  1. Im pretty sure Verlander is ridiculously tough on lefties.
  2. I seriously vetted this rumor using a variety of sources from the internets. (im really kidding but I never get to make up ridiculous trades)
  3. Im not sure what a pitcher has to do with Ozzie's tendency to use right v left (or vice versa) in hitting situations, regardless of what the stats may suggest.
  4. You dont tell Ozzie stats about lefty/righty
  5. Detroit is not that great of a team, Sox just have killed themselves this year.
  6. Here is a conspiracy theory (note I dont believe it at all) Sox are really trading MB to Cardinals, they moved back Humber's start so MB could pitch tonight (in front of home crowd) and then could be traded. WOOOooOOO
  7. Like Verlander is a tough righty and they want to keep Morel's attitude up? Its 50/50 Morel plays against Verlander, not sure that I agree with sitting him, but its not out of the realm of possibilities.
  8. i gave a recap of the play, but im sure theyll show a replay as it was odd.
  9. Crain threw a pitch in the dirt, hits square off AJ's right leg blocker and Crain throws the guy out at 2nd.
  10. I dont think they were calling the article exploitative, I believe they were referring to the act. The article is a waste of time, what else is new in the world, political parties are trying to use tragic events to their advantage. You could write an article about the use of "revolutionary" "freedom fighter" "terrorist" "rebels" and how they in theory can be used interchangeably. But that is media, the irony is that all sides do it, they just use different words, different connotations, but the outcome is the same, framing stories, framing tragedy in a way that helps your cause. Its a terrible tragedy, it doesnt matter what you call it.
  11. If the Sox were leading the division, sure shut him down a week. But if they need Humber for 1-2 innings against the Tigers and thats the difference between winning or losing the game, Im not sure how you can say we shouldnt let him pitch those innings.
  12. And Peavy is coming off a one of a kind injury so you have no idea what its related too. It just seems that for no reason people always expect the worst, as in this case that some how Humber has been demoted for no real reason. But hey I shouldnt expect less.
  13. Peavy worked out of the bullpen and still made his next start. Im pretty sure they just want to cut down innings, so if Humber pitches 1-2 out of the pen this week instead of 10-12 thats a significant reduction of stress.
  14. I think the more realistic answer is that Humber may be tiring and the Sox want to give him a 1 week break. Unlike other teams the Sox have the luxury of giving a guy a week break.
  15. The deal could make the Sox better this year. Right now Rios/Dunn have been bad. If you bring in Rasmus he can play CF (Rios gets more days off) and some days you can have Rios in RF with CQ DH (Dunn gets more days off). You also can try and play match ups more etc. Jackson has definitely been solid, but the Sox need to score more runs consistently if they want to win.
  16. Come on Rios, youve earned a good result here, at least a sac fly.
  17. lol Players have bad years, no way are you spending time teaching him to bunt.
  18. Ump called 2 bad pitches strikes right before that, Ramirez was swinging no matter what.
  19. I dont really need it honestly. Outside of a few magazines, I barely get personal mail.
