  1. I think Teix is a solid 1B but the Rangers will want more than Garland for him. Of all their players he is going to take the most to get.
  2. Wow the league officiating is having problems this year. They already screwed the Raiders twice....This mistake is unexcusable though that would of for sure made the game go to OT.
  3. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) As much as I dislike the guy as a player, I never would have hoped for this. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=2173044 Talk about a patch-work secondary, he was the glue holding it together, now it will be chaos. Who am I kidding, the Pat's will still find a way to win. From seeing the injury I think most people guessed he was done for the season. I dont think it will hurt the Pats too much it seems like they can plug anybody in any spot and he will instantly become a good player for them....
  4. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Magglio was an average fielder with a poor RF arm. He didn't have good range. He came in on balls well, but got bad reads off the bat and struggled going back. Saying Maggs had a "good arm" is just bulls***. Sorry. You're wrong. What RF havef worse throwing arms than Maggs? Carlos Lee went from being the worst LF I'd ever seen to being a below average fielder with virtually no range. Actually I dont thin I am wrong. Magglio was just an avg. fielder but his arm wasnt poor by any means. Its not an arm like Timo's or Dye's but its a good arm.
  5. Have to think of what went through Rex Grossman's head during this game. He is either very sorry the team loss or secretly happy that Orton got destroyed and he can get his spot back. I like Orton kind of but in my mind Grossman is still the more talented QB and even though he doesnt have a lot of live game experiance just being in the league for so long has had to help him.
  6. Frankie Francisco had a good season last year a course he also had that chair incident and has been injured this whole season.
  7. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) He doesn't anymore...not with that crazy Viennese knee surgery. No maybe not I havent watched a lot of Detroit games. But when Magglio was here he was a good fielder with a good arm. Dye is a bad fielder with a great arm.
  8. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Like I said, it helps when you actually watch the game and actually know what you are watching. Its always fun to watch a team for the first time and come on here acting like you know everything. Comes with being a teenager I guess, I used to be like that also. I love the parting shots that have absolutely nothing to do with me, nice job . The thing is you have no idea if I did watch it and you have no idea what my age is. You also have no idea how much football I watch or anything else. And were the steelers being outplayed even though they were winning yes... but they were winning and dominating someone means that the game is extremely 1 sided. Well when a team is losing the first 3 quarters.... Nearing the end of the 4th like a little over a min left and you drive to kick the winning field goal... that is nearly beating a team not dominating a team. I love when people assume they are smarter than someone and know more about a subject than them when they have never met them besides on a message board.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) That would be Sean Payton. He's in his 1st year with us since Maurice Carthon bolted to Cleveland to join Romeo Crennel. Payton's more of a high risk, down the field type of guy compared to Parcells' control the ball smashmouth policy. Payton was the Giants OC before he Fassell took over the play calling duties. I've been happy with the offense so far though, besides the rushing where we do a better job of getting Julius Jones going. He should do well against Oakland though. Yeah thats one thing that has seemed to got away from you guys these last 2 games. Next week you need to work on establishing the run and taking the pressure off Bledsoe.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) I think Mike Zimmer (the DC) in's a little bit of trouble ATM. He's never used the 3-4 before, and if the struggles continue, even though he's held in very high regard, Parcells might try to bring in one of "his" guys. But we got away with one today, and have got to perform better against an Oakland team that really pushed Philly today. Actually while it scored a lot I think your OC should be more in trouble. You guys really call a lot of questionable plays and than to top it off going for it on 4th down was by far the dumbest mistake of the season. Im not just going on about this game 2 the OC made some bad play calling in that 4th quarter against the Redskins too.
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Aaron Roward disagrees with you. He has stated that both corner outfielders cover more ground than last year's pair. Well than he is lieing because you can see how bad Dye's range is and you can look at the stats. As for Pods im not sure on that. With his speed in LF it makes up for his bad fielding skills and Clee wasnt that good in the first place although he was improving each year.
  12. QUOTE(bumptious96 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Uhhhhh....Todd Ritchie? I meant KW's era.
  13. QUOTE(TaylorStSox @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) How many times has Dye's arm stopped runners going from 1st to 3rd. We were terrible at holding guys for years. Maggs was horrible at it. Minnesota ate us alive going from 1st to 3rd. What are you talking about? Magglio has a pretty good arm too. Not as good as Dye but he had a lot more range than Dye in the field too.
  14. Well according to him even though the Steelers were winning most of the game and lost on a last 2nd fg they were being dominated by the Pats so I guess they would of lost in OT anyways As for Dallas the good thing you guys on defense is make adjustments on half time and held the 49ers to just a TD in the 2nd half. Although your defense looked really bad rush and pass.
  15. Well 1 Int was because Gage couldnt hang onto the ball and another Orton threw it right to the Bengals guy. But other than that Id say the Bengals did it on their own for the other 3.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) Pick up Politte's option. Trade for Carlos Delgado and Mike Lowell (If the Marlins insist on taking him along with Carlos.) Sign Mueller if Lowell is not acquired. Trade Crede, Marte, Vizcaino, and Garland. Try to bring back Frank. Wow I hope your dream off-season doesnt happen.
  17. If it wasnt for our late collapse it could of even been better but losing turned a lot of fans off this last month. Still its something to look forward too. Although if this Cleveland team is legit we got a lot of work to do this off-season to make sure this team can contend with them.
  18. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) The more you watch sports in your life, you will see its possible. I watch baseball everyday I can even if its not the white sox and as many football games as possible. And you can say even if they were losing they were outplaying the steelers but when your losing you cant be dominating.... losing and dominating dont go with each other.
  19. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) sounds like our lineup...still a CG 1 ER i want this to end in DET You obviously didnt take a good look at their lineup.
  20. huge increase in attendence this season and assuming we hold the division lead no reason for it not to continue to go up next season. If we do indeed lose the division It will be really bad for attendence next year... even if we do make wildcard. A course a run in the playoffs would help 2 or a 0-3 losing would really hurt. But for this season a lot I thought it was a great improvement.
  21. Im sorry whatevr way you put it when your losing for the first whole 3 quarters you are not dominating a game... Dominating means what we did to Detroit or Bengals did to Minny last week.
  22. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Ben was 12-28 with 3-4 of the catches being great snags by the receivers on horribly thrown balls. The Patriots outgained Pit 425 yards to 269. The Patriots were without Rodney Harrison most of the game also. The Patriots completely dominated the 2nd half and the score was only as close as it was because Brady threw a tipped interception inside the 10 yard line of the Steelers. Thats domination. Ok when your are losing the game for the first 3 quarters you are not dominating... it isnt that hard to understand. Also keep in mind they won on the final drive of the game so it isnt like they just destroyed them in the 4th quarter and it wasnt close.
  23. Im still not sure if the real Buehrle is back yet. Did anyone look at their lineup. Of the players who had enough ab's to count the highest avg. was like .260
  24. Dye used to be good in the field but those days are behind him. He has been pretty bad out there this season not liability bad but below avg. Rowand is like our savior out there defensivly with Pods and Dye at the corners.
  25. Ben drove down the field to score the tieing TD The D choked totally on that last drive. And how does a 23-20 where Steelers led a lot of the game considered to be dominated by the Pats?
