  1. Really? He was starting to mention jerry manuel's name as a reason why we had no pitching last year. He was saying it to be a smart ass. I also said that he probally feels it is kw's fault that ordonez and thomas got injured because he thinks everything else is kw's fault. Edit: I see that you were talking about antrax.
  2. Yes, it was jerry manuel's fault for no pitching last year. :banghead I bet you think it was kenny william's fault that thomas and ordonez both got hurt last year right? He told willie harris to intentionally run into ordonez's knee right?
  3. Really? I think they would have still fell a few games short. But i guess we will never no. Pitching was th ebig problem last year, it was horrid. There were not many positives when it came to either the rotation or the pen.
  4. If you are referring to byrd he is only 27. Far from over hill, cheap as hell, near league minimum. Down side of his career? He has only played two full season in the majors and i would not even sat it was two full years. Yes, last year was terrible for him. But why not get someone while their stock is low? If he pans out it looks like a steal.
  5. Dee brown has said he will go pro if he is really hot at the end of the year? Dayum, this is the year that they have got to do it, no doubt about it.

    Matheny

He is a gold glove catcher, he can learn very quick i think. I have heard he will get around 2.5 million next year which i would not like to pay for mathney.
  7. I just thought this funny. Sandy Alomar - C - White Sox Sandy Alomar Jr.'s deal with the Phillies is on hold after an MRI on his left knee raised a red flag. He's Sandy Alomar. What was the team expecting? His lack of durability is obviously part of his charm. The 73-year-old catcher told the Phillies that the problem with his knee -- a buildup of scar tissue -- has been an issue since 1995 and is manageable. "He said he's ready to play and can definitely do the job for us," manager Charlie Manuel said. "We just need our own peace of mind that he's going to be all right." 8. Friend, lives about a block away from me.
  9. Unless they get deep into the playoffs they wil not resign him. Even then it is still pretty doubtful. I just love ray allen, he can dunk with the best of them and is one of the best pure shooters in the game if not the best.
  10. Didn't everyone think that was gonna be a horrible trade?
  11. Basically what they did with jackson after he got his 1000th. But i think he got 1005 before they cut him loose. Could be wrong by one or two though.
  12. That is an understatement.
  13. Ray allen should be their main target or redd/ ilgauskas.
  14. Their bullpen is still awful and i think after clement they are still another starter away.
  15. Gload will be the dh i take it, him or konerko sometimes.
  16. John flaherty resigns with the yankees for $800,000. Jose vizcaino resigns with the astros for $ 1,250,000. Both are one year deals.
  17. They want pitching for him in return, and we have none to spare.
  18. The Dodgers have no plans to non-tender Milton Bradley after his latest run-in with the law, but GM Paul DePodesta thinks the outfielder would be smart to forego arbitration. The Dodgers could use Bradley's problems against him in an arbitration hearing. They'd rather sign him before the non-tender date. Bradley earned $1.73 million in 2004, his first year of arbitration eligibility. He's probably due somewhere around $3 million for 2005. Dec. 3 - 5:14 am et From rotoworld.
  19. :banghead Carl is needed for right field so yes he is needed. Escobar blows and anderson is not ready. Not very smart to bring him up at this point and time. But i am sure if you were the gm he would have been up when he was drafted. There you go again with your smart ass (''yeah maybe when Frank gets back he can lead off, since his obp in 04 was above .400 '') comment again.
