QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Now, the bullpen? It appears to be one of the worst in the majors (in the bottom 10%, perhaps). Webb will lose some victories, but nowhere near as many as last year because the offense is so much better. I'm expecting about 14 wins. Just because they are very young for the most part does not mean they will be one of the worst bullpens in the league. They have some excellent bullpen arms expecially their top four. Valverde, villarreal, aquino, and koplove would all be our right handed set-up man.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Uck. DJ seems like a real nice guy, but he says some dumb things -- like the other day, Hawk was like, "The buzz around here has been Brandon McCarthy." And DJ goes -- "Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz". I mean, how is Hawk supposed to respond to that? I called him a f***ing moron. Too bad he didn't hear it. -
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) You learn something new every day. How was he drafted, when he's from DR? I don't know anything about his bio. I was surprised that he'd been drafted, so I checked at baseball-reference. Where they have the stat comparison at the bottom, most similar hitters by age; #1, Joe DiMaggio. Nice company. He is really unbelievable. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/draft/1999_13_1.shtml Here is an excellent bio on pujols it explains everything. http://www.jockbio.com/Bios/Pujols/Pujols_bio.html

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) worse trade of all time i think the dodgers beat us on that by dealing Pedro for a s***ty ass 2B that batted i think an avg of .254 his 3 years with the dodgers. I know it is not the worst of all time. But it is definitely worthy of a mention.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Nothing will be written about him in baseball history books. Worst trades of all time possibly?

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Casey Rogowski may very well be the first baseman in '07. Albert pujols three picks later. That kills me.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Pretty much at the moment, Kevin Walker = Kelly Wunsch Clone at Charlotte. That contract goes up about $500,000 too if he makes the 25 man roster at some point IIRC.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) It's alright Steve. You can leave out Davis, doesn't make much of a difference really. Except he is a waste of one million dollars. -
Is the game on csn for us in chicago i have not looked at the csn schedule. If not is the game on espn blacked out here?

I thought someone would have put this in here last night, guess not. Anyway donyell marshall scored 38 points off of the bench last night along with ten rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block all in only 28 minutes. But that is not even the amazing part. He was 12-19 from the three point line and that twleve ties the nba record that kobe had. But is took kobe nine more minutes to make his twelve. So it is more than likely that marshall would have broken the record with nine more minutes played. Not just because of last night but i really wish the bulls would have held onto him. Without looking i believe he is a free agent next year? Would be an excellent signing if we cannot get a big guard ( which would be ridiculous?.

QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) Marte two walks, this guiy has not been right for two years, he is turning into a lefty specialist. Two years? -
QUOTE(gotoh00 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) He threw a curve in Japan but it was ineffective against lefties. The press here says that it's just a modified sinker that's even slower than his normal one with more movement. He plans to keep it locked up until the season is about to start. P.S. Prize to the guy who identifies my avatar babe Whoever it is looks like they are in their 40's-50's.

QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) I don't know if anyone else here was at the games today or if they mentioned it on tv but there was a real special moment before the Illinois game. When Bruce Weber came out on the court from the locker room the entire stadium gave him a standing ovation, not just Illinois fans but everyone, and it went on for a decent amount of time. It was a great thing to be a part of. Saw that on the back page of the paper today. Weber looked all choked up which is understandable.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Another key with Pods is that he doesnt get into long slumps or hitless streaks. Pods was held hitless in more than two straight games only once (three games, 8/21-23). That is amazing. He might not go hitless often but when he goes 1-5 or 1-4 all the time that is not exactly good.
