  1. Congrats on the 18,000th post there! I'm glad I induced it, however we're spam masters tonight.
  2. I remember the Alk Trio release, it was like 10 bucks around these parts. To me, that's reasonable for a cd and I paid the same for Taking Back Sunday's album, and Yellowcard's Ocean Aveune too. I think 15 is my limit when it comes to buying cds unless it's a double or has a dvd or something.
  3. They played with Pedro the Lion and Ben Kweller when they came to town (Death Cab) that is. The show was 18 bucks and Pedro and Death Cab made it more than worth it. They don't pull any stage gimmicks or anything, but they play really well and put on a good show. Yea, I know they're from Seattle (as is Pedro), my roommate from Oregon got me into them. They're just starting to get a solid following across the country, and it can mostly be attributed to The O.C. oddly enough. Their song "A Lack of Color" was played pretty much in full during one episode, and the character Seth drops their name all the time. Itunes is defintely the way to go to grab independent music...they don't have production costs so they can charge the same thing for everyone. I agree with you on the not paying 20 bucks for a cd concept...20 bucks for a cd is insane. That's mostly why I download because cd prices have gotten outrageous. Answer: Postal Service was a spinoff of Death Cab I believe. I'm 99% sure the lead singer is the same.
  4. Yea, all the death cab cd's are pricey because they're probably on a low run so the label has to charge more to cover costs. My tip for you is (if you really enjoy them) is to download their albums off of itunes. 10bucks per album, I pretty much got the rest of their collection for 30 bucks (i already had transatlanticism). I bet you're right about Yellowcard and playing in Cali. Maybe my expectations were too high for them or something, but I'm quite sure I need to see them at least one more time to get a good read on them. However for knowing who Death Cab is without mentioned "The O.C." gets you even more props from me.
  5. Gotta love the Yellowcard...one of my favs as well. However, I wasn't all that impressed with them live, they were decent but I thought TBS and Alkaline Trio blew them away. Yellowcard was defintely in the top tier of bands there and you could tell the difference in quality between them and the lower-tier bands, but I thought they would be better. Maybe it was the short set or the fact that I wanted to hear more of their old stuff, so I guess I'll have to see them again. Btw, if anyone knows of Death Cab for Cutie they're one of my favorite bands and one of the best bands I've seen live. I highly reccomend them and their newest album: transatlanticism.

    Rescue Me

Dude, I've seen Eliza Dushku in PERSON. I was at a filming for Conan O'Brien (great times, Conan is hilarious) and she's even hotter in person. She had this pink skirt on...ok that's enough but you get my drift she's def. a knockout.

Damnit Jason, I'm following you around. And damn you for having the same interests as me. Lucky was a good show...I enjoyed it thoroughly.
  9. Dude, warped tour is amazing...great music all day. My only beef is that there are too many bands. Funny as it may sound, it screws the good ones because they only get to play 30 min or less sets. Still it was all good and I got to see some great bands, TBS, yellowcard, Alkaline Trio to name a few. As a result I also gained a hatred for Story of the Year...man do they suck live.
  10. Speaking of Taking Back Sunday...saw them at Warped tour this past tuesday in Milwaukee. They were AMAZING. Very good performers and their lead singer is borderline insane. I say this because the stage had a roof (it was like a big trailer that folded open into a stage) and the lead singer climbed the stage, across the rafters and hung upside down as he sang the rest of "Cute Without the 'E'" It was INSANE, about 15-20 ft off the ground. Anyways, TBS = great band; one of my current favs. And Chisoxfn the album has been "out" (downloaded it) for about a month and it's great. I plan on purchasing it, don't worry, and you can listen to it on mtv.com if you want to this week.
  11. scoring 10+ runs? I'd have to say it's a pretty damn good record.
  12. Just because Minny has a 2 run lead doesn't mean TB is out of it. They're a tough team and they play hard...a 2 run lead isn't the end of them when only a third of the game has been played.
  13. Yoda I bet MB tosses a CG...but how would i get the payment?
  14. Leadoff hit? What a bum with a tired arm. Get Jackson out there
  15. I "hear" you ss2k, I knew that as well and I'm sure everyone else does too.
  16. No doubt that was intentional...the question is will Buerhle retaliate in an 11-0 game? I think he does and it makes the rest of this game interesting.
  17. I'm not worried about the tigers until I see how we play against them. I don't really care if we sucked against them last year...we played to their level, so to speak. So until we play them and get our ass kicked by them, then I'll be worried. Until then I'd love to see them beat up on the Twins.
  18. I agree he should have stayed put, I'm just saying that mistake washes out with the others. Granted we should capitalize on mistakes and reduce our own, however the luck has evened out so far.
  19. Maybe, however it kind of evens out there because of the errors. I'll take one run out of that situation anyday.
  20. A game update for those who are unable to watch, Sox putting up a mini-threat in the first. 1st and 2nd 1 out for Carlos.
  21. I had a german philosophy professor that used two of those words (esptiological and ontological) over and over again last semester. The class was mostly about design arguments and the possible existence of God or any other "higher being". Sad to say I wouldn't be able to tell you what either word meant now, nor would I be able to a couple months ago while taking the class. However I still pulled a B+ and have many a memory of those words being spoken in a thick German accent. Sorry to go extremely off-topic, but when I saw those words I couldn't help but hear them in that German accent and it made me chuckle.

1-AA? Yea that's some crazy stuff. My roomates and I had a 6-man Ivy League dynasty going. We imported the Ivy league into the Mountain West Conference and duked it out. Lots of fun and for at least the first couple of seasons it's really challenging. Once you get a couple of stud recruits they make you that much better but it's REALLY hard to recruit without a gagillion points. So yes, I would reccommend 1-AA if you're really hardcore or want to try something different.
  23. Hey, I mentioned Hamels! In fact that was the only guy I mentioned but I mentioned him nonetheless!
  24. Cole Hamels. I watched this guy on ESPN during Spring Training and he made A-Rod look STUPID with 3 straight changeups. He's a pitcher in the Phillies system so he might not get a callup this year but he'll be worth it. Oh and I guess you could always just go with Upton. That guy is going to be a stud.
