Butler is awesome. And although I think in the future Kwame could be a very good player it obviously wasnt going to happen in Washington anyways.

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 06:52 AM) If he can ever get over his mental issues, he could be great. I remember another guy who was thought to be a great closing prospect named Curt Schilling who had some mental problems, but from what I hear, he went on to have a pretty productive career. Then again, there are also the guys like Bobby Seay, who never put it together. Only time will tell, but hopefully, Jenks will be closer to the next Schilling than the next Seay. I think Schilling still has mental problems

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) This is bulls***. I really don't understand why people continue to rag on my boy Mike Caruso, out of all the POS players we've fielded over the past 10 years why do people keep s***ting on Mike. He's not the only suck ass, dissapointing, underachieving player we've had, he isn't even the best example of such a player Leave Caruso alone god damn it. Who cares if they make fun of Mike Caruso? Are you Mike Caruso and we are offending you? Do you think Mike Caurso reads these boards because he was a white sox player once and likes to check up what fans think of him? Every player gets ripped on, Mike Caruso just happens to be a fan favorite

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I'm sure they will, however, once next season starts, they won't be allowed to. The contract will be solely with ESPN and Sega, and EA will be pushed out of the baseball market. It's too bad EA had to get greedy and purchase all NFL rights, because that ruined their chances of getting baseball rights. MVP is such a great game, I will miss the opportunity to purchase new versions. May I ask what difficulty level you play at, because from the looks of it you need to up it a level.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) You will be disappointed then. You dont like Brian Anderson?
-
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) And despite that 2005 weakness he is still sporting 7W, 2L, in 11GS. Do you now many pitchers would kill for a record like that after 11 starts? I know your a big stat guy and all, but cmon man... everyone knows that the W stat is the least telling of all.

Da Coach had a little more to say than that... http://collegehumor.com/?movie_id=165395

Nolan Ryan,..... give him a month to get back in shape and he can do it!

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) You can teach a kid everything in the world, but it will benefit him not one iota if they aren't receptive... Patterson thought he was the second coming from the time he was in A ball and since then has refused to change his game for all intents and purposes. How is that on the shoulders of coaches? Well part of the reason is the Cubs hyped him up to be the second coming of whoevr, and than rushing him through the system didnt help either. The sad part is b4 that knee injury he was actually hitting the ball pretty well. Although in my eyes that Felix Pie they got is going to be >>>> Corey ever will be

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Look at who he faced, plus he wasn't pitching on his normal schedule. I'm not worried. As long as his sinker is working, he'll be tough to hit. Well actually I think he was pitching on normal schedule

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) The Indians don't need a 3b. go look at aaron boone's stats.

I did answer you, its not apposed to be in green, I think I said go ask anyone older than you are.... if they have seen the original or read the book and ask them what they thought of the ending....

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) how bout the movie 15 minutes what about it lol? No real shocker ending. anyways Im not sure if it was mentioned b4 but the movie Identity has a pretty cool ending
-
this quickly turned into a hate thread lol ..... anyways KW cant get Roger Clemens so its a dream that wont come true My guy that we would be able to get is Oliver Perez... he is injured now but will be back in time for the playoffs and especially since the AL teams mostly havent seen him his slider would be devastating... He had a bad start anyways injury gives him the break he needed. If wasnt for the lack of offense last year Perez would of won a lot of games.
-
Another thing is Patterson would of had a chance to be much better if he wasnt so damn rushed. While in Young's case no way in hell is he in the big leagues next year, at least to begin the year and assuming we dont get a lot of injuries.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Who cares where your offense is coming from as long as it is coming? Thats what I say, I understand Anderson would struggle and all his 1st year up, but unlike Konerko he wont be batting 4th where his K's kill the team. While some people love Konerko losing him could almost be considered addition by subtraction. If the goal is to be a consistent offense we should get rid of the only player streakier than Juan Uribe....

Milkman you keep going on about McGuires swing, well to be honest he could hit those HR's b4 he was roided, unlike Sosa and Canseco.... He would of been an awesome HR hitter even without the roids.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) You could also use this logic for McGwire and Sosa. McGwire had a great swing and I have no proof he was on steroids. Well In McGwire you have Canseco's book and he always admitted to using that one substance which was legal than but not anymore.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) we have 4 all stars, how many did the Angels, D-backs and Marlins have? I think we are comparable teams to the Angels and Marlins... but D-Backs basicly won the series because of RJ/Schilling not because the rest of the team.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Have you ever heard the term "Hiding in plain sight."? I have been trying to point that out to you, he is always good in the first half and sucks in the second half, especially when it matters. You see it yourself, you just dont want to admit it because he is sporting a 2.41 ERA right now. Its funny how you completely ignore the rest of the post. The reason he is good in the 1st half is because he is fresh. Thats where the 20 day suspension comes in. To keep him fresh for the 2nd half.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) This had been on my mind as one of the strangest stories in a long time. http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-student10.html There had to be to it than that, people just dont randomly attack and beat the s*** out of you if you ask if their ok. I have a feeling the friend isnt telling the whole truth.

QUOTE(Stocking @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Would you be saying that today it is common knowledge, so perhaps you could see how i might find the ending weak? [/b] seriously? Im guessing you didnt even know what War of the Worlds was until recently when it was remade. And if thats the case than no point in talking to you about it, ask anyone who has read the book or watched the original and see what they have to say about the end.
