    Least favorite movies

Battlefield Earth is far and away THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME. This is quite possibly the only movie I openly yelled at in the theaters. And yes, it is sad I saw this flick in the theaters. :puke :fyou Travolta and your Scientist propaganda. I want my money back.
  2. Just scrolled at the bottom of the screen of Baseball tonight: Koch and cash considerations for Wilson Valdez. IMO it's good to see Koch gone, but we basically got nothing for him.
  3. For one, hold the phone on sticking a fork in us. Like I said in the game thread the Marlins are the best team in the NL w/Burnett and Beckett tossing like they did against us. There really is no doubt in my mind about this. However this series exemplified the glaring weaknesses we have been outlining for weeks: 1) The need of another SP. Schoenweis is a 4th starter. Period. Getting a starter of 3rd Starter quality or better moves everyone into their pefrect roles. 2) Another bullpen arm. Preferably a bullpen arm that is not wild and can get guys on both sides of the plate out. Granted, this type of arm is hard to find...so I'll be more than happy with one that has great control. 3) A Left-handed bat. Preferably a left-handed bat that can play CF (*cough Steve Finley cough*) This series showed this glaring weakness each night. Everytime a team marches out an above average RHP it's more than likely this team will lose. Sad but true. This series was defintely a cause for concern. Should we hit the panic button? No. Let's wait until we struggle at full strength before we do that. However, this team is at least a couple trades away from fielding a team that can win this division.
  4. I hate to sound like a broken record, but bringing in Shingo against the PH would be certain doom for this kid. No way he can adjust to him.
  5. bring in Shingo. This is the game right here.
  6. Dear Cliff, Do not let Castillo get a decent lead. Your Pal, Fotop
  7. Holy s*** Cabrera blew it. He should have killed that pitch and he knows it.
  8. If Cabrera gets on or Castillo gets in scoring position, Shingo should enter.
  9. Christ...they better hold him at first or this game is as good as done.
  10. Soxnbears, I haven't seen the rest of the comments nor was aware. I was just shocked at the response I got for expressing my opinion.
  11. To end the Perez discussion, I just get a bad feeling about the guy. He seems to be one of "Ozzie's favorites" to me and IMO that cannot bode well for the team because it denies ABs for younger players who may have equal or greater talent. However, I feel as though I've turned into the "stereotypical perez basher" to the rest of you within this thread. I mean all it took was one comment and people pounced on me like mad. So I'm going to stop talking about it because the RF situation right now seems like a judgement call to me, and different strokes for different folks I suppose.
  12. Against LHP, Rowand eclipses Perez by FAR. I guess you could defend him against righties, but Gload hasn't lollygagged plays like Perez. EDIT: Rowand is the best defender and has the best arm of the three btw.
  13. But why should Perez platoon? Wouldn't a Gload/Rowand platoon be better? It just doesn't make any sense to me, but that's just me. I really think Timo's role on the team is as a late-inning pinch runner/situational hitter. Whether Mags is hurt or not.
  14. My god, Marte is dealing tonight...maybe he's turned the corner. If so, then he'll give a great boost to the bullpen.
  15. CWS, the comment was in green. Granted what was said about Perez wasn't, and I'm glad he's won us some games. However, if he continues to get this much playing time the bad probably will outweigh the good. You can't expect to be a great team with this guy in the lineup. That's just my opinion. I mean he hasn't played THAT great to warrant the both of you jumping on me so quickly? Has he?
  16. If back to earth means .280 hitter then I'll be more than happy, but IMO he's proved that he has the ability to hit and he's only 24. So he's most defintely a keeper.
  17. You're right, I guess he should play everyday...He's the key to the offense.
  18. Timo "I'll get playing time for the rest of the year because of one at bat" Perez grounds out to Gonzalez.
  19. Burke goes fastball hunting. Flyout to LF on the first pitch, one down.
  20. Btw, anyone notice how much the Marlin fans LOVE Choi? It's like night and day compared to the bum fans at Wrigley. I still firmly believe that if Patterson every got the hell out of there he'd be one hell of a ballplayer.
