  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Sandler is already over-rated in every single aspect of life. :puke Place him and Keanu on the same boat for me, and site the torpedo's. Idonno Sandler isnt underated I dont think, but he also isnt overated. As for Keanu Reeves... he is way over-rated... I dont think you can even call what he does acting.
  2. If he wants 100 he is going to have to pick up the pace some. At the begining of the season it seemed like he was getting so many than he went in a stolen base funk for a bit.
  3. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Okay, if Aubrey Huff is back on the radar screen, should the Sox send Ross Gload to TB as the biggest part of the deal? Huff comes in and backs up Konerko and Crede for the rest of the season and gives us a tryout to see if we want to sign him instead of meeting Konerko's unreasonable demands in the offseason. Huff's not good enough defensively to hold down 3B full-time, but he's a better choice than Ozuna this year. Lol main piece Ross Gload? They will demand top prospects for Huff and probably since we dont have a Scott Kazmir prospect it would take multiple top prospects.
  4. QUOTE(Stocking @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Yep and why dont you look at the thread and see what some people that actually knew about the movie said.... Thats called being owned
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) Their OF is set for the next 10 years with the youth they have there. Delmon Young just had another article about how they need to promote him soon. Huff is going to be on the block, I hope KW has the phone number. I wouldnt mind having him as the back-up for Kong and the Of'ers D-Rays dont sell cheap. I think I heard somewhere a lot of GM's dont even ask because they know what kind of package the devils gm is going to want. I mean look at what the Mets had to give them for Zambrano.
  6. How much do you guys spend per game... for les say good not great but not bad tickets and for food and everything at the game. Im interested because im just starting college and will finally have my own car and s***, but if it costs 2 much I cant really afford to go because I can use all the money I can get my hands on to, I know the upper deck seats or whatevr are really cheap but dont want to sit up there. To be honest in my lifetime ive actually been to more cubs games than sox ones , my dad used to get free tickets from his business all the time and they were always cub tickets and since whole family is cubs fans beside me that wasnt a problem for them
  7. Didnt we almost hire Francona instead of Ozzie at some point?
  8. Rogers should of stepped down. His apology means s*** now because he isnt taking any responsibility for it. Its a joke to baseball that 1 day a man can commit a crime for no reason and than next day get paid money to play in an all star game.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Sandler. Sandler is underated?
  10. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:41 AM) ++ The special effects were really subpar, the acting (largely due to the horrible writing) was weak, and the story didn't seems to follow the comics OR make any sense. There was one part where they make Jessica Alba strip for no reason at all. Why would you complain about Jessica Alba stripping for no reason? I think the special effects were awesome and acting was fine its just that when you see a movie based on a comic book you expect action and there just wasnt much.
  11. depending on what we get in return I wouldnt mind if any of our OF prospects were traded. If its for a true ace I would be very happy with it, although if its for Kip Wells, Ted Lilly, or Zach Day type pitcher it would be hard to see one of them go.
  12. Lol bring back Kip Wells, nah ill pass on that one.... Tell them we give them Joe Borchard because they owe us with that Todd Ritchie trade
  13. Honestly Ive never ever seen Josh Fields play but from seeing how he progresses by reading BHams recaps and seeing how he struggled in High A first b4 starting to doing really good I think Fields will be good. Although I know his defense was kind of crappy when we first drafted him, I hope he has worked on that a ton, I hate defensive liabilities.
  14. I think the process of teleportation is so complicated it would be impossible for humans to understand it. I mean all that is involved with the process you would need 10 Einsteins just to get a start on it.
  15. Most of the movie is about how they become the fantastic 4 and than trying to to find a way to become normal again. Their is really only 1 action scene when they fight the evil guy and it isnt even that long. So if your looking for a movie with a lot of story its good if you looking for a lot of fighting and stuff than not for you. Overall it was a good movie but far from great. If they make a sequel I really hope there is a bit more action.
  16. I think im done with stats for now, this thread has been hijacked to be all about rf and zr and crede. Im just going to what my original post was and say While Crede is good defensively he isnt as good as some people think him to be.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) Balta, he got hit with a pitch on the wrist. I don't think you can bunch that in with him being 'injury prone'. I do agree that he is injury prone, don't get me wrong -- but, I don't think it's fair to classify an incident like that as him being brittle. Going for a flyball and pulling a hammy is one thing, getting HBP and breaking a bone is another. Yeah I was going to say, he is injured this year because he got beamed on his wrist and its broken. No one can predict that because It could happen to anyone...
  18. I think at first he went to Florida or something because thats when it was really bad with people going crazy over him. But really you havent heard much of anything about him until this article... Its really Moises Alou's fault this whole s*** happened to him.. if he didnt throw such a tantrum it wouldnt of been a big deal at all. And than the reason they lost is because their SS who had the best fielding % for the year chocked on an easy double play ball.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) Just cause someone is the frontrunner for manager of the year, it doesn't mean they're immune from criticism when they make AWFUL decisions during a game. I don't know how anyone could defend Ozzie's managerial decisions today. This A's series matched the Angels series at the Cell earlier this year in terms of terrible managing by Guillen. I can just imagine the heat Jerry Manuel would have received if he pulled some of the stunts that Guillen did this wknd. No doubt about it, Ozzie didnt manage a good series but thats not what he said...... the quote was Learn How to f***ing Manage Better..... Now this is Ozzie's 2nd season and he led us to an amazing first half and is way ahead of where he was last year in terms of being a smart manager.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) No. First of all ichro is first in range factor and third overall in zone rating. As i said... range is almost entirely a function of his number of "chances". Zone rating is what measures a players fielding abilty aka range. Just because range is in the title of range factor means nothing. Many titles are decieving and do not exactly mean what they say. I have given you the definitions of each and you choose to ignore them. If you like you can continue thinking you are right. Im using last years stats because they are a full season, thought you would be able to tell that after hearing the name Valentin at SS. So are you trying to tell me last year the amazing Sammy Sosa had the 4th best range in RF? And Dye who we all know doesnt cover much ground has the 3rd best range in RF? I think you are the one ignoring them because the definition for zone rating is The percentage of balls fielded by a player in his typical defensive "zone," as measured by STATS, Inc. That is saying how he fields within his range. I know you always think your right, but unless you can honestly tell me that Sammy Sosa has the 4th best range in RF And Moises Alou and Carlos Lee had the 4th and 5th best range of all LF's. And Mark Bellhorn and Dangelo Jimenez had the 3rd and 4th best range of 2B's... these are all 2004 stats look it up.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Willie - See ya in Charlotte. You really are dumb. Im glad people are officially dumb after having a bad series... :puke I mean its not like he is the front runner for manager of the year or anything WTF is that apposed to mean :headshake Finally something I agree with.
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) He grounded to third in his second AB. He almost made it to 2nd before that pop up came down. Yeah i was really surprised how fast he is and how he ran out that pop up, if the fielder dropped it he would of made 2nd easily.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) borchard is not a white sox kind of guy....he is as clutch as a tranny at the junk yard... :puke
  24. zone has nothing to do with how much ground they cover though. It judges how a player does within his range. For example, Tejada has amazing range at SS. If you look at last years stats he leads the league in RF. But in ZR he fell down to 5th, and Tejada has more range than izturis, gonzalez, valentin, and izturis. Or in another position lets take right field. Ichiro 2nd overall in RF but in ZR he is 14th... some guys ahead of him include: Jermaine Dye and Sammy Sosa. Dye being rated 3rd overall in ZR and Sosa 4th.
  25. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Agreed. Especially defensively. People now are starting to come around to the fact that he's a great defensive 3rd baseman, he makes so many tough hops seem routine and he does have a lot of range because he's very quick over at 3rd, I don't care what the stats say. He makes a lot of good plays on tough hops but he does not have a lot of range.
