  1. Why should America be blamed for Rwanda... it wasnt our mess... we werent the ones who conquered it and split the people up. Than just leave.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:06 AM) Facing Zito, Harden, and Haren as they have been lately? Yes, that trio is scary. Haren doesnt really scare me but with the way Zito has pitched lately and Harden yeah that 1-2 punch is very scary.
  3. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) Gonzo won't be a rent a player, if he gets traded to the Sox, he'll sign a few year deal. They're not going to accept Uribe because he sucks. IMO Lopez is a SS better prospect than Valido. Lopez is not a better prospect than Valido... he is in a higher level currently but isnt a better prospect.
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) You're cracking me up, fella. Let me guess, you love making trades in MVP Baseball? Why what he says is the truth. Football is so unpredictable.. at least the NFL is. Thats why everyone is so damn surprised by the Patriots being awesome and winning it 3 out of 4 years with a salary cap. You telling me in 2003 you had the Panthers going to the Super Bowl?
  5. w00t Honel is the man.... I still have hope in him.
  6. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) If you go by age, Garland is 25 while Buehrle is 26. Martinez is 26 while Hafner is 28. The Sox duo is younger. I meant to say they "arent" real young studs like the other pairs..
  7. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Because if you look at the AL West Texas and Anaheim immediately scare you. However, Oakland is an average team while Seattle is a cupcake. In the NL East you have no one who scares you as Anaheim does, but you have no cupcakes. Atlanta is Atlanta. The Mets, as usual, have a good but underachieving team. Philly is off and on. The Nats are pretty good. And the Marlins are hugely underachiveing. I think its very close, with Anaheim and Texas being the top 2 teams, but I would put the next 4 out of the NL East and Seattle just sucks. Its about even but an edge to the NL East. I probably shouldnt have said "without a doubt". Apparently you havent looked at the AL West lately. The Rangers are at a downfall and Oakland is on the rise. While the Rangers are hovering around .500 mark the A's just tied the twins for the wildcard.
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) This wasn't a 'Bash Buehrle' thread. It was a bash the stupid 'This guy has got to go' threads that pop up on this site all the time. Yes, but he is using Buehrle's 1 bad game as an example when people bash other players for 1 game. And like i pointed out with the other people the reason they were called out was because its been a lot more than one game when it comes to the likes of Konerko, Dye, and so on.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) He could be a very intriguing DH. I think Soriano is someone the Sox could look at this offseason as well. He's a great athlete and is a heck of a player. Definately don't want him in the field though. He is actually not as bad in the field as a lot of people on this board think he is. Most of his errors come on the easy stuff Jose Valentin like.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) Actually, he made a very good point. No as I pointed out above he made a dumb point. Their hasnt been a thread about Buehrle for a long time... Since someone made that the continuing slide and fall of Buehrle last season I think. The threads made about other players is because they arent doing well for a long time. As i went through each individual in a earlier post.
  11. Tribes duo are relatively new to the majors but they aren't really young studs like the other duo's
  12. This random checking crap is bulls***. Just because the color of my skin is brown ill get stopped while rest of my friends wont. Even though I lived my whole life in America and my mom is white. when we travel out of country and come back I get put to a seperate section where they individually ask me what business I had going to another country. Hell on my last trip they even pulled the brown flight attendents aside and asked them questions...
  13. Idonno but I think it has helped DJ's broadcasting a lot. I mean he still isnt the greatest but compare this year to last and he is a lot better to me. Ive actually really grown to like him with the exception when he does those stupid interviews.
  14. That was a very good series. The only game that was really out of their hand was the Garland game but that was still a very good game till the 6th or 7th inning whenever Wakefield exploded.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Problem is it's just hard to find a guy like that. Hence why IF Paul Konerko moves on, a guy like Chad Tracy who has better road splits than home splits would be an ideal target. I dont mind a guy who hits better at home than the road, but at least be respectable on the road....Its all I ask for and Konerko cant do that and obviously hasnt hit well with RISP either.
  16. At least he got a good number of bats b4 this so he shouldnt be 2 rusty if he needs a month off.
  17. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) I'm pretty sure no one was complaining when he hit 277 with 41 homers and 117 rbis. Why dont you look at his road stats.... While just looking at them makes them seem all nice if you consider the fact he only showed up for half our games it isnt as pretty. I rather have a guy hit .277 with 30 HR's and only 100 RBI's but is a consistent presence on the road and on home.
  18. Difference is Buehrle has been awesome the whole year. Konerko has pretty much sucked the last 3 years except last year thanks to this park his stats seemed good... all you have to do is look at his road stats last year. Iguchi was awesome to begin the season.. for the 1st 2 months he was unbelievable but since than he has struggled although as of now he deserves the nod at 2B. Jermaine Dye started the year so extremely bad... although he has picked it up a lot since than but his start was so damn bad for the season and everyone was ripping him and I mean everyone dont deny it. Joe Crede has always been a touchy subject. You either love or hate him. I think he gets a little bit of a break here since he is a homegrown talent but I dont mind him that much. Juan Uribe has sucked the whole year offensively period. Although I cant get enough of his defense. Than I think the expectations for Rowand were just 2 high coming into the season, thats the main problem with him. Pierznski I think for the most part is praised but the people who rip him are the ones who expected a .300 hitter not a .250ish... but hey after olive/alomar I dont mind him. El Duque although good today even with his supposed good start 7-2 a lot of those starts he got lucky like that 5 inning 10 hit plus some walks and hit batters vs the twins and offense got him some wins sometimes. Contreras is just 2 inconsistent is the reason he gets ripped. Also with his kind of stuff you just expect him to be amazing but yet he cant get it all together on a consistent basis. As for Buehrle, Garland, Garcia... I dont want to hear anyone b****ing about them because they have all been great... and that also goes 2 Politte, Cotts, Hermy(even though he isnt as good since his scoreless streak)
  19. I like smoot I dont think he got burned that much I thought he did a pretty damn good job. The redskins defense was awesome it was their offense that was pitiful. And Smoot was a big part of that defense. Vikings I think arent much different than last year. Yes they got better defensively but just the same they got worse on offense. Randy Moss although is a distraction is arguably the best WR in the league currently and losing him will hurt a lot more than people think.
  20. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Quite Frankly, i think stephen a smith f***ing sucks! :finger Yeah I think he is absolutely horrible, Ive never seen a guy more full of himself... He is like the black Jay Marrioti to me.
  21. Last year it seemed like it was a serious problem. This year it hasnt been 2 bad and like it was said b4 Manny is just a beast.
  22. Idonno but im sure rooting for him. What he has done so far is short of amazing. A course I wouldnt mind if Carlos screwed him on RBI's
  23. 2 bad, he has tons of talent and tore up the minors.
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Disagree If Grossman stays healthy and our defense stays healthy I think we have a chance for playoffs. Last year our defense was so good and thats with it being injury riddled and on the field 90% of the time. Now with a revamped O-line, Grossman, Benson, and the Moose our offense should at least be on the field for a respectable amount of time and our defense now fully healthy should dominate. I cant wait seeing Mike Brown, Tillman, Azumah, Vasher, Urlacher, Briggs, Alex Brown, Ogunleye, and one of my new favorites Tommie Harris. Even though im starting to like Benson I was so hoping we would complete the defense by drafting Derrik Johnson
