QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Well you have to play one side of the bracket in the morning and one at night. In a year like this sure the 4/5 is the best...might not always be the prime time match you'd want, plus the 1/8 is probably a blowout most of the time. You're also playing an opponent this morning that played at 11am yesterday. Illinois for sure would have loved to play at 8pm tonight. Right which is why it makes sense to inverse the order, so that Illinois game was last night. And thus the night games today are the potential 4/5 (usually best game) and then 1/8 (has the top seed)

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:22 PM) Wrong. If you play the early night game, it's over at 7:30. That's 6.5 hours extra rest in a tournament where you are trying to win 3 games in 3 days. Yes it's 2 hours compared to your opponent. Generally tournaments give #1 seeds the most rest as it is an advantage. Um I meant Indiana gets 2 more hours of rest than Wisconsin/Michigan. I personally hate the morning games in tournaments. I always preferred late games, even if that meant that I got less rest the next day. Rest doesnt matter if you get upset at 11 am.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:18 PM) Well it isn't like we have a post threat (in fact throwing the ball inside to our big men is a terrible idea and I would flat out ignore them if I was a guard) and only Abrams and Paul can break someone down off the dribble on even a semi-consistent basis and neither is great at it. Not a ton of offensive options on this team other than to take and hope to make a lot of threes. I just hope that in the tourney against teams that don't have Illinois as well scouted they can have a couple of hot shooting games and maybe make the second weekend. It was more that they seemed to be forcing 3s (especially long ones) when they could have tried to move the ball a little more to get more open shots. Basically whenever it hit 10 points, that possession they shot a quick 3 in an attempt to get the game close.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:14 PM) In the same way that the 1/8 would usually be the worst game of the day... Also, 1 seed gets the most rest by having their side play in the morning each time. If I was the 1 seed id rather play the early night game and then get the late afternoon game on Saturday. Indiana gets 2 hours extra rest, not exactly life changing.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) The bracket is pre-determined, all based on seeding. Exactly Wont most years the 4-5 game be the best game of the day?
-
Wisconsin. Michigan has more talent. Just impossible to believe that Crean after like 10 tries cant figure out a coaching plan to beat Wisconsin. Indiana match ups should just kill Wisconsin.
-
Kind of silly that they scheduled the Wisconsin- Michigan game during the day. Should have been prime time as the other games are much less interesting.
-
Illinois was imitating Wisconsin when they get down in games. Just jack up 3s because that always is a good idea.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) Ah, cut the bulls***. I've clearly said IU's gotten calls, I just was pointing out it's been both ways. The game has been called terribly, so I think that means Illinois/Indiana fans can legitimately gripe. That isnt either teams fans wearing homer glasses, its just the truth.
-
The problem is how inconsistent the game is being called. 1 possession a slight touch is a foul, another possession it seems nothing will be called. Breaks the flow and just makes for a bad game.
-
Now the refs are just making terrible calls to make up other terrible calls
-
lol Only Indiana fans could say to take off the glasses. Zeller literally was walking around in the paint and no travel call.
-
Under 8minute make up call! If that was a foul on hulls, indiana should have 100 fouls already lol
-
lol This is brutal
-
lol This game is going to get out of hand if the refs let Indiana bump Illinois down the court Purdue style.

Quin, Awesome, always glad to have more people writing. I just want to make sure people are enjoying themselves, its supposed to be fun.

Its all Steve, hes got some talent.

Steve's been working hard on a new layout for Flapship.com so if anyone wants to take a look Id love to hear feedback. Zoom just finished a pretty awesome fantasy baseball article. http://flapship.com/

I think Indiana will win, but I also think that their most likely loss is going to be the first game, early morning after a long break, perfect moment for a trap game.

Yeah depends on the slant. Some are saying he was doing things behind the scenes, others seem to think he was complicit.

The headline of this thread isnt 100% accurate. There have been other "non-european" popes, they were just born in the Roman Empire. There have been popes born in Jerusalem, Syria and Africa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_popes

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) He's 76 years old. so...... I think we can get ready to go through this again in 3-7 years. Seems like they are moving towards term limits...
-
I believe this is going to be a lot of firsts. Obviously first new world pope, but it is also basically the first pope outside of Europe that was not born under Roman Empire. It makes sense, South America is one of the last stands for Catholicism.

I like the Americans much more. But when I watch Horror tv/films, I just dont get into the "realism" part anymore. So The Following isnt bothering me as much, because its just a fantasy land where a cult could get powerful. And while thats unrealistic, its still fun.
