Am I crazy, but is there any doubt....

He is going as a Brave.... he played more years as a Brave by far than as a cub and since he doesnt get to pick its obviously a brave. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) For those who are interesting...Schilling made his first bullpen appearance tonight at AAA...gave up a pair of runs in 1 inning. I hope he sucks and never makes it back fully, I think as a person he is a complete ass clown. Here's hoping he doesnt touch Coopers town.

Id come out as a closer using the song Smooth Criminal... not the Michael Jackson one
-
Sickels doesnt seem 2 impressed with our minor leaguers.... he said we would be in trouble because of the great prospects the twins and indians have compared to ours and stuff. I think that he is an idiot and knows very little about our minors and that its dumb for 1 man to rate every teams prospects because it would impossible for him 2 really know each team's minor leaguers.
-
well the hope is this offseason that Dye plays in some summer league and gets some time at 1B and than he can probably be our starting 1B with Gload as a backup 1B.

Guys id like Schmidt on our team as much as the next guy but I really dont see it happening. From all accounts by scouts he is only a good starter now not a great one and the asking price would be way high for him. That being said I dont mind if we trade any prospects away for a proven ace, the only guy in our minors im really looking forward to is Brian Anderson... and possibly Chris Young but if his value is really high I could part with him. I know this might not go well with you, but how about asking the Rangers about Kenny Rogers. He just had that incident and all but hey he is old and probably could use the 20 day rest. He also has been wanting a new contract that Texas wont give him and with him being old I dont think the asking price would be 2 high.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) For like the 30th time there is a team option for everett. Yeah but it would cheaper to sign him to a new deal, his option pays him a pretty good sum of money doesnt it. Personally I like what Everett has done for us this season but I dont mind saying goodbye to him this off-season.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Personally I think both boards are a great service to White Sox fans. Welcome aboard TimoandAaron, watch out for quickman though. I tend to agree, when it comes to stuff about the white sox there are a lot more members there to discuss with. But what I like about this one is the minor league coverage is >>>>>> WSI.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Anyone know who throws the hardest stuff in the game?? I don't see Bobby Jenks in the game. I got some made up guy, I didnt make him the game did I guess they put some random studs in drafts... anyways he throws a 101 mph screwball.

Bucks Seeing Redd Through 2011
GoodAsGould replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) redd you are a fool, now lebron should go for latrell sprewell Why would you call him a fool? Your a Milwaukee Bucks fan you should be happy Redd is staying . Anyways if the Cavs sign Sprewell that would just be another reason for Lebron to leave lol. -
QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) Gonzalez was traded by the Marlins in 2003 for Urbina b/c the Marlins wanted to keep Stokes instead and? The point is in Texas he is stuck behind Tex who isnt going anywhere and I think they have another good 1B some Botts guy but not sure on that. I think their cost for Adrian Gonzalez would be significantly less than the cost for Howard.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) On Howard, the Phillies wanted a kings ransom for him, about 3 really good players whether they are major league or prospects. Yeah from accounts it sounds like it would take way way 2 much to get Howard from the Phillies. Thats why if we trade for a 1B prospect my guy is Adrian Gonzalez, he is stuck behind Texiera and I think he also has a pretty good glove.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Yea, I think only Duque and Uribe can speak to him. Other than that, I would assume AJ thinks talking to the Count is as good as talking to a wall. Dont forget Timo Perez! And even if Contreras cant understand AJ he can still get his message across with how he says it you know.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Ichiro? Ok but Iguchi's season isnt close to Ichiro's.... its more on par with Matsui's if that and than Shingo's. Ichiro had an amazingly good rookie season didnt he win MVP 2?
-
QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Sorry to be silly, but has Baj even played in MLB yet? He did for a little while last year, definitely wouldnt be a closer in the majors and although it was a small sample size he struggled last year
-
Im not saying trade him, keep him for the season then in the offseason offer him arbitration and let what happens happens.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Iguchi is a rookie. Whether you agree with it or not. It doesnt matter whether i agree with it not, its if the voters agree with it or not and in the past they havent
-
QUOTE(shadowspy1 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Well, who is doing better than Gooch as a rookie? an actual rookie. Not a 30 year old veteran from another league.
-
yes it is sir.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) I read somewhere that our attendance is going to be AT LEAST 1.85M as it stands today. That's basically where we've been at in attendance the past couple years. There's no doubt it's going to surpass that though. right now its up from past years which is good because last year we faced the yanks early which will certainly boost attendence up anymore.
-
QUOTE(shadowspy1 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) I think that Gooch has a real good shot at becoming Rookie of the Year. I doubt it, not that he wouldnt deserve it but if Matsui didnt get it after his rookie season no way Iguchi will. He probably will end up finishing 2nd like the last 2 years with Shingo and Matsui finishing 2nd.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) I guess if you don't have the money to spend. The players are on the field are watching all the other players, not just the player on their team. They see everyone, not just one. I guess once they get everyone on the team making the exact same money, some people will be happy. No thats not it, some players are obviously worth more than others but Konerko is not worth 10 million. Id rather have Travis Hafner and even though he just got a new contract this season he is getting paid less than Konerko's current contract. If it was Magglio b4 injury id say he is worth 12-14 million for this team. Konerko on the other hand Id say only 6-8 and he is already getting paid a little bit more than 8 I think.
-
the best part is our attendence is starting to climb, last time i checked we just passed the twins up on attendence and the yanks and red sox have yet to come. Im hoping we can maybe end up around 15th maybe a little lower. Than hopefully from having such a good year that will help us in attendence next year.
-
the most amazing thing about his fastball is how he throws it like he is only throwing a 90 mph fastball, it almost looked effortless.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Come on he has 1 inning of big league experience Jenks = John Daly wouldnt you think that your 1st inning ever in the majors is probably the most pressure you will ever put on yourself unless maybe your closing game 7 of the WS but you get my point.
