hmm surprising, he always seemed to me since coming to Dallas that he had been a positive contributer.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ May 23, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) Apparently the Panthers released Keyshawn because of his contstant mouth in the locker room as well. Where did you hear that, Ive only read he was a positive contributer for them and he really wanted to help mentor Dwayne Jarrett too.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 23, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Why do you say that? Because you've got to be dedicated to post on a message board for your team? (I'm not disagreeing. Just curious if that's your reason.) most likely, although we did see a jump of posters after we won the WS

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 23, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) I prefer team OPS; it's .688. That's good for 30 points behind Baltimore for 2nd to last in the AL, and 27th in the majors. I think as far as team stats go runs scored is more important. If we are looking at individual players i agree I tend to look at OPS.

Keyshawn was not overated by any means, and outside of Tampa he wasnt a team cancer either.

winning this game will be huge especially with the devil rays coming into town. I know devil rays have played us tough in the past but fact is they are a bad team and with a win here would give us some really positive momentum going in.

You cant compare Danks to Buehrle until Danks develops a cutter. What makes Buehrle so good is his cutter and his control. Danks is similar to Buehrle in that he is a left hander and he works fast thats about it.

Hibbert is going back to college, this is great news I didnt want him near the Bulls. The guy is a stiff, he would be a total non-contributer in the NBA that punishes slow players like him. -

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:14 AM) I'm sure they would find the next Jay Marshall or Fabio Castro to make their bullpen that much tougher. Fabio Castro has been demoted to AAA and he is on the Phillies who dont have what I call a strong bullpen and Jay Marshall has an era of 5.03 -
I use to watch it everyday when Harold Reynolds was still there, now that he is gone I watch it just every so often and it isnt nearly the same quality of show.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 23, 2007 -> 12:31 PM) Compared to Ordonez, Dye in 05 was significantly better defensively. He has taken steps backwards towards Ordonez territory the past 2 years with age, but there's no denying in my book that he came in as a good defensive upgrade from Ordonez. I dont agree at all, maybe that of Ordonez post injury, but Dye has been slow out there in RF every year he has been with the whitesox. Ordonez was a better fielder for us than most seem to give him credit for. Dye does seem to catch any ball in his area but the problem is his area is smaller than most RF's. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) I mean for the Hawks to trade up 2 spots, are they going to have to give up more than a future 1st? It also depends whether or not Portland thinks they can get by with Aldridge playing at center for the next decade, instead of Oden. Of course they could just select Oden, move Aldridge to the #4, and trade Randolph for anything. Of they could think Durant moves into the SF spot, Randolph stays at PF and Aldridge is the center. A lot of scenarios here. In all of this, I'm not saying Portland SHOULD trade down a couple of spots, and they've had a bad record of doing it before when they traded out of Deron Williams' spot to pick up Martell Webster, but if Kevin Pritchard can pick up a lot of assets, then that's something he may look at. But if I'm Atlanta, I do anything I can to try and get Oden and Conley in this draft. Getting those 2 would turn the Hawks into a playoff contender for next season. Dude you are talking crazy, No way either Seattle or Portland move out of their spots in the draft. You would have to give up the world for either of them to move. Hawks are stuck at 3rd they arent going any higher. You can make an argument for Portland taking Durant over Oden, although even that is highly unlikely. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) Would Memphis still be interested in the Bulls' first round pick? I still have my eye on Gasol, unless there's a chance that Hibbert falls to the Bulls. Ninth overall + Gordon + Nocioni probably wouldn't get it done, would it? Who is our scorer from the outside w/out Gordon? The lane would be totally clogged up because than the only person who could hit a 3 on this team would be Hinrich. And Hinrich isnt even all that great at it... -
QUOTE(fathom @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) My friend was around him for every Durham home game....he used to tell me horror stories about him prior to his troubles being reported in the media. Has he met him while Dukes has been in the majors though? I havent heard anything about him being a cancer in the devilrays clubhouse.

I dont know how they can keep Randolph now, he has to be on the trade market. They probably are going to want a guy who can play the SF position for him. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) Danks is left handed and projects better than McCarthy anyways. If Masset is anything, it's a brutal robbing as is without Masset. The whole reason Texas made the trade is Brandon was ready now, and Danks and Masset supposedly weren't, and that logic is not going so well. Well considering Masset was in AAA last year and dominated as a RP in the arizona league or whatevr, im sure he was thought to be ready. And yes, it was thought Danks was a year away which so far it seems like that was definitely incorrect. But its still way way 2 early to judge this trade. -
Shields has pitched well but Kazmir has had some rough outings this year though, and Kazmir usually doesnt go to long into games which leads us to the vulnerable bullpen. We should win atleast 2 of 3 if not sweep the D-Rays even if both their best SP's are going.

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) If I was a Ranger's fan, I think I'd be contemplating suicide... B-Mac has had 3 very good starts in a row, he has a blister in his hand now or something but he was really turning it around. In the end I think this can be a good trade for both teams. Probably a little better for us though. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ May 22, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) No, I'd never want to meet Dukes. He picks fights with his own family most likely. Again you have read prob 2-3 articles about him and have no idea what kind of person he really is if you get to know him. He might be a scumbag, and if i was able to pick any one person in the MLB it wouldnt be him. But you make a lot of comments about someone that you have no clue about. Its different from Bonds because Bonds is in the media spotlight everyday giving you a little bit more idea to see the kind of person he is. Still someone who judges Bonds just solely what they see on TV is an equally ignorant person.

Im glad the Griz and Celtics both didnt get in the top3. I think both of them tanked some games to get to where they were at. They might of been near the bottom if not at it anyways, but they both should of had more wins than they did. I bet Gasol is going to want out of there even more now, one of their reasons to him for staying was going to be the addition of either Oden or Durant. -
yeah this defense is really dissapointing behind Danks, if anything you should be better behind the rookie who needs it more than the other 4 veterans. Im so sick of seeing Pablo play now, loved him off the bench hate him everyday. Although minus the 1 mistake Pablo made some fantastic plays last night.

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 22, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Now, I am not saying Kemp is a nice guy or anything, but if I was getting seated somewhere and the only two spots were open were by Kemps and Dukes, I'd choice to sit next to Kemp. Also, Kemp doesn't have any drug history like Dukes, right? Considering you have never actually met either of the guys thats a pretty dumb statement

No way anyone is going to give him 15 million a year, that would be insane and id pity the franchise that does that -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 21, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) Getz got hurt last night, and Brian got hurt tonight, just for clarification. Getz has an ankle and Brian screwed up his shoulder/neck area, they weren't really sure. Carter was quiet tonight for once (0 for 3 with a walk), Schnur was 1 for 3 with 2 walks, Cunningham 1 for 3 with a walk and sac fly, Ricks 1 for 4, Shelby 1 for 4 and an RBI, Lucy 0 for 5 as he's slumping a bit. Owens 2 for 5 with a double, run, walk, k, and CS, Fields 1 for 4 with a run, 2 RBI, a walk, and hit by pitch. Sweeney 1 for 5 with a 2 run single and 3 k's. Vasquez was REALLY good tonight for the Knights (2 IP scoreless, 1 hit), as was Bukvich. No Prinz but he did throw 27 pitches last night in a inning that had 2 hits and 3 k's. Broadway finished with a 5 in every category except 3 walks (yeesh) and got a ND. Wing (1.2 IP scoreless, 1 hit, 1 k) and Day (1 scoreless, 2 k) were great in relief, but Whisler was meh (5.1 IP, 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 2 walk, 3 k). Rodriguez and Torres were great for W-S, and Rasner was good for Kanny. Umm Cunningham was 1 for 3 with a HR and had 2 runs but only 1 RBI. So no he did not have a sac fly. He did have a walk though but 2 K's

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 21, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) I agree that we need a catch all video game thread. I still can't figure out what system to get (PS3 or 360). If you can afford it go for the ps3, all you need to know. Both are very good systems though.

QUOTE(knightni @ May 21, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) I like how conveniently most of the suspensions are on minor league guys who'd never make it to the majors anyway. Guys that have the talent to make majors or who are already in the majors are probably too smart to take performance enhancing drugs now. Or if they do it would be the top of the line sort that would not be found in tests.
