  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 11:03 PM) Time's Mark Halperin gives Obama an A- and the other two a B+ for the debate. though notice he says that on a level playing field Edwards would have won by a large margin he rocked both Clinton and Obama tonight and stood out above the fray.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) IM NOT DOEN WITH YOU bud light in the fridge dfuels our fire. i can't wait till i'm in your state tonight... should be fun.
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) 54% reporting from SC... McCain: 34% Huckabee: 29% Thompson: 16% Romney: 15% Paul: 4% Giuliani: 2% good to see. huckabee scares me so much.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) If the caucuses were binding (they're not), it would happen because its done like the electoral college; a set of 3 delegates covering different areas of the state that aren't equal in population. So while Hillary may win specific areas, Obama may win more delegates (in this version) because he kept it close enough in the highly populated areas and won the rural areas. The other little issue may be that since the Dems are reporting "Caucus delegates" and not actual voters, the actual vote total could be closer than the 51/45 that we're seeing, which may play into it as well. But on top of that, the votes for these delegates are currently non-binding until after a state party convention later this year. So this is basically a dressed up straw poll out there, and once Hillary wins Super Tuesday, a lot of these delegates will simply be allowed to switch to her at the conventions. In other words...God I hate caucuses. exactly. god this political system is so messed up.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) CNN now shows Obama with 13 delegates, and Clinton with 12. anyone have any idea how that happens?
  7. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 06:13 PM) CNN says that Obama is currently set to receive 13 delegates from NV, Clinton 12. seems like good news for Obama how does that make sense?
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) If Bloomberg entered, he'd instantly be my favorite candidate in a race of Hillary versus anyone. There's a solid shot right now also that I'll be turning in a ballot in November voting for Colbert. I'll take the corporatist independent over the corporatist republican and establishment democrat right now pretty easily. Again, calling myself undecided doesn't mean I can't flip-flop depending on how the campaign goes. aight that's fair.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) No. I think that neither of them gets points on that matter. if you don't want A or B... then either vote C or don't at all. How does it make any sense to vote for one bad candidate over another?
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) On this, I think I totally disagree. The Clintons certainly didn't show me in the 90's that the first thing on their plate was cutting executive power at all. Give you an example...the court challenges to whether or not Mr. Clinton had to testify under oath and exertion of Executive priveledge there. Some level of wiretapping that was at the time pushing the limits of FISA. Using the DOJ to slow down the admittedly incredibly hostile Congress's investigative powers. I think they're going to more than enjoy having all of Mr. Bush's newly accumulated powers that the Congress surrendered handed to them. but you think Romney would be BETTER!?
  11. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) I am voting for Iraq, the economy, and a reforming of Washington. I dont buy that Hillary will change washington, but I like her views on the economy and Iraq. Once we are "over" the whole Iraq thing, we can move on to more pressing issues. I think this recession we are in or starting into was largely ignored because so many people are focused on Iraq. OH! And Clinton will reinstate that whole pesky Constitution thing the Bushes have been pissing all over. exactly.
  12. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Just wait until Jeb Bush runs in 2012 or 2016 no joke. it's scary. Balta i'm with you on the political dynasty thing - i hate it as well, but at this point i'm worried about now. Forget the past, right NOW a Clinton presidency would be better than a Romney presidency. If Romney, or any GOP wins, i think the future of the Democratic party is at risk. As it stands the GOP has had a stranglehold over this country for much of the last 50 years. The 2 party system's bad enough, but do we really want a 1 party system?
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 04:04 PM) I would have happily supported Edwards also, but I'll be putting Obama on my primary ballot. I just have absolutely no stomach right now to vote for Hillary Clinton. ok, and disliking her is fine, but if you care at all about Obama or Edwards policies you would never vote for Romney over ANY democrat. This is what i mean when i talk about people not voting in their own interest - it's all about feel, gut reaction, emotion, likability, etc. Interesting...
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) Let me put that race in some perspective. If the election were held tomorrow and that was the matchup, there's a strong chance I'd be filling in the bubble for Romney. correct me if i'm wrong but you're an Obama supporter correct?
  15. guys, it's the Clintons, they're not going to lose. they don't like doing it so they'll do what it takes - end of story.
  16. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) Romney vs Clinton? yea, that would suck. lol i agree. I'd vote Clinton in that situation but... man. Obama v. McCain - I'd vote McCain Obama v. Romney - I'd shoot myself Clinton v. McCain - ... unsure Clinton v. Romney - I'd vote Clinton
  17. Obama needed Edwards to do better - because if Edwards had kingmaking power he'd pick Obama, but with Edwards out of the picture Clinton wins this thing.
  18. wow i never expected numbers like this. i mean i didnt expect an edwards win but 5%? that is messed the f*** up. oh well. GO CLINTON!
  19. yeah i hate this. i'm always gonna call it the jake. this made me think about US Cellular and it's funny how used to it we are now that it's no big deal - but really... it's all just sad.
  20. QUOTE(flavum @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) I think we've seen the last of Masset, Sisco, and Aardsma, regardless of their option situations. If they end up signing Dotel, I'd go with a 7-man pen: Wassermann Logan MacDougal Dotel Thornton Linebrink Jenks i dunno, you may be right about aardsma and sisco, but i think they're still hoping for something out of Masset.
  21. QUOTE(Gbubbs @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 01:09 AM) Capuano? Cap would get blown up in the cell - plus i doubt they'd make the trade anyway.

  23. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 09:37 AM) Could they have made a mistake? rojo instead of blanco? how funny would that be...

  25. I'm finally pretty convinced that Edwards is done, but in his last act of desperation he'd hoping to rip apart the media's credibility: http://www.johnedwards.com/ http://www.johnedwards.com/whereisjohn/ hmm, and there WAS an article about it on CNN.com yesterday that i can no longer find. lol
