  1. Thats the best news I've heard all day!! Everything that man gets, he deserves and I'm glad this is happening to him. I hope nothing but bad things happen to him for the rest of his life. What a class act!
  2. I like it in a way, but think we're giving up too much for Hudson and byrnes with the 3 prospects. Maybe someone should give us a prospect or 2 back and then i would do it.
  3. HOW CAN CONINE NOT HELP US!!! He would be great insurance if Gload falters and can put up about a .270- .280- .290 average. He can also play the outfield and provide good leadership in the clubhouse.
  4. I think the trade is fair, we would give up a guy that they need for a guy that we need. Conine is included because they don't need him anymore and he would make the money right. Thats the only reason to include him.
  5. Tell me whats so bad about getting the great leaddof man we've wanted for so long for a guy that we can replace.
  6. It's obvious that we would all choose Juan Pierre over Luis Castillo, but thats not going to happen. I could see the Marlins giving him up for a power bat to compensate Cabrera and Lowell. Castillo is not as good as Pierre(just barely), older, and making more money, he could be expendable. he was signed last offseason to an extension, but that doesn't mean anything (i.e. Carlos Lee) The White Sox could be a good fit for Castillo, he's a gold glover and could compensate Uribe at SS. Castillo will be making over $4,000,000 for next season and is in the 2nd year of his 4 year deal. The White Sox could be willing to move Carlos Lee or Paul Konerko; both are good fits for that team. The Marlins won't be willing to take on anymore salary because they never do, but it could be done so that the money is a wash. The Marlins will probably hold onto Encarnacion and have an outfield of Encarnacion, Pierre, and cabrera. This means that Konerko would be more likely. By trading Hee Seop Choi, thay have a spot open at 1st for a power hitter. The deal could be done like this: White Sox trade- Paul Konerko, Willie Harris, and Arnie Munoz Marlins Trade- Luis Castillo, Jeff Conine The White Sox get their great leadoff man and the Marlins get their great power hitter, it's a good fit. The marlins can dump the 3 million they owe to Conine and we could have a quality 1B to go along with Gload. It's about 7-8 Million for Castillo and Conine for next season and about 8-9 million for Konerko, harris, and Munoz. It's a virtual wash and I think the Sox should pursue it.
  7. The dummest statement ever made
  8. If there is a god then this deal gets done. Please KW, Make it happen!!! Hudson is the best pitcher on that staff and the best fit for us. We would also be saving 2 million dollars this season and we could start talking with him about a contract extension. Make it happen, this would be awesome
  9. I don't understand it, if we're willing to give up a Lee/Konerko, and Garland for a domiant pitcher, why would we do it for a 40 yr. old. I'm sure teams would be willing to give up pitching for guys like Garland and Lee. How about this: Lee, Garland- Hudson How about this: Lee, Garland- Pineiro, Jacobson There are other possibilities other than RJ
  10. THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT, BUT WHAT I PREDICT! 1. Mark Buehrle 2. Freddy Garcia 3. Brad Radke/ Eric Milton 4. Jose Contreras 5. Jon Garland Long- Felix Diaz Middle- Neal Cotts Middle- Jon Adkins Middle- Cliff Politte Set Up- Shingo Takatsu SetUp- Damaso Marte Closer- Troy Percival
  11. Hey, we're not counting on our catcher to be a big offensive threat with ben Davis and Jamie Burke. We're not getting Varitek and we're not getting Kendall, so who do you want? At least Blanco is one of the best defensive catchers in baseball. His CERA was very good and he has a laser for an arm(better then Olivo's) which completely shuts down the running game. You might only want to sign him to a 1 year deal, but I have him down at about 900,000 a year, which isn't bad for a guy with his defensive value. On Dellucci, It doen't matter to me whether or not he gets a 1, 2, or 3 year deal from this team. he's a good ballplayer who could have some significant value off of our bench. He's great defensively, can run the bases, and gives 100%. If Lee gets traded, then who's in your outfiled? Rowand, Everett, ? Your missing a spot now so he could be important. Next year, your going to see a team built around defense and speed, no one is looking for more power hitters, then your putting yourself in the same situation as last season, and the year before that. You live by the homer, and die by the homer.
  12. I'm not suggesting these players, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were signed to this team. You have to read my other posts on this relievers topic. There are a lot of risky things when it comes to the SP in the FA market. Would you give a long term deal to an enigma like Odalis Perez? Would you give a long-term deal to a guy who has just recently found success in Carl Pavano? Would you give a long-term contract to a guy who is in the twilight of his career in Pedro Martinez? Would you give a long-term contract to guy who never gets a ground-ball in Eric Milton? Would you give a long-term contract to a shaky Russ Ortiz to pitch at the Cell? Tjere are a lot of unsure things in the FA market, you could go on with jaret Wrigh, Derek Lowe; the lis goes on and on, but the most sure thing, in my opinion is Radke. He is 32, which is kind of old, but his #'s are very consistent. if you going to give a long-term deal to someone, "Mr. Reliabe" is the guy.
  13. Hey, I don't want him either but his salary will only go down a little from last season.
  14. White Sox Sign Omar Visquel to a 2 year, 8,000,000 contract. White Sox sign Troy Percival to a 3 year, 16,000,000- 18,000,000 contract White Sox sign Brad Radke to a 4 year, 28,000,000- 30,000,000 contract White Sox sign Henry Blanco to a 2 year, 1,800,000 contract White Sox sign David Dellucci to 3 year, 3,000,000 contract I'm not going to try and predict trades because that's impossible to do. I would sign Visquel as a bridge-gap until we could find a young, good SS. I really don't want Percival, but it seems like he would be the best fit for the White Sox. I want Hoffman or a closer by trade. Brad Radke, I think would be the best addition in the offseason for us. he's so reliable and we don't need him to be an ace, just a #3 starter. I would definitely like to add Henry Blanco as a 3rd Catcher (You know kow Ozzie likes 3) Blanco would give us a great arm and a fine defensive catcher. I hate Ben Davis and see nothing in him that would warrant a starting job. I could see Blanco catching 80 games or more for us. David Dellucci is a grinder. He plays some nice defense and is a smart baserunner. He wouldn't start but could come in if Everett or Gload fails out there.
  15. I just don't understand how we would want to keep a .270 hitter who can hit 30-40 HR's rathe rather then a .290-.300 hitter who can hit 30-40 HR's. It doesn't make sense.
  16. I didn't see it on here. Anyway, being from the metropolitan area, it came out as soon as Minaya was hired. I should have posted it earlier. I don't think Cora really has a chance though. His name hasn't been mentioned in the hiring process anymore since the beginning.
  17. yeah, I forgot about Helton. He's good too. Right now though, this team needs Pierre more then they do Helton. I also think that Jeff Francis is gonna be a stud pitcher. Give him one or two more years and he could win 20 games, even in Colorado.
  18. Here are some links to the articles for anyone who wants them: Newsday Article White Sox Official Website Article
  19. I didn't see it on here, maybe it was but: I saw in numerous papers and web-sites that Omar Minaya is considering Joey Cora to be his manager. He seems like an outside-canditate but he is good friends with Minaya and could bring them a different look. What do you guys think?
  20. The onlt guy I've ever wanted from Colorado was Juan Pierre
  21. Its going to be a fun winter!!! P.S. Don't go after a 40 year old picher
  22. Hey you know I love Milton, and I would pich Milton over the both of them in a big game; Milton has good playoff numbers. Since we are on the topic, If the White Sox don't want Odalis Perez, they could use another lefty in the rotation. Maybe they do have some interest in a cheaper Milton. I wouldn't mind it at all. Maybe then garland goes. You'd have a rotation of Buehrle, Garcia, Radke, Milton, Contreras. Thats not bad at all. I have also heard that Yankees are interested in having Milton come in as a lefty in their rotation from a couple of radio stations, i.e. "Mike and the Maddog". Anyway, that would be a good move by them to bring him back.
  23. When you look at the state of the White Sox pitching, you wouldn't think that we would want an older pitcher, it would be my preference to get someone in their mid-20's, but when you look at the young SP avalible, it scares me a little. I would not want Odalis Perez on my team because you never know how he's going to pich. Plus, he has the reputation of being a club-house cancer. I think even though Radke is in his older years, he could still help us get to the playoffs in more of a way then Odalis Perez can. As Perez has pitched more years, his groundball to flyball ratio has gone more and more into the direction of the flyball. That doesn't mean he his a fly-ball pitcher, it just means he has become less of a groundball pitcher (excluding 2003). Brad Radke is even less of a groundball picher and I think both are pretty much equal in WHIP. If you ask me though, who i trust in a big game, Radke or Perez, I'm gonna choose Radke. I think we would all choose Radke by default after we saw Perez in the playoffs. Radke wasn't much better, but Perez was absolutely dreadful. I would choose the classy veteran over the young'n. I know a lot of you would choose Perez, but in my opinion Radke is a safer option and the Kenny Williams can't afford to make any risky moves with his job security.
  24. Exactly, and the white sox don't like to spend money, Detroit and Baltimore gave out money last offseason and were active in the FA market. They had some nice results during the season too. So again I ask you, why in the hell would these types of players want to come to the white sox? No money, no prestige, no fame.
  25. exactly, we're talking about the weakest hitte ron the team.
