So many people love to surrender.

I agree, I think that you have a guy warming up to start the inning because the entire pen is rested. Im just saying that Ozzie is not about shortening the game with bullpen. I disagree with him, but unfortunately hes the manager for the conceivable future.

But thats because Ozzie doesnt manage that way, he will always take out a pitcher 1 pitch to late. He barely ever takes a guy out 1 pitch to early.

And conversely if the Sox beat Cleveland this weekend they are really in the race. Offense is down, pitching is king and Im not sure there is a staff in the AL central that is better than the Sox.

Good parks in Chicago for picnics/pick up football
Call the Chicago Park District to see if they even do something like that. I know that any pick up game, etc Ive ever been at has been first come first serve.

- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; Youre right at least according to MLB rules, but I didnt think you could create a save situation to get a save (ie you come in with 2 runs 1 out left, you giving up the hit creates the save) but that doesnt seem to be in the rules.

So what, 1 batter for Sergio isnt really work anyways. If you start with Thornton and he gets the first 2, you finish with him. If you want to get people work, you give Crain 1-2 in the 8th and Thornton 1-2 in the 8th and then you give Santos the close.

2 run game only 1 out to get. You have to face as many outs as runs I believe.

After this many years youre really going to expect that Ozzie does something logical with the bullpen?

The Twins arent going to beat most teams with smoke and mirrors, just the Sox.

I agree that Pierre has been doing much better, I just didnt want to get in an argument about what "very good" etc is.

Wait what? If you could get Mauer for Dunn id physically train to get strong enough to carry Dunn to Minnesota.

Not only in a save situation, a save situation in KC where he basically had his confidence destroyed. THIS IS HOW YOU MAN UP, is what Ozzie is saying.

Baines was probably looking at the field because Alexei is rounding first almost immediately. He doesnt even hesitate, so unless Baines tackles him, not much he can do.

Pittsburgh scouting Sox
Unless Pirates want a guy like Teahen not really sure how they and the Sox could mix, outside the Sox throwing a ton of cash to get rid of a guy like Dunn. Or some how the Pirates Gm trades McCutchen for 2 of our old players in a classic 2 is better than 1 move, the Pirates did trade Aramis for trash.

No Juan actually has been not so bad recently. Dunn is the guy who Vicedo needs to replace.

The Democrat Thread
Its obviously hard to tell how much he will follow through, but I think the good news is that it appears he is trying to make some changes, instead of leasing things to try and pay for all of the nonsense.

The Democrat Thread
So on to some local topics, what do people think about Rahm so far? I actually like that he is trying to reduce costs (credit cards, recycling program), makes me believe that he can hopefully figure out this mess.

And the bunt didnt force Valverde to throw strikes, just doesnt make sense.

Valverde seems to have not much.

You let Valverde off the hook by trying to bunt there, control is his problem.
