  1. the one thing i'll give him: "You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball. South Side." — Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.)
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) So would McCain... so would I... so would you. Hell if it was me I would change my campaign slogan to "I'm rich, b****!" ... that's my point tho. don't brand yourself as a 'new kind of politics' if you're NOT
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 09:28 AM) I don't really buy Obama's song and dance, but Edwards became a completely different person from 2004 to 2007. That raises big red flags for me. That is always less believable than a guy who just seems too dreamy to be true. it may be harder for me to see because i was so close to it all, but maybe that's true. i do know that in 07 he became more of a 'fighter' than he was in 2004. but ALSO, in 04 he was kept down by Kerry - kerry didn't want him to steal the spotlight. afterall, charisma wise... kerry or edwards? not that difficult. And also... people really DO legitimately change, or at least change tactics. and i think his wife's cancer had something to do with that.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 09:25 AM) Obama flipped on immunity for telecoms, no doubt. But the public financing bit was more on McCain than Obama, IMO. obama said he'd take public financing, then since he raised more money than god could have, he changed his mind. classy.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 07:10 AM) I found OJ Simpson more believable than John Edwards... i dont really feel like having THIS argument... again. and obviously it's even harder for me to defend him now. BUT, i'll still say that i trust him more than Obama on his politics. How many times have we already seen Obama flip flop? Public financing? That alone was enough to sicken me of Obama. He's on that goddamn high horse about a NEW kind of politics but when it actually comes to it and he sees an old school opportunity to get an edge, his old promise flies out the window. New politics my ass. He's just as sleazy as anyone. At least Edwards stuck to the poverty thing -- something that, as we saw again, doesn't win anyone votes.
  6. i dont like obama. i just still don't buy his bulls*** and i hate listening to great guys like kennedy and warner drool over him. (yes i know it's the convention). i guess this is gonna be my first 'hold my nose' vote.

  9. damn i was pissed after watching that. how must it feel to lose to a 12 year old due to faulty judging and a bad system when you CLEARLY did better... unbelievable.
  10. QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 04:00 PM) me too man, me too.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) I'm sad. No one got my Austin Powers reference. DAMNIT! i totally did but i didn't respond cuz i figured in 9 pages SOMEONE must have. at least you can take solace in the fact that ONE person did. and i applaud your reference.
  12. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) Why? well even tho i still love the guy (it's like when someone in your family does something bad... and ya still technically love 'em) i feel like i should probably retire the sig.
  13. ps i really need to change my sig...
  14. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) That could be another reason the bored has "slown" down, if it even has. Possibly not as many people care about post counts as they did a few years ago. There were some people in the past that posted just to post and brought nothing to the topic, just an "I agree" or something to add another post. i agree - i WILL say that i feel the level activity has gone up in the SLM/Buster more so than in the Pale Hose forums, in fact, i think there may even be more non-sox related conversation on here than sox related. but i also agree with whoever said it that the quality of the sox-related stuff is great. I mean, statman is awesome. and there's almost always something new from him every day.
  15. English, Irish, German, Polish though i'm about to play an Arab kid in a show. and i can also look hispanic. and i can also look italian. and almost jewish.

  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) But quite the choke artist. i still think she rocks.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) http://l.yimg.com/a/p/sp/oly/2008/headshots/4e/221731.jpg Much better.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:20 AM) I never said she was ugly with the hair down. Personally, I just feel she looks a lot better with the hair up. Good both ways, but hair up suits her better. Just my opinion. she's my latest crush. still waiting on that friend request... and my take on the age thing is younger>older because of this: when you're older you have a much better idea of the scope at it all. you have much more to lose cuz it's your last shot. when you're younger, though you know it's important, you just... dont attach AS MUCH significance to it and thus you're less nervous and perform better. secondly, the chinese girls were half as tall (hyperbole) as the americans, thus they almost never got far enough to even fall out of bounds when they messed up - their little bodies just didn't travel as far lastly, they're less prone to injury because their bodies can twist and turn and flex more easily than the older girls and so they didn't have to go through what team USA did with all their injuries. that is why young is better and why team USA was ripped off.
  20. if that was moderator related... i'm not sure i'm a fan. but in any case, there's a game going on.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) =[ Sad but true. you're pathetic.
  22. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) this game is over split is decent i guess, adios 1st place. gimme a break
  23. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) not to be mean but everyone knows not to talk about it when its happening... its okay we all forgive you griffey. yeah maybe... as long as we win.
