I wouldn't be suprised if Renteria retires and chooses to go out like this. That would be an ending fitting for the start. Who else can say that they scored deciding Series runs in one of their first and last seasons and won titles both years?
