  1. Really, though, I thought Sandy was retired. I was listening to the radio and heard Farmer say Alomar and I thought He was just rambling...you know, drifting back a few years.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) How about Mr. Nanny? Ugh.
  3. I was in grade/middle school when Hulkamania was at its peak. Classmates were always asking me if I could get his autograph for them.
  4. A win against the Royals isn't a win against the Tigers, Yankees, or Mud Hens, but it would be something...something for Mark to build of off.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Fathom was talking about Col. Hogan, Hogan's Heroes. Of course. I was going to throw in the totally obscure reference to the racquetball great Marty Hogan.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) You share the name of the greatest living American....please don't ever think you're a fool. Hulk Hogan? Can't be Paul Hogan. Ben, maybe?
  7. I may sound like a complete fool, but when did the Sox acquire (re-acquire) Sandy? Has he been in their minors? Or was he a signing?

You're right, it is a good division. But until last year, with the Sox winning it all, the AL Central got very little attention. Now it seems there's a lot of focus here.

...a product of the Sox's success last year and Detroit's rebirth? Two years ago, the Twins current record of 45-35 would be nearly the best, if not the best, in the division. I wonder if what the Sox did last year, combined with the Jim Leyland re-fueled Tigers team's playing has artificially created a seemingly great division. I know, I know, only three teams have winning records, but their all playing good baseball (the Twins as of late anyway). I do think that the Tigers will be there all year. They are not a flash in the pan. I do think, however, that the Sox can win the division. Regardless, it looks as if both the Tigers and Sox may be playing in October. I guess I'm just surprised to see two, and almost three, teams from the AL Central in the hunt. Any thoughts? Anybody agree that Detroit is the real thing? Is Jim Leyland a big part of that?
  10. Maybe Crede shouldn't cut his hair! 5-0!
  11. I presume that Paulie did not care for the high and tight pitch. I gather that Mays probably won't do that again...if he sees Konerko again, that is.
  12. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) You can order those from Grandstand...I was there yesterday...spent too much money, again...but I ordered a World Champions leather jacket...similar to the ones they were wearing this post-season...but its all black and has a big World Champion Sox patch on the back...$200...also have the all leather, crazy looking jacket...for $2000....I passed on that one. You can call them...and order it...and here is the website... Grandstand Thanks!
  13. I've been looking for the jackets that the Sox were wearing during the parade. I haven't been able to find any retailer that has them...at least not in stock. Anybody know of where they can be found...if at all? Thanks
  14. How about MuttonChops for Hermenson? Hawk would say, "Ol' MuttonChops pitching in relief of Garland."
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) Yes he will, and if KW is going to try like Hell to trade for Carl Everett back too.. I don't know how but Im sure some team will be getting more prospects for those 2. Uh...KW will trade within his own team to get Carl?
  16. ...to be released in late 2005. Starring Omar Epps as Timo Perez and William Shatner as Hawk Harrelson. "Come...on...Timo! Come on...Timo!"
  17. Well, I guess he could be in high school by now (Robbie's son, that is) or maybe Pony league. If Iguchi goes down it might be a viable option.
  18. I didn't know Robbie Alomar had a son who played.
  19. QUOTE(raff @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) lets s*** on a stick and give that to them for rollins. lmfao Actually, a s*** covered stick would be what we could get for Borchard...I mean, he did hit that 500+ foot homerun.
  20. So if the Sox do sign El Duque and then sign, say, Alex Cora, would this be a successful offseason by KW? I think it would at least be better than his past few.
  21. Finally mentioned the El Duque situation on a SportsCenter update.
  22. That would be a very nice rotation, but it really depends on what else the Sox would have to give up for Vasquez. I'd hate to see Konerko, Marte, and Garland go.
  23. Does Bruce really think that the Sox are still in the running for Johnson? I really think the Sox would be better off just signing El Duque then signing a good middle infielder. Too much would have to be given up for Johnson or Vazquez.
  24. I was just wondering about why they haven't mentioned El Duque.
  25. This would be a good signing for the Sox. True, it's not a #1 or #2 starter, but it's better than minor leaguer of the week getting slaughtered. On paper, the Sox will have a pretty good rotation. Let's just hope everyone stays healthy.
