  1. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:54 AM) Does Contreras come off the books next year? Do you mean after the 2006 season or after this season coming up?
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) The Brewers will need a young stud outfielder to replace Carlos Lee when his deal finishes next season, Anderson or Sweeney would be perfect. Considering what Atlanta gave up for Hudson and St. Louis for Mulder, it could cost a B-Mac and Anderson OR Anderson or Sweeney + Tracey and Young or Ricks (something like that). Only way i would trade them for him is if we have a deal worked out with him before he is traded to us. I would not even do what we did with garcia and waited however long it was, a week or two. That is taking too much of a risk in my opinion.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) Probably because he's the most likely to get dealt of the big name pitchers if the Brewers can't agree on terms for a long - term deal. I am just saying for a couple years now even before he went crazy i have always heard his name mentioned with the white sox. I am gonna go out on a limb though and say that get something done with him.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Carlton Fisk.... :sleep Whoopty f**king doo. No one cares about this old nag anymore. Apparently a lot of people do.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:20 AM) One of Anderson or Sweeney if it's to acquire a real impact player like Ben Sheets. Plus there's lots of good pitching in the lower levels with Tracey at AA with B-Mac, Giovani Gonzalez and Tyler Lumsden. Why does ben sheets name always come up when we talk about pitchers?
  6. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 03:01 AM) Who will we trade from the prospects dept to get someone at mid season? I feel our minor league system is barren after the trades the last few years Unless we give up someone big like BMac, who do we have to give that someone else might want for a vet? One player we have traded from the minors has a good chance of being good and that is reed. Otherwise who else? The chair thrower?
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) Great article on how horrible weber is at recruiting: http://www.cbs.sportsline.com/collegebaske...l/story/8243060 A number one team and big-time recruits still aren't interested? He does deserve credit for doing what he's doing with self's recruits, but it's not looking too good after this year. This is the year for them to win it all... Good luck. If they play like thay have been, I can't see anybody beating them. If not... After this year if we get to at least the elite 8 which i believe we will the recruits will start to come.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Why is that Maybe he meant they are only dumb when he is in them? If so then i agree 100%.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) Better than pac, biggie, nas, run dmc, krs-1, rakim, and chuck d?? I think tru just has something for his muscles to be honest.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Do they overrate Tyson over there too? Who here overates chandler? Surely not me. Anyway, one poster over there has a massive hard-on for curry and wants to have his children. He has said if you replace curry with ben wallace that there would be no difference. he always implies he is a top notch rebounder and defender along with being the best scoring big man. Other than that guy the site is great.
  11. How big is this league? Because if it is less than 16 i have alot of problems with it.
  12. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) Nobody else really good, but somehow Woody Williams, Al Leiter, Jeff Suppan were both drafted in the 16th round, Bronson Arroyo and Jason Marquis in the 17th, Jerome Williams and Ted Lilly in the 18th, John Thomson and Brian Lawrence in the 19th, and Glavine and Benson were snagged in the 20th. But there was no one else really good after 15. Please do not mention good and benson any where near each other. Thanks.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Thank you sir Fish dbaho, he never signed up. But that site it pimp. They just added this points feature and you can save it up to buy stuff from the store. You can also steal money from other members, give rep points, challenge people in the arcade, etc. They are also adding sub forums for baseball. It is turning into a sports forum not just strickly a basketball forum. I do not know how they can possibly run that message board with 75 forums and adding several more. It runs so smooth now that it is not even funny.
  14. Why is this team built around such low obp guys? Shouldn't we be trying to improve in that area?
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) I want to start the "Keep Willie, trade Timo" Club. Cheat, wanna join? I do, too bad timo is going no where this year.

  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) one thing i think we can all agree on is that we can't afford to have a month or two at a time this year where uribe/harris hit .120. That was a real problem last year, hopefully they will both be more consistent this season Hopefully podsednik's .244 and 70 stolen base ass will hit over .250 more than two months of the season too?
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) IMO that is stupid of the scdulers(sp) I am a horrible typer but this one made me laugh.
  20. Why is dee so good? Six threes in the first half so far 21 points. Make it seven treys at the half now.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Personally I have weighed in enough on this topic so I will refrain, but one thing to remember from today's game is Podsednik knows Russ Ortiz's tendancies and pickoff moves, while Harris does not. Plus it's a spring training game and if there's a chance to test things out, now is the time. Later in the month I would be slightly more concerned about getting picked off but it is certainly not a major indictment that Harris got picked off. To be honest I was happy he was running. Sometimes getting picked off or thrown out stealing is the way it goes. That's part of aggressiveness. Why is it that when uribe got picked off only a couple people complained? He is by far our worst base runner on the team in my opinion and to top it off he got picked off at second. There is no excuse at all for getting picked off at second f***ing base. Willie may be tenative but seems to me when he is on the base he does n ot get stuck in stupid pickles like uribe.
  22. Well against righties last year willie hit .279 with an obp of .366. Who is willing to bet money that podsednik does not do better overall?
  23. I wish willie could beat out iguchi even though that is nearly impossible due to contract differential.
  24. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Very good point. I don't even know who the best bunter was last year. Rowand? He was awful. Our best bunter was timo and that is not saying much at all.
  25. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) I like the aggressiveness displayed so far. Sounds like Ozzie means business. Bunting, hitting and running. Fundanmentals that we lacked last year. I don't mind bunting but like cwsguy said wtf were they bunting for in the 7th when down two runs? I do not want ozzie to get too carries away with ''small ball''.
