  1. Actually Cleveland isnt as young as most people think they are... Sizemore and Peralta are the only real young guys and on their pitching staff the only young one is Sabathia who has been in the league for awhile.
  2. This was discussed b4 the season even started and someone found out that if the cubs are out of contention and the sox game has any meaning that they will do the switch. So be happy and dont worry.
  3. Didnt Rogowski used to have really big sideburns?... Hopefully Crede doesnt let them grow out that much lol
  4. QUOTE(fry the twinkies @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) Muscle pulls never go away. I severly strained me ab 18 months ago working out, and a bad movement there or a slight overload, and I tweak it again. Urlacher pulled a hammy last year. Difference is you arent half the athlete Urlacher is(no offense) and his rehab program was probably 10 times greater than yours.
  5. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) geez, everyone talks about how disappointing the yankees have been this year, but how about the red sox? neither of these teams are 10 games above .500. if the orioles were halfway decent (though thank you for beating the twins) they could have run away with this. Red Sox suck Yankees suck. Well the Orioles have been very injury plagued, Roberts has missed a couple weeks, Sosa a couple months and has sucked, whole OF has been injured(remember they had the rookie from high A playing against us) and than Bedard their best pitcher been injured and Javy Lopez... Bedard just came back and Lopez isnt 2 far away I think so they might take it. Im rooting for the Orioles if for nothing else means one of the red sox or yanks for sure wont make it.
  6. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) sadly its so true How, except last year he has been healthy his whole career
  7. That pudge HR was pretty amazing... that was high and in.
  8. QUOTE(farmteam @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) Perhaps I'm forgetting something, but why would the O's want Ward? So Palmiero can be the DH I say we do a 3 way deal get rid of baltimore... Pirates send us Perez, Marlins send us Burnett, we send Marlins Shingo, and Pirates Travis Hinton and Timo Perez
  9. this is kind of a dumb poll. Urlacher would dominate farnsworth... Farns is a cool guy with how he tackles dudes but compared to an elite LB in football....
  10. Wow that sucks, he was beat up and than to make it worse he was beat up by girls... thats a lose lose situation.
  11. Umm when Iguchi first got here he said he never really knew Shingo in Japan and actually doesnt talk to him all that much.
  12. This thread got to 5 pages how? Frank complimented Magglio 2 so lets go make a 5 page thread about Frank. Konerko says some dumb things no doubt but this isnt one of them especially since at the end he says it would only matter if we were .500 team or lower on Maggz welcome back party.
  13. Well lets see how we do against the yanks or red sox b4 worrying about that. Because one of them are most likely going to be our 1st round "foe" Unless baltimore makes a run but I think we can handle them in the playoffs.
  14. I just hope he can increase those power numbers... A lot of people thought he would get 30 some this year... I was hoping more on the lines of 25 but now ill take 15 lol
  15. QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I would have to disagree with Valido where you have him, I am not sure he and Young are not the 2 prospects we need to make sure we hold onto. I would have him in top 5 for sure, and likely #2 behind Young at this time, at least in terms of value. Valido is a very good prospect but not our #2 prospect... I think he should be in the top 10 though.
  16. QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) My point was more toward the accolades he seems to go out of his way to shower upon former teammates. Well Maggz was his teamate for a long time and b4 this off-season he seemed like a great guy and everything. Frank obviously respected him because he told Ozzie he was willing to move down the batting order for him. And Maggz was a very good player to us... If I was there i for one would not booh him, I wouldnt give him a standing ovation because of the way he left but wouldnt booh him.
  17. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) what are your sources for this observation??? Aaron's Rowand #'s g ab r h 2b 3b hr bi w ba ob sl% ops Man on 3rd an rbi almost every at bat I wouldn't consider that bad :headshake I think Hawk said that Rowand hasnt been that bad with men in scoring position but horrible with the bases loaded for some reason.
  18. KC and Detroit got in a big fight today in baseball from what I heard havent actually seen it yet. Anyways Hernandez was pitching for KC and plunked 2 batters earlier in the game. Than later on with a 4-0 lead I guess he threw a pitch that Carlos Guillen argued to the ump hit him but the ump disagreed. The very next pitch Hernandez hit Guillen in the head. Dont know exactly what happened from there one except Guillen supposedly charged the mound and Farnsworth tackled another guy I think it was Jeremy Affeldt.... I want to see it, it was awesome when Farnsworth tackled that guy on the reds not 2 long ago back when he was with the Cubs.
  19. Nuke these people with the mental problems obviously arent thinking straight and if they were they wouldnt put others lifes in dangers. Im not saying what they do is right but you dont go and shoot them in the head with a bullet after beating them up. At the same time they shouldnt be just able to get out of it, they should go to wherevr you have to go to get better. Than once fit to stand trial they should be charged for murder.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) It would be like that talk early in the off-season of Pods replacing Rowand in CF. I was throwing up at the thought of that. Well the difference is Pods is a crap fielder, just has good speed.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) Short answer...no, not even close. I've seen the two play and quite frankly, Rowand is basically as good as it gets out there. Ive seen the 2 play and I think your are overating Rowand a bit and underating Anderson.... I love Rowand... and no way in hell would I want to lose him like some posters think... but defensively Id rather have Anderson in CF and Rowand in RF than the other way around.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) No he shouldn't. Rowand is 5 times the defensive player in center field than Brian Anderson is. No knock on Anderson, but screw that, there is absolutely zero reason for the White Sox to move Aaron Rowand from CF. Only time he gets moved is if Torri Hunter or Andruw Jones find there way to Chicago. Brian Anderson is every bit as good as Rowand and has a better arm in CF.... also add in the fact Rowand is a natural corner fielder and Anderson a natural CF....
  23. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Because assuming Anderson will be able to step into a starting role next yr is ludicrous. Anderson might make the team next yr and if he catches fire he might eventually earn a starting nod but to trade someone on the assumption that someone will be able to make that jump is assinine. Next thread! Why do people keep saying this. If Anderson makes this team he is going to be a starter.... He isnt going to make the team to sit on the bench. Next year he either will be in AAA starting or in the majors starting. Do you know how dumb it is to call up your top prospect to the big leagues just to let him sit on the bench....If he is up here at the begining of next year it will be to start.
  24. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) St. Louis. In fact, I would have a very conflicted Series if it came to it 2,025 posts tell me otherwise
