  1. First time poster that has four posts?
  2. Can we borrow one of the indians thirty infielders? Would make life that much easier for us.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) No, having Willie Harris play SS while moving your gifted SS to 3B is what makes 1st or 2nd place teams 3rd, 4th or 5th place teams. If Harris can play SS, he probably can play 3B. I don't think he will be able to adequately play either. I see him being like eckstein. While he is not your ideal choice he gets the job done just fine. Is there any really reason you do not think he can play shortstop or third base? I think third would be a lot harder on him than short, but no reason in my opinion why he cannot play short.
  4. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) 213 at home? Isn't Miller Park a hitters park? I think the knucklehead's problem is trying too hard to hit homers, a problem likeyl exascerbated by the Cell Yes, so i do not understand jugger's thoughts.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) He's certainly living up to that Clubhouse cancer reputation. In all likely hood someone some where will twist and turn what he did as being bad. :headshake
  6. QUOTE(soxman35 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) 18 dude know dout about it i want the bulls to win but they got to stop giving the ball up and they will win but they have continued to do so and i am upset about it Look at some stats. They have always been turning the ball over at a high ratio and they have been doing fine for the most part this season. Losing deng and having nocioni start> turning the ball over.
  7. QUOTE(soxman35 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) hey i want the bulls to win evan thow i think they are not going to i never said i want them to lose i just said i think they suck If they suck so bad why bother watching them?
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) No I don't think he's overpaid because 1.) he was the only guy who could bunt on our team, and 2.) we filled all of our holes within our budget. Why b**** about a $150,000 raise for a guy who was clutch last season? Are you related to Reinsdorf? 1. He was our best bunter but how much is that saying? 2. True, but why if we insist on having another outfielder ( even though gload would fill in the fifth outfielder just fine) why not sign someone for league mininum? Do i really have to answer that last question? Also, i could have sworn i just said ''borchard>timo?'' I never said borchard in better than timo. Hell, i think borchard blows just like most anyone else.
  9. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) Also the 3-run single off of KRod to tie the game, a game-tying home run off Benitez in Pro Player, and toying with Zambrano on the basepaths to trigger a Crede home run. For a bench player, he made the difference in a handful of games in 2004. We pay almost 1,000,000 per win anyway. 2 questions: How much has the White Sox organization paid both Timo/Borchard? Who has done more for the organization? Answer these and you might understand why I got upset. Yes, timo has done more for this team never said he didn't. Borchard got a ridiculous bonus when he signed in my opinion. I thought that at the time they gave it to him too.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) the argument for borchard is his upside..... also Borchard is a switch hitter which always helps your cause. And we dont pay Borchard a million dollars Helps valentin alot huh?
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Ok, and do any of those Bill James stats crap take into account his throw out of Bret Boone to end that game in September, or his bunt with the bases loaded to tie the Twins game just to name a few great Timo moments? Do you think any of those statheads actually watched as many Sox games as you or me last year? Maybe the Yankees should release A-Rod. I mean, does he really deserve $18 million? The stats are not crap because you either do not like them or understand them. Of course i do not think a-rod ever deserved that much money.
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Oh be nice. Let him have that one. He lost out on the Timo debate. Sorry qwert. 0-2 today. There are 20 televised games. I was just asking a question about the schedule because i was not sure so...? Also, i did no such thing as lose that timo debate. There are so many stats that prove timo blows but people choose to look the other way and only look at the good ones. All in all i lost nothing.
  13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Here's to 20 more in ST! Aren't there 20 games in total including this one? I know i say someone post the list some where.
  14. I know one thing. Everything i have seen about the sox bringing him back and giving him a raise laughed at it. Timo's ops+ last year was 58 which is just disgusting and his warp is virtually non existent. His three win shares are awesome too.
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) you're right. we pay him five million. He is payed off.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) Not as well. But why worry about his numbers without runners on when he will be used as a bench player? Bench players do not just come in with runners on. They come in at all different times. With people in scoring position, not with people in scoring position, need to get a bunt down, etc. Do you not agree he is over paid at one million dollars?
  17. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) :headshake Find someone who had 8 assists and 4 DP in 615 IP, and batted .412 with runners in scoring position and two outs. Timo Perez (career RISP) 289 AB .318 AVG .350 OBP 3 HR 125 RBI 20 BB 28 K men on two outs: .289 BA, .710 OPS man on third less than two outs: .462 BA, .990 OPS Don't you want a guy with numbers like this for our bench? Who give a f*** how much he is making? We filled all of our holes didn't we? How has hit with none on in his entire career? Many more times than not you come up with no one on.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Please. How about Walker>Cotts? At getting lefties out he is most likely. Can anyone really argue that it would be best for cotts down the line that he needs another year of triple a to work on some things?
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) who has better career stats? Who has 1093 more at-bats in the majors?
  20. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) which is it? upside or potential? You asked me what has timo ever DONE. only have better career offensive numbers than Borchard in everything. His numbers still suck. We could have signed someone for league mininum and they would have put up numbers like his. He is a waste of one million dollars.
  21. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Joe hit .174 with 57 strikeouts in 201 at bats last year with an OPS of .587. While Timo isn't exactly my favorite player on the team his career batting average is .269 and his career OPS is .691. Is a .269 career average, .306 obp, and .691 ops something to be excited about?
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) CAREER timo .269/.306/.384 borch .182/.248/.332 Who still has more upside? Borchard's major league numbers are still a pretty small sample size. But i keep forgetting how godly timo's numbers are.
  23. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Timo comes through in the clutch. Take last season for instance...go take a look at Timo's average when he NEEDED to get a hit. On the flipside of that coin, what did JoBo accomplish? Batting like .190? :P O.k.
  24. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) Not ready to go there... Why? What does timo do? Borchard at least goes out and hustles all the time.
