QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Napoleon Harris is good....very good. He is good.... not very good.... Before he was traded I bet half the people here didnt even know who he was -
QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) i have made one thread that has to do with GB the Brett Fvare may retire thread...and was ripped by some because this is a sox board, and i got ripped from the get go .i posted it in the right forum and everything i havent made a thread saying Bears Suck Packers rule,i am a huge fan i can express it here and there, but it makes no sense that people start crap when all i did was start a thread about NFL Holdout Hey you should be replying to rangercal not me he is the one calling you out.... Anyways since this is a whitesox board most people here are obviously from Chicago or live there or somewhere close to it.... and just about everyone that lives in Chicago is a Bears fan and one thing Bears fans hate our greenbay fans... so dont expect a nice response when it comes to the packers.

Official NFL Season Predictions

QUOTE(AirScott @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) Culpepper won't do as good without Moss, but Culpepper's no Jeff George, either. Burleson is his #1. he's not a rookie, he's in his 3rd year now. they HAD 2 players, then they ADDED 2 players. that gives them 4, and Sharper's old but better than what they had, and their LB corps is actually pretty solid with Cowart, Harris, and Thomas, who could have a big year. You cant honestly believe their LB corps is good... Cowart will be injured and the other 2 are nothing special -
Why would a team give a s***load of talent away and pay most of his contract when they could of got him for 0 talent only a couple seasons ago.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) I think I hinted at that in my post. And I really still do not think it matters. They have a crazy amount of depth in that receiving corps...4 players all basically at the same skill level, all having their own special talents. Are recieving core used to be like that Terrell, Booker, Robinson, Gage.... and look at how that worked... Booker and Robinson had some ok years but nothing special.... I guess its time to find out how good of a QB Culpepper really is. -
Cub fans "classless" according to Cubs players
GoodAsGould replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Your point is stupid then. Saying a player sucks shows a lack of class regardless if it's done once, or 50 times.. for 2 minutes or 30. Ok but which is worse... a few scattered fans saying you suck Magglio or a 30,000 fans chanting You Suck Latroy..... I dont see how my point is stupid when you compare the homecomings of both players.... -

W/out Moss their recieiving core is just a bunch of avg. players 2-3's.... Burleson, Taylor, and Robinson all are solid 2's but none are a 1. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) This is the only thread I have read recently that has anything about the Packers in it... there have been a couple more i can think of

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) No i like it only a small number of you stinkin packers fans Death to all cheese heads.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) A few times.. when we were losing... the shallow end of the gene pool acted their shoe size. The point is it wasnt half as bad as the treatment Latroy got... -
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) That is why i cannot stand when it is considered a great rivalry when it's really not even close to being one at this point. Well even after us being owned so much recently we still have the better record vs them so there had to be times when we totally dominated them 2 and it was still a rivalry than.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 07:25 AM) Nate Burleson's 68 catches, 1006 receiving yards, and and 9 TD catches as the #2 receiver much of the year is not worthy of being the #1 receiver in Minnesota? That was with most of the defense's attention towards Moss..... their WR core is crap now w/out Moss but I think their offense will be ok. Culpepper is a better QB than some people give him credit for and their running game is pretty good... But its definitely wont be near as good as it was with Moss... -
Luol's wrist better, grew an inch over the summer

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Yeah. That too. :banghead he gets abused on picks -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 06:01 AM) I still think Felix could be a better set-up guy than a swing guy, but that's JMHO. He did have a very good September in that role for us last season. He just needs to make better use of his secondary pitches for starters. He was pretty damn good as a reliever if I remember right... him and Munoz both seemed to do good in the bullpen for the most part...

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) The NYPD said that if a random search turns up anything that they will prosecute. Yeah that when it starts to get wrong, it should be strictly just a search for bombs if they are going to do searches.

In terms of talent aquired the Brewers got the much better deal but in terms how it has helped each team its about equal id say... anyways I love Overbay but I dont want to way overpay for him now when he can prob be had for much cheaper in the off-season.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Travis Hafner is 28 years old. I wouldn't exactly call him a good young player. as terms of ml experiance he is young to the league... Anyways Buehrle is totally screwing over my fantasy team because of this!
-
Just because he wasnt a very good GM doesnt mean he doesnt know anything about the other GM's who he has probably talked to while being a GM. I think he was right on target with KW.

GoodAsGould replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I really hope we resign Tyson and Eddy because I really loved that bulls team and with basicly everyone getting better... it should be fun. Deng is my favorite player and now it seems this injury could really help his game since now he can use his left hand better. Chris Duhon Im a little iffy on. Id like to bring him back but if he is going to be a b**** in terms of money screw it. -
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Then, Smith would still come out on top. Smith took a team with considerably less talent to a BCS bowl. Don't even bother bringing coaches up because Meyer and Spurrier are a scratch. We're not in the hudles, but from all I've read, Smith's on-field and off-field intangibles were second to none. Idonno Grossman had to go through so many coaches in such a short period of time thats got to help his knowledge of the game learning from so many people. Even if someone isnt a great football coach players can still learn a great deal from them.

is anyone as tired of konerko as i am?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) How many veteran guys hit 40 HRs for 4-6 million a year? Well he only hit 40 HR's once and anyways ill take a guy with 25 HR's with a higher avg. Konerko's HR totals with the sox 24 21 32 27 18 41 22 curently this season.. His avg. .294 .298 .282 .304 .234 .277 .261 currently this season... Id much prefer the Konerko we had for the first 4 years with the high avg. than the one with the declining avg. and better power numbers these last 3. -
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Question: If the Sox clinched the division and home field advantage, and purposely losing the last 4-game set against the Twins would help them edge out the A's for the wild card, would you do it? You never ever throw games.... unless it would involve the yanks or red sox in missing the playoffs.
