Sox 5th Starter Making 1st Start of Year?
I didn't bash you, bro. In fact, I enjoy your posts very much.

Holy shit
Wow. He'll probably be out until the all star break, what with the rehab assignment after at least three or four weeks. The elite third basemen in the American League are now MIA. No more Glaus, Mueller, Chavez, etc. That leaves PAY ROD. Oh yeah, and Mora has been starting at 3B.

Best starting pitchers theoretically available
Trachsel is one of those guys that just flat out sucked for a while there with four straight losing seasons up until his 2002 season in which he went 11-11 with a 3.37 ERA in 30 starts, and then 16-10 last year with a 3.78 ERA in 33 starts. He allowed less hits than innings pitched in 2002 and 2003. In fact, throughout his career, he has allowed 1994 hits in 1965 IP. I figured that it would have been much worse than that. And he's only 33. He'll probably be effective for another four or five years. Basically, he'd make on hell of a fifth starter.

Swap Wunsch and Cotts
I agree. I like Cotts, but he needs to work on a new pitch or two, sort of like what Schoeneweis did in Spring Training.

Wow, what a game. I was on the treadmill when Jose hit that home run, and I damn near fell off.

Ordonez rejects contract...
You never know, though. All three of those guys have displayed flashes of brilliance, and then some.

Ordonez rejects contract...
True, but I think that it might have been you who also said that those guys will become first basemen and designated hitters as well. They're not necessarily relegated to OF duty.

You need to just dispose of all the numbers in Glavine's case. The guy can just flat out pitch. He's a first ballot hall of famer without question. And he still has a couple years left, as opposed to guys like Tom Seaver, Steve Carlton, etc.

Sox 5th Starter Making 1st Start of Year?
Montreal is not that stupid. Don't you think that they'd like to hang onto guys like Tony Armas and Livan Hernandez so that they can be somewhat competitive right off the bat when they get to D.C.? They're both relatively young. And Vazquez is one of the top 10 starters in this league. Armas doesn't even begin to approach that guy's talent level. I don't know where you got that from. Is that what Gammons said? I know that they're a s***ty team and all, but they're definitely an exception in this case because they're moving to D.C. But you're looking at the right division. The Mets will be 10 games out of first come the end of July, with three teams ahead of them. It's Glavine time.

Do we really need to trade for any non-pitcher?
Yeah, we'll have more talent than the Yankees all of a sudden.

The playoff rotation would be set up like this: 1. Glavine (194 IP in the playoffs!) 2. Loaiza 3. Buehrle (home opener against the Yankees) 4. Garland Works for me! As opposed to: 1. Buehrle 2. Loaiza 3. Garcia (home opener against the Yankees?) 4. Garland I say hell no!

Gammons complements the Sox, but doesn't know our
You know, that is one hell of a point you make. 21 wins out of the 5th spot? That has to be an all time record.

Gammons complements the Sox, but doesn't know our
Which is what Mnsoxfan verified via internet search & displayed up top.... I also conducted a search. Wright won one, Stewart won one, and Cotts won one. Those are the three victories. You know that people are going to be like "Sox 5th starters haven't won a game since 2002!" because dumbf*** Gammons is too lazy to look into things.

Cotts went 1-1 last year. Yahoo doesn't have a page for him, though. I think he won his start against the Rangers? My memory is not what it used to be.

The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
Yeah, that one as well. 8 hits and 8 earned runs allowed in 2 innings. His home ERA is 4.20, despite that outing. So, subtract those 2 starts, and he's allowed 62 hits in 63 inning pitched with 12 walks. That's a damn good WHIP ratio, and batting average against is most likely in the .250 range. It's June already, and the guy only has 1 loss.

The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
Hey, dumbass (), it all boils down to one terrible game in Camden Yards. 5.2 IP 10 Hits 4.76 ERA 2.12 WHIP .417 Batting Average Against If you subtract this outing, he has only allowed 70 hits in 65 IP. I don't know about you, but that's not too shabby. Not to mention the fact that he hasn't been walking people (only 16 BB in 70 IP). And he's striking out one batter per inning at Comiskey! He is one solid home outing away from having a sub 4.00 ERA in Comiskey. That says a hell of a lot, as pitchers get lit up like none other at the "ballmall".

Randy Johnson and Tom Glavine (to a lesser degree) are the only two that would improve our chances of winning a World Series. I have my eyes on the prize, although I'm not so sure about others if all this Freddy Garcia talk is any indication.
