No one might believe me, but I'm sitting here watching the game with my dad and I just said Frank is hitting a 3-run homer.... And what do you know...he does. 3 run Homers are MURDER
-
Alright Timo! Two Out Rally! 3-2
-
Koskie would have made that play
-
Can't believe they turned that DP on crede....but game's tied. 2-2.
-
Good Hustle by Jose. Let's get 'em back this inning.
-
Amen aboz. I don't care if Mags is limping around the bases, we need his stick.
-
Double for Hunter. 2-0 Minny
-
Uribe gets picked off. Not good.
-
They both limped off, both pulled from the game... It doesn't look THAT serious. Don't worry guys.
-
I don't know...Cy Greisinger (sp?) is pitching tommorow.... LOL.
-
I love runs...we all love runs.... But boy do I love runs when they come on two outs! This is the type of hitting we need!
-
I've bought the last couple games in the OOTP series (OOTP 5, OOTP 6), it's really good if you're into the management of a ballclub and don't care about "being" a player (doing the hitting, pitching, etc.) I really like it.
-
Just got here Cheat, got tired of playing OOTP baseball.
-
Uribe's weak play at 3rd saved by botched baserunning. For those of you unable to watch Uribe booted a ground ball towards the dugout, the runner recognized this and thought he could run home. Got thrown out by A TON at the plate. Stupid, Stupid Injuns.

Alrightty finally gametime. Let's go Sox!
-
I'm 4-1 this year, seeing the only home victory vs. the Yankees, two wins against the orioles (buerhle and diaz) and yesterday v the twins (buerhle again). The only loss was Garlands 1-0 loss to BAL, which was the most boring game to watch....EVER.

Well I guess you're right about Lee wite, we faced him once last year... shows what Dave Wills knows on ESPN Radio. As for Silva, I know I can't pass judgement on the guy after one outing seen in person, but I can't imagine a guy with only two pitches having sustained success. Unless his "Power Sinker" is that crazy, I doubt he can keep it up. He really didn't have the movement Zambrano does. The Twins did do well in that trade, seeing as they wouldn't be able to retain Milton anyways. However, I still stand by my comment that Silva needs another pitch or he'll flame out. Hitters adjust, and once the book is out on this guy they'll just hunt his fastball....hey maybe that's what our guys did today.

Nice seats SFF, I was right by you in section 133 row 22. And yes, today's game DID kick ass.

I bet most of this has been mentioned already, but here are a few things I noticed today at the game. Here are just a few comments about both squads: Hitting: Sox -Harris NOT faking bunt in any of his at bats. Is it just me or does he seem to be a better hitter when he doesn't fake bunts? -Thomas really got squeezed by the ump today. Bad calls for him all around, and if the umps start calling the inside strike on him he could struggle. -I have a feeling Ordonez is going to start tearing it up soon. He went to Right Center with authority today, a sign that he's getting back on track. -Even though Crede is hitting the ball hard, he is still pressing with runners on base. I distinctly remember an at bat with the bases loaded and crede promptly going 0-2. Hopefully he'll bring the same approach in these situations he does in empty base situations. -Konerko and Lee were solid...still saw some bad swings, hopefully their plate discipline will continue and they'll think opposite field. Twins -Lew Ford is the hardest out in their lineup. Period. This guy really battles at the plate. -Everyone else is pretty much same old twins...scrappy, fundamentally sound hitters. Pitching/Defense: Sox -Buerhle was really crisp today (obviously). He really hit his spots well and had multiple pitches working for him. -Harris played a decent CF. My only beef with him out their is his arm strength, if this is a common place for Willie we're going to see a lot of runners going 1st to third following line drives over the infielders. -Valentin made 2 errors. Mental mistakes were what they looked like, but he ranged to some tough balls as well. Still probably the best defensive SS on the team, with a slight adv over Uribe. Twins -Silva is nothing special. He has decent command, but he lacks the arsenal to sustain success. He really needs another pitch, right now he was only throwing fastballs and sinkers. -Twins pen weren't tossing hard at all. Roa was a softie, and Balfour personified his name. That's about all I got from watching today's game...it was exciting to see our hitters become tough outs for once. It was also exicting to see Buerhle follow up his last start, I watched both in person and I'm really optimistic about the rest of his season. Looking to the Indians, they're on a winning streak and Cliff Lee is a real up and comer. The good news is he's left handed, the bad news is the sox have never seen him before. However, they hadn't seen Silva either so who knows. Also I think starting Felix on three days rest may be a mistake, but hopefully he can give us 6 strong. In conclusion, Sox dominated today when they really needed it. The only sad part about today's game was sooooo many people left early. Like before the 7th inning early. At least they were there though, so I can't be too picky. WTG Sox, let's keep it up on the road!

well what do expect from a guy sitting on the bench all night? I don't blame him. (i'm speaking of uribe of course)
-
swing 3-0...do it. j/k guys
-
I know this doesn't apply to the game much but that gopher ball being thrown back on the field makes me sick. We're not the friggin' cubs!
-
it makes sense though when sandy catches and guys like schoe pitch (who has the worst pick off move ever). you don't see this happening with buerhle on the mound and olivo behind the plate... Maybe this is just another reason to increase Mo's playing time. As for the game, I think we're in decent shape. guys are hitting the ball hard and schoe is pitching well although he's giving up a lot of hits. However, all of the hits are your standard terrible twins hits (ducksnorts, see-and-eye singles, etc) Oh yea, and jones just got thrown out stealing third.

Well let me first say that I'm glad to hear you're alright Cheat...I was at the game last night (I was behind the plate though so I didn't have a good view of what was actually going on) and for being a fan that has being going to at least 20-30 games a year for the last nine years I'd have to say that last night was quite possibly the worst night for fights, maybe second to the Cubs v. Sox game last year when they had to clear out a whole section of the upper deck. What scares me though is the fact that this game really didn't have any lasting rivalries or any ill-will towards the opposing team. It was a half price night against the freakin' Orioles. Granted the problems with usher and security are scary too, don't get me wrong, however the fact that this was such a random night makes me believe that this could become a common trend. The sad fact is it is those like you Cheat (myself included in this group) who don't put up with ignorant fans who lack the proper knowledge yet continue to be jackasses are the ones who probably get hurt in this situation. I'm not saying I've gotten into a fight at the park, but I have done the same thing you did...corrected drunken fans on their stupid comments only to get them to lash out at me because their ego was hurt in front of their buddies/girlfriend/etc. Good thing for me is that I was young for the most part (I haven't done it in awhile) so how can one justify beating up a minor? Anyways, my point is this really needs to stop. I've always thought it was somewhat understandable at Cubs v. Sox games, just because tempers are high, egos are big, and the beer flows like water. Even though I believe it to be understandable I don't condone it, nor do I want to see it happen, but when I do it doesn't surprise me. But to have this happen on random nights (last night, royals' series, etc.) is a cause for concern. That is why I hope this issue is addressed before this gets to be something that is par for the course. This is obviously something we don't need, especially with the reputation the park already has in the media. Again Cheat, I'm glad to hear you are O.K. and hope that the guys that did this to you get what's coming to them whether it be jail or karma.

I don't think the move was made yet, but I would assume it's burke when it is made...no reason to carry 3 catchers, unless alomar is hurt or something along those lines.
