  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) You can carry five lefties if you want, but, if only one has proven he can consistently get out major league talent, the other four are useless. I realize we are in a good spot if this is our chief-concern, but, I'm just not on-board for carrying the second lefty if he is simply a glorified pitching machine. It's early and there's still hope that one of these "pitchers" can catch fire and put it all together, but, I have confidence in Williams, Cooper, Guillen, etc. that they won't carry the second lefty just for the sake of having that second lefty. If all else fails, just enter the season with Cotts and take it from there...don't force this. I'm sure Ozzie and Coop are thinking the same way. They're not gonna have some unproven guy with an era over 6 on the team simply because he throws with his lefthand. It's been almost a week since the exhibition season started and atleast one guy has stepped up and made people take notice.
  2. Ryan looks like he might match or exceed that '04 performance.
  3. Lopez with another scoreless inning today. He's the favorite at this point. Tucker and Bentz also have solid outings.
  4. Big thanks to SSH, Jphat and everybody else who kept us updated today.
  5. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) I want to see Javier Lopez and Arnie Munoz duke it out for the second lefty spot. And I want to see Rusty Tucker pitching at Charlotte to start the season. I think if he gets his velocity back and works on his location, he could be Jenks Part 2 from the left side. That's what it's looking like so far. Lopez has clearly seperated himself from the pack. Surprised that Munoz didn't get some run today. I guess he'll go tomorrow. I agree with you on Tucker.
  6. Sweeney= Ozuna= Garland= Lopez= Tucker= Baj=
  7. So Lopez, Tucker, Bentz and Baj all had solid outings today.
  8. I don't care if it's spring. It's good to finally get a win. Looks like the pitching was very good.
  9. Did Baj strikeout the side?
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) And that's a WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!!! First of the spring. It appears my PBP will be good luck this year. March 6, 2006 > October 26, 2005
  11. Baj? I like this move. Give him a chance right away to bounce back from a poor performance.
  12. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to the minor leagues, so somebody fill me in: What do you guys think about this Valido kid? I know he's a heck of a defensive player that can fly. He's getting better offensively as well.
  13. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Lets get a win I haven't been so hungry for a win since October 26, 2005.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) Jams somebody. Looked pretty impressive. 3 outs. Onto the 8th. Threw a lot of breaking stuff. Very nice. I guess Munoz will pitch the 9th.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) I was wrong. It's Rusty Tucker. THey look like they have similar builds though. I forgot about him. I know Munoz is little as hell.
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) Arnie in I think? 39 He's smallish looking so I think its him. That's him. Isn't he #49?
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) Leadoff walks aren't going to win a situational lefty a job. I know
  18. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Arnie Munoz should be pitching soon, right? His only competition may be Javier Lopez. I know he's scheduled to pitch today. I assume he'll come out next inning.
  19. Sounds like other then the walk he was alright? Can't do much about those infield hits.
  20. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:59 PM) Chad Bentz, your plane is boarding... What he do now?
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) You're not goin to like this. Leadoff walk. Sox Killa Choo Freeman up God I hate walks.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) meh, hes terrible IMO. He has been so far. Let's see how he bounces back.
  23. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Bentz in. I was hoping they brought Lopez out for another inning. Let's see what Bentz does now.
  24. All of our top hitting prospects are having good springs so far. Nice to see.
