  1. Kenji johjima is coming over from japan next year... alot more japanese players should be making up their minds soon whether they are coming over next year. Kenji is a similar player to iguchi... very. Btw, gabe kapler sucks. He got f***ing cut in japan.
  2. One earned run in 6 1/3 innings. He was had alot of deep counts and end up racking up 8 strikeouts. He didn't have great control but he had some pretty good stuff last night. All in all a pretty good outing for a ''washed up'' guy against a team that loves to beat up left handers
  3. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) I read that too if it was real we would have heard via espn or mlb.com by now They are not always on top of things... not close.
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) Big League Chew, as has already been stated, is still fairly easy to find. -- In the Chicago area, find a good candy shop; they should have it. It is sold at local stores @ burbank, oak lawn, etc..
  5. Willing to bet a nickel we do not trade for anyone on the marlins. Anyone up for that?

  7. Ben maller is a free version of espn's insider in all reality.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Look at what this team has done in June with 3 or 4 of their best guys on the DL. They've come roaring back into 2nd place and have just been sitting there waiting for the Nats to slump. Andruw Jones has found his swing. Kelly Johnson, Langerhans, other guys who's names I don't know...wow. And now...Tim Hudson came off the DL yesterday and threw 6 shutout innings, and Hampton came off the DL today (although he struggled). And Chipper should be back this week. This team will win that division. Anyone who bets against Bobby Cox is trying to commit suicide. That is all. Btw, something to think about...if you gave Bobby Cox the lineup and pitching staff of the Chicago Cubs...do you think they'd hover around .500 all year? Take a look at their lineup and compare it to the Braves. That says something. Cox and mazzone could probally take 20 teams in the league to the playoffs.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Ben Maller has a radio show as well as a rumor website (www.benmaller.com). Very interesting though. He is pretty damn fat. I have heard his show a few times and it's pretty solid in my opinion. What do you think of him?
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) I don't believe I actually ever was. I was one of the people telling people to stay away from the ledge, and just to ignore anything any writer predicted. Yup, got that one right. Seriously, WTF did/does he expect? Indians fan on a White Sox message board. What a 'tart. Sox team average: .262 Indians team average: .259 Sox runs scored: 428 Indians runs scored: 412 Sox team OBP: .323 Indians team OBP: .322 Sox team HR: 106 Indians team HR: 104 Tribe have a better SLG% and OPS...but I think I've mentioned the ones that are necessary. Good thing you were right on that one. Jose Contreras - 5-5, 3.99 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, .222 BAA Freddy Garcia - 9-3, 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, .241 BAA Not bad for a 2 and 4 starter, eh? I love correct predictions. 2 f***ing hits? Pwn3d a banned guy...
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) Is that a fact? Of course he is worth $10,765,608.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) Many people refused to call Buehrle an ace...Some people still probably do... Up until this year he was not an ace. This year he is pitching like one... no one can say otherwise this year.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Is it just me or does KW never trade for anyone that we are tied to this much? Garcia is the only one really but other than him you would be correct.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Oh hell yeah. Almost as funny as their media and players acting all hard telling people they were gonna sweep us this series before even the 1st pitch had been thrown. LOL!!! Somebody got swept alright. LMFAO!!!! That's not even the funny thing. People still thought all those fluke years offensively were gonna happen again, thought the indians pen was gonna blow ( from day one i have said i would take their pen over ours) and that buehrle/garcia
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Aaron Rowand had the highest SLG% and OPS on the team last year. Not that it is a guarantee that he will put it up again this year...but I think the chances are pretty good. So yeah, Aaron Rowand is a power hitter. He's probably not gonna hit 35 homers, but there's nothing wrong with 25 homers and 40 doubles now, is there? Lol. Wow. This whole f***ing thread is hysterical actually.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Is it me, or has Cotts velocity decreased? I've seen one pitch at 88mph, but most of the other pitches seem a little lower? However, I'd rather see him throw strikes at 86 mph than throw balls at 90 mph. The radar gun is off by two miles at least... garland can hit 94 and he was at 90-91 all day... and that was his fast fastball today.
  17. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) 40 man implications? YOu wouldn't give a guy who hits with power and average a chance. When we go to 40 man the sox will bring him up if he's doing well. I could give a damn what his past performance was but if he's turned the corne bring him up. The sox are the slowest when it comes to trying out their minor league talent.. We end up sending them in a deal somewhere else instead of getting the benefit of their play.. He is not ready...
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) No he shouldn't. Rowand is 5 times the defensive player in center field than Brian Anderson is. No knock on Anderson, but screw that, there is absolutely zero reason for the White Sox to move Aaron Rowand from CF. Only time he gets moved is if Torri Hunter or Andruw Jones find there way to Chicago. I cannot believe people think he should go back to right field just because that is what he came up as. He has extablished himself as one of the best defensive outfielders period... but brian anderson should knock him over to right...rofl.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Assuming none of them hit the "Sophomore slump". This is not baseball... ''sophmore slumps'' do not occur very often.. usually just get better from there on out or maintain that level.
  20. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) Id imagine if you got hit by a baseball in the head no matter how hard it was thrown it would hurt not keep you out of a game but hurt. Know imagine if you a kid and you got hit by that baseball in the head i doubt your going to play even after your done crying. Do you go to summer school?
  21. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Let's settle down. He had a bad outing. Pitchers do that. Let's face it the Indians for some reason have his number. If you take out the Indians games he has pitched in his era is a very respectable 4.08. How do you expect he would pitch after not pitching for 7 days. Plus he wasn't getting good footing on the mound because of how wet it was. Same with Marte to. JUST DON'T PITCH HIM AGAINST CLEVELAND! You cannot just subtract multiple outings from a pitcher to make his era look good. One is fine anything more is gettin carried away. How do i expect him to pitch after seven days rest? Um, good. It is not like he has been injured and come off the dl and has not throw in a while. He throws every single day to keep loose. Marte did not look like he had bad footing? He made a good pitch in on the hands of sizemore but sizemore did a good job of getting a hit out of it.
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) That's ridiculous. You like the guy and constantly post it here and at WSI, so you advocate Guillen protects him against a key Central rival. Either he's good enough or he isn't. He is miscast in his current role, which is mop up. He is not a mop up guy, nor does he have the ability to throw long relief which is basically what the Sox need from the 11th pitcher. You cannot build a pitching staff and then say, "Wait ... we can't pitch this guy vs. Kansas City ... we can only pitch this guy vs. the AL East ... we can't pitch Shingo vs. Cleveland ... and we can only pitch Garcia in day games ... and we definitely can't pitch Cotts vs. Oakland." Ludicrous, and unrealistic. This is not fantasy baseball. Don't position players that are left handed get platooned when they are against a left handed pitcher? Not saying all lefties do but alot of them do. I do advocate ozzie protects him against a key central division rival ( if you really want to consider the indians a rival)... better than him giving up 13 earned runs in four innings. I am not saying eliminate him from pitching against the rest of baseball, but the indians have hit him, and hit him hard. They have his number.
  23. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) I heard that too... But i dont balme them because they dont watch every game and follow them as closely as we do. They are getting paid to piss poor job as a whole. They had to of made ten mistakes throughout the game combined... therefore making me shake my head at them. Research some damn facts.
  24. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) are you sure I could have sworn he was Positive.
