  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 06:41 AM) Tell that to Eric Milton, Carl Pavano, Kris Benson, Jaret Wright. Now go look up the fact that Aaron is a career .288 hitter and one of the top defensive centerfielders in baseball. Its funny how you mention all pitchers when we are talking about a non-pitcher..... Pitchers and position players are different when it comes to contracts. With hitters you have to prove yourself more. A course there are still expections like Adrian Beltre but his year last year was >>>> Rowands and he always had that much potential.
  3. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 05:56 AM) Schnur just missed our top 20. It was between him, Fabio, and Collaro. We went with pure power potential with Collaro. 2 bad im a big Fabio fan
  4. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:53 AM) I don't think there is a way to mistake these 2 They got the same noses.... isnt that where you look first when you see someone's face?
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 05:10 AM) oh man, they'd never do it, but how sweet would that be?? If they ate most of his contract id be all over that.
  6. Its called the trifecta.... you can only do 2 shows for so long ... anyways i love football so I dont mind. Baseball tonight is only for highlights and they can do that in 20 minutes.
  7. Thats just Buehrle being Buehrle.... I hate when we baby pitchers..Let them have fun to as long as they arent burning their hands
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:46 AM) He has been kicking this around for a couple years now... i can see him retiring and staying retired... but i doubt it. Maybe El Duque will probe himself useful and get his brother over here. Livan is amazing.
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) Gio keeps the K's coming, hopefully his ERA comes down below 4 for the Warthogs by the end of the season though. Schnurstein's also an interesting guy to look at. He's ready for B-Ham, but stuck behind Josh Fields, so we prob won't see him there until next season. Has splits of .286/.355/.450 with 12 HR. As long as Gio is still K'ing people this year at High A im happy with him. It means his stuff is still fooling hitters which is good, next year im hoping he can keep the era down.
  10. I find it funny that Iowa's best athlete is Hoiberg
  11. I feel kind of bad for the guy. After his last injury he worked really hard to try and fix his mechanics so he can stay healthy and pitch deep into games. Now after 3-4 starts he gets injured again. I still remember watching him his rookie year and thinking absolutely amazing.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) While I was sitting in LF during the ninth today, I told him he did a good job last night and he nodded his head. Thats an amazing story
  13. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) You keep Uribe! He can play 3rd 2nd ss. Bye Willie!!!!! Exactly, Uribe is like the ultimate infield utility man and he thrived in that role last year b4 he got the 2B job.
  14. If the price for Guardado and Wagner are 2 high Id love to have Batista in our bullpen.
  15. QUOTE(Carlo Paz @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) If you want to know why teams are reluctant to throw in the towel, you need look no further than what happened to the White Sox after they made the "white flag trade". Despite the fact the our team sucked ass and was playing corpse ball, we were "only six games out" or some stupid s*** like that. Even though we had no chance of doing anything, and even though we got some damn good players for some players who would have walked at the end of the season, Sox management was raked over the coals for years and is only now recovering the attendance that was lost in a large part due to the bad publicity from that trade. The difference is we had a good team that was still very much in it, you sound like your Jerry Reinsdorf.... the team did not suck ass far from it...
  16. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) People will take any chance they get to rip on paulie......its disgusting Actually its disgusting how much people overate Paulie.... he could be hitting .220 but when he bats all the fans chant Paulie like he is a god......
  17. pitcher: Nolan Ryan batter: Ty Cobb or Bo Jackson(b4 the injury)
  18. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 05:12 AM) Griffey's been with the Reds 5 years already? Wow, time sure flies. Thats because he probably has only played for 2. Id love to have Griffey if the Reds ate a large part of that contract.
  19. Maybe Crede and Moises Alou had a phone conversation about how to help Crede's "grip" on the bat....
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 12:12 AM) This is the kind of thing that makes you look at an athlete or anyone famous that seems "evil" or just a jerk, and see that they're just as human as you or I. As much as we might not like them, there's still a damn good chance that they're still a good person. Exactly...While he may cost us a football player or 2 he is just doing his job the best he can and as a person is still a good person even though his job makes him seem greedy.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) Dumbasses.... He probably was the greatest cub... >>> sandberg at least.
  22. You can take out multiple bad outings from any pitcher and make them look good. The only reason people dont really count vizcaino's 1 bad outing is because he was the last person left in the bullpen and left out there to rot.
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) You got to love America. I guess Bill did have all that time to campaign as Illinois' official celebrity fan. Where is good ole Hugh Hefner? I voted for Hemingway
  24. Well id like to see how we do in the playoffs b4 i rip on someone... So lets just makie it first and than take it from there.
  25. I hope we dont go after Burnett.... His stuff is nasty thats true but I think he will want to check f/a and even with his good stuff he hasnt been that good of a pitcher. Even with all his blisters ill take Beckett after his playoff run 2 years ago.
