For one i assume there would be a drop off in defense without both crede and uribe in the line-up. For two would you rather have a slightly higher average (because you sure as hell cannot expect him to hit .317) and say 15 to 20 less homeruns? You cannot just hand a thirty year old who has very limited major league experience the starting shortstop job.
