QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) I think Mike Huff has been wrong with every prediction he's made tonight. Let's hope he predicts a loss.

Chicago White Sox. Kansas City Royals. 7:10 PM CST
6 outs for 2 runs. *breaks out calculator* Based on their previous performance, it will take about 26.5 outs to produce 2 runs.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) Haha, awful. Not even coming close to hitting the ball hard. When you consider the terrible announcing tonight, this might be the most annoying game of the season. Could you imagine if Hawk was there tonight? He would have finally broken down and dropped the f-bomb.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Since when? I was saying as compared to when they lit up Chen. But you're right, I think this is the real 2010 White Sox right now.

I'm at a loss for words. Two more balks...from the same umpire crew (coincidence, I think not). No damn offense. A high pitch count. Being beaten by a soft tosser. Christ!

If anyone here still likes Teahen...
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) I say work with Viciedo all winter on his defense at third and he is the starting third baseman next year. Lillibridge proved hitting wise that you can reinvent yourself over the winter. Can't Viciedo do the same on the defensive end? Take him somewhere warm starting in midJanuary and work on his defense for a month til spring training starts. I would think the Tank can become an adequate third baseman. He already has to be as good as Teahen defensively. If Tank can't be adequate at third, then I guess we sink. But we already know Mark T can't be our regular third baseman if we hope to be a contender for the division title. I agree that working with Viciedo has to be a priority. The question is whether they want to make him the 3rd baseman of the future or start grooming him for 1st base. Regardless, his bat is going to be important to the Sox for years to come...hopefully. If Konerko doesn't sign, I would expect Tank to be groomed for 1st.

2011
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) We actually may need his lefthanded bat. If we start Manny, Paulie, CQ, Lexi, Beckham, Rios, that's six of nine everyday players being righty. Add Castro instead of AJ that's seven. Add Tank or Omar that's eight. That leaves Juan as the only lefty and he can't drive in a run to save his life. I don't see Manny playing for the Sox next year. And Omar is a switch hitter, but I doubt he starts as many times next year.
