  1. QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) Matsuzaka is VERY young. That is the main reason i would take him over uehara
  2. QUOTE(gotoh00 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) I like Uehara over Matsuzaka. Uehara has a sharp fastball and a great forkball. He's not afraid to pitch inside and stuck out Barry Bonds 3 times in an exhibition game. Overall, Matsuzaka has better stuff but he's a punk. Great fastball, curve, slider, and circle-change but shows guys up too much. Thinks he's the best at everything and is prone to the long ball. Once got a huge fine for illegal parking in front of his girlfriend's house and had his trainer pay for it. I would still take matsuzaka over uehara personally. But do you think that matsuzaka comes over next year or the year after?
  3. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) I was going to say, the Cubs dont have Sullivan. I would love that trade. I think everyone would love to get Tony G! As far as the Cubs, I hope they enjoy their injured new players (aka Scott Williamson). LOL the Cubs sign 1 injured free agent miner leaguer while the Sox totally change the face of their team in a good way. I'm lovin it! Who is this injured free agent minor leaguer?
  4. QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) the guy sucks s*** bring back frank williams off the il Frank williams is a slow fat piece of s***. I will stick with pargo thank you.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) I know he signed a 1 year deal with his team in Japan for this season, and from what I've heard next year teams in the MLB can bid on him, but I'm not sure if that's 100%. I'll have to find out. If that is the case it's probally gonna be like ichiro. How teams had to make a bid on him just to talk a contract with him. The mariners spent like ten or twelve million just to have the rights to talk with him.
  6. QUOTE(VenomSox @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) How much SS has Iguchi played? 246 games but he won't be playing any short here.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) And more importantly, hopefully it'll give us a much better chance at signing Daisuke Matzusuka next off-season. This are the main guys in the next couple years. Matkusuka is not eligible until 2007 i believe. If you have see it else where that he is next year let me know.
  8. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Kennedy is hurt to start the yr. Don't know how long he'll be out
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Again... less than 200 ABs vs. lefties in his ML career, and was known as hitting lefties just as well as righties in his minor league scouting report. Being able to hit lefties doesn't just leave you, which is why I believe many on this board are a little quick to say that he can't hit lefties, yet are judging him on what, 150 ABs? But ben davis, who has had 1512 at-bats in the major leagues and has shown nothing that he is good enough to be a starter we should not give up on. :rolly
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) I agree that Willie can overcome his lack of success against lefties. Based on his minor league career that and his SB problems should be temporary issues. However, this talk of Willie at 3B or SS doesn't make sense. He doesn't have the arm to play either position. Agree, i don't know how many times he was bouncing the ball in the dirt from second base. I do know that it was alot though. But his range more than makes up for it in my opinion.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) ROFLMFAO Jannero Pargo: 0 points, 3 TO's, 3 fouls, 0/5 shooting He is all or nothing, that is what sucks about him. At least he won't be used much unless we are getting rocked or killing other teams. Which probally won't be happening very much this season.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) He's tall I'll give you that but he really can't do any one thing well. 43.5% shooter, 6.5 points, 4.4 boards (not bad), 1.4 assists, 16% 3p%, 74.4%Ft He's only 21 so he can get better but he really wasn't all that good at Stanford and has shown nothing so far (I understand it's early in his career) but I just don't see it. You say this about randolph, curry, oneal, etc?

  14. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Not to mention Willie plays a much better CF and even LF. But Timo did hit that clutch HR. Is it just me or does willie look lost in the outfield? He cannot get reads on a ball to save his life.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) What does he do well? He is a 6'8 shooting guard who can rebound, dish, and has a decent shot. I am sorry that he is not putting up 35 points, 23 boards, 17 assists per game, and 11 blocks per game in his rookie season. Being 6'8 gives him the advantage on nearly every shooting guard in the league.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Yes. You would be wrong still. Maybe you do not follow basketball much?
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Josh Childress sucks ass, I didn't like him at Stanford and I don't like him in Atlanta, he's skinny and bad. No.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Holy crap, Ben Gordon just PWNED Josh Childres. WOW. One of his better moves this year. He had one on someone else and made them fall over.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) You're kidding, right? Sean Tracey is (considered by some around here) our second best pitching prospect behind B-Mac. Reynoso is a good call, but isn't Lopez an alright IF prospect? Lopez will get picked up by someone and tracey most definitely will. So they are not options.
  20. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) This is such a good question, I felt it deserved it's own thread. Rogowski? Reynoso? Davis? Who can they get through waivers? Reynoso is useless in my opinion.
  21. Bulls keep up the alley oops at this rate they will probally set a record.
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) I think I'll call you Cheat jr. Why because i don't think he will be great this year? I have no clue what he is gonna do but i don't see him hitting .300 in his first year with 25 homeruns and 80 rbis.
  23. QUOTE(spataro51 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) sorry! i would never post on whitesox.com why doesn't he post here? Good question you have there. I have only seen him post like twice here, both times for a week or so time spand.
  24. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) DeRosa is now with Texas, McLemore retired. So from the FA route, it's Deivi Cruz and Larkin. We would also have to trade for cruz since he is on the giants.
