  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Let's see. A good prospect who's a part time player on a contending club. . . . . . . Kevin Youkilis. Well they have a guy who won a batting title not 2 long ago starting ahead of him and if we spend as much money as them for F/A and resigning our top guys i wouldnt mind benching a rookie.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Orton does... Not yet at least....
  3. considering Schilling and Pavano are both pitching like crap now I wouldnt really call it an upgrade. Id like to see how Clemens would do in the AL too..... He wasnt that great his last years in the AL than goes to the NL and is all of a sudden super dominant again. Anyone check out the bluejay team, that would be a damn good team.
  4. I think its good, the hitters parks are good because they teach the pitchers to not allow the HR ball and gives them a taste of how its going to be in US Cellular. The pitchers park is good because its like a confidence booster in the middle for them in a way. Also hopefully it teaches our hitters that you dont need the HR to win like our current group of hitters think.
  5. Well since he is in Charlotte I think he does know how to pitch in a hitters park considering thats a pretty big one. In Moneyball lol you would think that no pitcher has ever succeeded there.
  6. Id love to see Borchard up here. It isnt like he is going to hurt us offensively with the way we our hitting now anyways and this could be the last time we see him in a sox uniform.
  7. They brought back Quinn and our old offensive coordinator lol... his name slips my mind right now... Oh well I heard Quinn and Tony G had some good basketball games vs each other.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) thats not what im saying. I think that Anderson will be the 4th OF'er next year, but there is no room for Young and Owens. Dont try to make it into an argument that its not. The debate was whether or not Young would come up and start. Exactly thats where the argument ends.... You dont bring one of your top prospects up to be a 4th OF.... If he is up he is going to be starting.... anyone knows that who knows anything about minor league prospects. You dont bring up your prospects to be bench warmers.
  9. How does Anderson prove he is ready to be a starter? He was the only bright spot on the whole Charlotte team in the 1st half of the season and has hit the ball well. So what else does he have to prove to be ready.
  10. You obviously dont know much about the minor leagues to compare Anderson and Borchard.......
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 02:43 AM) Nice find Jim. I'm going to stick a copy of this in the AAP I'm doing of Sanchez for longevity. This is an old post you know?
  12. Dont care much about Worrell and Reese but Gray was an important part of this team playing safety when Brown or Green needed a break or had an injury... I love his hard hits.
  13. I think for sure Chris Young, Ryan Sweeney, and Owens should all be in AAA next year the only ? of those being Sweeney... As for Anderson I have no clue what the plans are with him I guess a lot of it depends on what happens with Konerko.
  14. He has been struggling this year hasnt he? Anyways I still hope next year he makes the move to Low A.
  15. As long as he makes it b4 the season starts and maybe get in a pre-season game im happy with him. He wasnt going to start the season anyways.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) The walks were there last year. In reality, it is his strikeout rate that is down this year more than an increased walk rate. His walk rate right now it one walk in every 6.75A AB. Last year it as one in every 7:04 AB, so there is a slight increase, ut that would only equate to 2-3 more walks this season than 2004. His strikeout rate however is now one K per every 3.55 AB where last year it was one K per every 3.2. That equates to 15 less strikeouts. Neither number is a huge improvement, but it tells me he is at least headed in the right direction, but holding his walk rate and cutting down his strikeouts, while maintaining or exceeding production levels. Well it isnt a huge difference but than again last year he was going against Low A pitching and this year vs AA which makes that difference even more important.
  17. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Don't forget Ron Turner On his way to the game with Game plan in hand. wow thats low... :puke
  18. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) You dont know anything, I MEAN ANYTHING, about Football. That is the most ignorant statement regarding Football I've ever read. Guess you didnt read what you said in the other thread?
  19. I cant see how people are siding with Benson. He is getting inbetween 3rd and 5th round money so he basicly has nothing to complain about. I wasnt exactly happy with the pick in the 1st place and I think we will be fine w/out him if it comes down to that. Would i live him to sign hell yeah i would but if he is going to be a greedy asshole b4 he has even played 1 day in the NFL screw him. He will sign sooner or later though because his agent knows next year Benson will fall in the draft and if the Bears didnt take him there was some talk about him falling pretty far in this draft. Basicly next year he is mid to late 1st round pick at best which will pay him significantly less money.
  20. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) If the bears were my baseball team, i'd kill myself. What a terrible organization. Note: i'm not saying they're doing the wrong thing here, but they had to know of this kind of personality before drafting him. There were so many better players they could have gotten, bah. Eh they have bad ownership but I dont blame them for drafting Benson. Hell the guy was crying on draft day if I remember and he was trying to get rid of that Ricky Williams persona about him you would think he would sign quick. And now im actually impressed that they are playing tough with him and i support their move.
  21. Lol sounds even more like Podsenick now that I know they both run bad routes
  22. As long as Benson is staying in shape and maybe catch the last pre-season game but sign before the 1st game of the season for sure. He wasnt going to start at the begining of the season anyways but still its starting to get ridiculous.
  23. the fact that we didnt need adkins till the 16th inning showed Ozzie's management of the pen was perfectly fine. The Twins would of been in the same situation if they hadnt used guerrier for 4 innings.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Sorry.. but that's complete bulls***. Jay has not been saying any such thing and has not once yet said "I knew it..." If you're going to jump on the bandwagon at least get the facts right. He doesnt have to say the exact words I knew they would win all the way just by the way he talks and how he says it makes u think he knew all along we would be good if you didnt read his columns b4 the season started.
