I'm just saying that guys who decline offers are looking for a payday. Whether it's with the Sox or not, remains to be seen.
-
I'd deal both Danks', Viciedo and maybe Morel and a lower level SP. Flowers will be needed late this season or early next season and if Danks1 is gone, Hudson's going to be needed immediately. If the Sox get Gonzalez, they don't need Viciedo and Teahen is young enough to afford losing Morel.

Fantasy Baseball Commissioner Ideas

Salary cap/auction might be fun. -
Honestly, I'd almost rather trade John Danks than Daniel Hudson in any Gonzalez/SD trade. With the way Danks1 has refused contract buyouts, he's almost certain to leave via free agency the first chance he gets.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) I think he's saying he hung out with the one he likes last night... I was just saying that the way she reacted to him before and after the first time, it was more like a friend interested in setting him up with someone, than it was a girl interested in seeing him.

QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) Evidently some people didn't read about last night. Go back a page, read my most current post about last night. Things were a lot better and I didn't get wingman-ed. I had a blast and have the opportunity to hang out again next week. Hell to the yes. You had someone that thinks of you as a friend invite you to a bar where you got dumped onto the ugly friend while she got with another guy. Sounds like a version of Wingman-ing to me.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) If they really want more respect, they can start by not looking like slobs. That drives me nuts. Some of these CPD guys, they might as well wear a sign on their forehead that says "mess with me". There's a reason why Troopers don't get f***ed with nearly as often, and get more respect - and it isn't their cars. Its that they look like someone you wouldn't want to mess with. They're in at least reasonably good physical shape, uniform is crisp and clean, equipment nice and shiny, and most importantly, they have command presence. Because they want a f***ing liter of cola?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Because you can take your supplies up-slope with you. As long as you're >30 feet above sea level, anything you take is pretty much safe. Mauna Kea, for example, rises 14,000 feet. So you're in pretty good shape. I'm sure. I was just making a general observation, not asking a real question. Geez. Look at those morons watching the waves come in on the webcam.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) The warning suggests for people to move inland, not stock up on supplies to anticipate the apocalypse. Oh, but I know, "who knows how much damage will occur or whether their homes will be remaining." 3 HOURS UNTIL DEVASTATION Why buy supplies if the tsunami would just take them away?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) Were either of them thought of as highly defensively as Morel is? Because defense is getting a lot more attention right now than it was a couple years ago. I'm not really up on their overall defensive abilities but, I know that Kouz made only 3 errors in almost 1200 innings last year at 3b and SD traded him instead of Headley. Headley was more disciplined at the plate than Kouz (not saying much) but he is out of practice at 3B - since he was mostly LF the last two years. I don't know if Morel would be much of an overall upgrade over Headley.

Can you imagine a city police force driving a fleet of Toyota Priuses? One bank robber in a Corvette would tear the place apart.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) The White Sox second reality feature will show White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf and MLB commissioner Bud Selig enjoying one of their many lunches together at their favorite Scottdale, Ariz., delicatessen. Here’s hoping the commissioner and Jerry don’t get themselves into a pickle, but we’re sure you’re going to relish this episode." Hope this series cuts the mustard while we're all trying to ketchup. Jeez. Who writes this s***, SHIPPS' comedy writer?

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) My whole premise has been the Pads want cheap MLB ready prospects with all or most of their Pre-Arb years in tact (Which is what Hudson, Flowers, and Morel offer). They have been looking at upgrades for 3rd base, catcher, and starting pitching. They are not in "Win Now" mode as are the WS. So this is why I keep coming back to the theory that with a whole lot of luck these 3 and maybe two other mid level prospects will be having very good years at the July deadline. Hopefully enough to entice Jed Hoyer. Headley and Kouzmanoff (who they send to Oak) are/were better than Morel potential-wise.

Looks like Harangody's injury finally forced Brey into using his bench. Gee, the bench guys can actually play. Imagine that. Two back-to-back top 25 wins against Pitt and G'Town, sans Harangody.
