  1. Give me a break. I, and Red Sox fans alike where on his ass all season, and the guy came out in the playoffs and was completely flawless. I am sure you would have sent Dave Roberts in that ninth inning of game four with the season, and possibly your job on the line. :rolly EDIT: Hell, the rest of his life was on the line. Imagine if Roberts had gotten thrown out and the Red Sox had gotten swept. Terry Francona would forever have been considered along the likes of Bill Buckner, Grady Little, Bucky Dent, etc.
  2. I don't want to see Garland flourish anywhere else than for the White Sox, unless he was a possible Pedro/Lowe replacement in Boston.
  3. For some reason, and I might be wrong, I think some team will be willing to give up quite a bit of talent in a trade for Lee. One tier down from what the Brewers got for Sexson, if you will. Maybe a possible deal with the Blue Jays: Blue Jays trade: Vinnie Chulk, Kevin Cash, Acquilino Lopez, Ted Lilly, plus. White Sox trade: Carlos Lee Take it for what its worth. Like I said, I think Lee is a hot commodity in the trade market. Im not wrong, your not right, just two different opinions.
  4. in a perfect world, my outfield would be lee, jones, rowand. with that being said, lee is a hot commodity on the trade market, and jones is not. if your able to acquire and solve other needs by trading lee, then its a no brainer.
  5. garland is capable of being a twenty game winner in chicago, theres no reason to force him out of town.
  6. they value jd drew higher than they do andruw jones in my opinion. they can trade jones and get some prospects to retain drew, or they can keep jones and lose drew for nothing on the free agent market. the former is the obvious choice.
  7. c: burke/davis 1b: konerko 2b: uribe ss: visquel 3b: crede lf: Everett cf: Jones rf: rowand gload perez valdez harris burke/davis buehrle garcia contreras garland starter acquired in carlos lee trade. politte cotts marte takatsu
  8. or atleast don't trade Garland to acquire Ortiz.
  9. The Braves want to dump Andruw Jones. No need to go out and hand them over quality talent in this type of deal. Andruw Jones for prospects, and no deal for Ortiz.
  10. Most likely just some kink in the contract.
  11. I love this mindset, and with that being said, what do you think about going out and trading for Andruw Jones? He is currently owed 51 million dollars over the next four years if I am not mistaking, but if we can get that contract down from 12 to about 7-8, I would love it. 27 years old, gold glove centerfielder, 30-40 home run power, 100+ rbis and a high .200's average. Someones going to take him off the Braves hands, why not it be the White Sox.
  12. I agree. I am sure Super Jew as he is called in Boston would bring alot of jewish people to the park aswell.
  13. The Curse of The Dogs. I knew dog day was a bad omen.
  14. No, I watched 176 Red Sox games this year, and missed his numbers. :rolly
  15. A winning team can be built with a 65 million dollar payroll, and it doesn't include paying Magglio Ordonez or Randy Johnson for a third of the payroll.
  16. Gabe Kapler filed for free agency. He's an excellent ballplayer, a class act, and a team player with immense talent. If the White Sox trade Lee or something of that sort, I hope they look long and hard at Kapler.
  17. which is exactly how the Red Sox differ from the Yankees. Theo Epstein came out yesterday and flat out said, we know we arent going to be able to resign them all, and I understand. As frustrating as Varitek gets at times, I just can't see him anywhere else but in Boston.. Keep in mind, I couldn't see Nomar anywhere else but Boston either.
  18. I guess the glasses were left on for this one, but seeing Manny play everyday will do that to you.
  19. I like that idea but Tek ain't going to LA.
  20. Forget loyalty. When JR has a chance to hire a guy this respected, and this well liked, he'll go for it. Especially considering ratings will thrive this year with Hawk and Stone, which only puts money in his pocket.
  21. Frank Thomas has been a hell of a ball player for 14 years now, he's a professional hitter, but not a chance he's the best right handed hitter in baseball anymore.
  22. Pujols!? Call me in five years when he's put up nine seasons of a .300+ average, 30+ home runs, and 100+ rbis. Come on, your not going to argue that? EDIT: I am not taking anything away from Albert Pujols, he is the best young hitter in baseball, but until he surpasses what Manny has done, not a chance that he's a better hitter than Manny.
  23. Okay I am not going to get in another argument over nothing with some jerk. I'll do the right thing, realize how childish you sound when you refer to the Red Sox as the "Blow Sox" and laugh it off.
  24. No doubt, thats fine, but I like I have said and done all along, I'll stick up for what I know and believe in. Am I wrong for doing so? Wait a minute, I thought you guys didnt watch the World Series or even the playoffs for that matter unless the White Sox were in it?
