This is the scoop Ive been waiting for: "Jake Long extremely interested in signing with Bears, wondering when they will offer, willing to give discount" Technically true!
-
Ive never seen Dexter, so I cant comment. Means, They try and write that away by saying that he got the military specialist who hacked the prison server. That being said, it didnt make much sense what they did to the guy at the end of the episode.

I keep thinking that this is just 1 season with this killer and then next season would have to be someone else. There is just no way that you are going to start attacking FBI agents and get away with it.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 12:11 PM) Salary cap/ no salary cap....totally different game. All teams already offer the money quick. Once its gone, its gone. Boras is a master negotiator who thrives when his players become free agents. In the NFL, his tactics wouldn't work, and obviously he would change, but he really couldn't be unique. MLB would love to have the NFL-style cap and free agency and non guaranteed contracts. It takes most of guys like Boras' leverage away. No it really is the same game. Its understanding the market, understanding demand, understanding players ability, etc. The part that is interesting is you think that time would hurt Boras, a time crunch would help Boras. You get the best deals when people are in a rush and panic. That is why in baseball you usually see a guy sign really quick or wait, because once the initial free for all hits, then people reassess. In football there is no time, so Boras would be able to use his tricks "Oh 49ers are offering X, if you dont offer Y we are signing now" and get the same deals. You have to remember its about the players. If Boras lands A-Rod type NFL clients, he can do what he wants. Its the best player who sets the market. I bolded a part because that has nothing to do with agents, it has everything to do with rules being in place to prevent players from getting the maximum possible salary. Even further in the NBA where you have a MAX salary, you just cant negotiate for more money, regardless of how good the agent is.

Any tv show like that is going to require quite a bit of suspended belief. High profile mass murders who commit high profile crimes, generally dont escape long. That being said, I actually enjoy it. But no part of me believes that this could really happen.

Im thinking Scola. I know a lot of people think the church is going to go outside of Italy, but with 2 non-Italians in a row, I think they go Italian this round and then the next pope will be (I believe) the first Pope not from Europe.
-
Boras would be fine. Hed get the best deals first. He just uses the baseball system to his advantage. If if he was NFL, hed use their system to panic teams into offering money quick. Its the same game.

Sam Dekker should have been 6th man over Sheehey. They played 12 minutes difference, Dekker had more points, assists and blocks, also had less turnovers. Sheehey had more rebounds. Kind of funny Dekker gets honorable mention in media.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) A side note, Cody's brother Luke and the family have started a non-profit business running basketball camps that teach life skills and leadership in addition to basketball. Here is a blip from the website. MORE THAN A SPORTS CAMP At DistinXion, we know that youth are our future, but we also know that it takes the entire community to lead, teach, and model for them the life skills that will help them make our future world a better place. Amidst a society that is lacking character, honesty, and integrity we believe your children are the beginning of a new generation that will grow into DISTINCT athletes with DISTINCT character. And we want the honor of teaching them! Join our community, join our family, and LET’S BE DISTINCT! They could be cashing in on their name right now and instead are starting a non-profit. DistinXion.org Lets hope they are doing it for the right reasons. Many people dont realize that NFP's can pay salaries, so for all we know the NFP is merely so that they can get donations and give tax write offs, while at the same time making large money. Its easier to get money from a corp when you can give a tax write off, than when you cant. So its likely they are cashing in on their name, the hope is that they are really doing it for the kids and not using the NFP as a tax shelter for their rich friends. This is a common problem with NFPs and one of the reasons Im kind of a dick to clients who call in about them. I only want to help them if they are truly doing it for charity. If they ask about salary and how they can pay themselves I find a reason to say they cant. The Zeller family seems like good people though, so I think they are doing it for the right reasons. -
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) China doesn't want US troops on it's border, which is what would happen with a free unified Korea. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) They don't need to help NK, but they also won't walk away from them if SK or the US attacks. They last thing they want is another American puppet on their doorstep. That's whey they have propped up NK as long as they have. The US is already on China's doorstep, NK really isnt really a military necessity. If the US was to fight China, it would most likely use Taiwan and other islands for base of operation. The US navy/airforce is far superior to China. Putting infantry in SK/NK would just allow the Chinese to try and exploit their only advantage, sheer man power. The main reason to keep NK from a Chinese perspective that NK gives China leverage against the rest of the world. So China actually wants NK to be the bad guy every once in a while, so that China can come and save the day and be relevant. That way China keeps leverage in case the rest of the world wants to actually start sanctioning China. I cant see China actually sacrificing real troops for NK though. The entire relationship is built on NK doing what China wants, the second NK goes off the reservation their days are over.

Not liking the deal for the Vikings. Even with Harvin's injury problems, he still is explosive and a difference maker.

Jenks, Crean isnt a great X/O coach. The scary part is that if Indiana ever got rid of Crean they could possibly get a guy who would be devastating (Brad Stevens). Im just hoping they hold onto Crean long enough that Stevens already has a big time job. -

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) The bolded may be true for some unfortunate Indiana fans, but you're sorely mistaken if you think it's a significant portion of the fanbase's intelligent members. I can only speak about the Indiana fans I know. I generally dont even speak about the school anymore because its just not worth dealing with the fans. You are reasonable, which is why I edited my post. -

(This was in response to Balta and others, Farmteam's post wasnt up, I alluded to the alleged comment made by Meyer) Really? In what world is it Crean's place to say anything? Unless Meyer made a specific remark to Crean (which is possible), Crean should have just kept his mouth shut. Indiana won the game, you dont need to go and find a guy to try and publicly embarrass him. Last I checked, Crean wasnt even at Indiana when that happened, he should be thanking Sampson because if it wasnt for that cluster, Crean wouldnt coaching Indiana. The people who should be screamed at, the people who should suffer, are all the Indiana fans who loved Sampson, who were quite happy with everything Sampson was doing, until they got caught. Those very same people are defending Tom Crean, no matter what. Irony. -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) then you have to deal with one of their allies: China. Not sure how much love China needs to give NK these days. Its not post WWII where you had Russia/China fighting over communist spheres of influence. NK needs China more than China needs NK. That being said, nothing is going to happen. People in power like to stay in power, NK only has threats. As soon as they act on a threat they are gone.

Ridiculous ending congrats Indiana. -
Im not sure if If ever been to BOA. But I like the small middle level (maybe called dress level) Closer seats arent always necessarily better. I sat like 3rd row for Wicked and you could hear individuals singing and often see the spit coming out of their mouths.

Woooo down 20 and now refs will start to give Wisconsin a call when they drive. Whatever no one to blame but yourself when you lose to Purdue at home. Just a complete joke. -

Even Bo Ryan giving up on the s***ty effort of Wisconsin. Evan Anderson shouldnt play fora terrible team, but when you watch this nonsense I guess what does it matter. Theyve made 1 3 in 25 attempts over a 2 game period. Yet they keep jacking them up. -

Wisconsin had been doing well until they decided to basically destroy their season losing to Purdue. The problem with his index is like he says its about what teams are playing good that day. And any system built on what have you done for me lately is bound to have inconsistency. -
Ive dealt with the letter a lot. Never had an actual company go beyond requesting the subpoena from the ip provider, but as y2hh said its basically playing russian roulette. You may never get caught, you may get caught on the first time. Your risk. I dont do it just not worth the risk/hassle/time

It was senior day and it seemed like seniors were pressing. Bruiser started 0-4, he missed a layup. Just a bad game.
